(p. 397) grahamu grahamu. [Skt. గ్రహ = to seize.] n. A planet. నవగ్రహములు the seven planets and the sun and moon. దశమగ్రహము a tenth planet: being like the Georgium sidus. A spirit, a devil. A proverb says జామాతా దశమోగ్రహః A son-in-law is a more pestilent fellow than any one planet! he is the 'tenth!' గ్రహచారము graha-chāramu. n. Disaster, ill luck, fate, misfortune. నా గ్రహచారము చాలక యిట్లు జరిగినది through my misfortune (or, to my sorrow) it so happened. మా గ్రహచారము ఇట్లున్నది this is what has befallen us. గ్రహణము grahaṇa-mu. n. Taking, seizure. Reception, acceptance, comprehension. An eclipse. గ్రహణి grahaṇi. n. Diarrhœa, dysentery. అతిసారరోగము. గ్రహతారలు graha-tāralu. n. The planets and fixed stars. గ్రహపతి graha-pati. n. The lord of the stars, i.e., the sun. గ్రహరాజు the sun or moon.

(p. 399) ghaṭillu ghaṭillu. [Skt.] v. n. To befall, to occur, to happen, to come to pass, to be obtained, be laid, attributed or imputed (as blame) కలుగు. అప్పుడు ఘటిల్లక not being then possible or attainable. ఘటిల్లజేయు ghaṭilla-jēyu. v. a. To effect, accomplish, do, manage.

(p. 426) cendu chendu. [Tel.] v. n. To happen, befall, to belong to, to accrue to, to devolve on. To be got, felt, experienced. కలుగు. v. a. To obtain, attain to, enjoy. పొందు. నిదురచెందిరి they enjoyed sleep. చెందిన భయము the terror he suffered. దైనగతి చెందిరి they died: lit. they suffered the will of God. నిన్ను దోషముచెందదె will not the sin be thine? చెందించు chendinṭsu. v. a. To cause to get, attain, obtain or enjoy. చెందింపజేయు to assign or apportion.

(p. 431) celagu chelagu. [Tel.] v. n. To appear, arise, occur, befall, take place, happen, ఒప్పు; enjoy oneself. Resound శబ్దించు; break forth, be felt (as a passion,) come to light, be betrayed, to break out (as a sore.). పుష్పవర్షముచెలగె. a shower of flowers took place. To flourish, be strong. ఒప్పు. To rejoice ఉత్సహించు. సంతోషించు. To sound శబ్దించు, బొబ్బరించు. చెలగించు chela-ginṭsu. v. a. (causal of చెలగు) To betray, give forth, emit (sighs.) చెలగిగళధ్వనుల్ చెలగించి చెలగించి more and more plainly were his sobs heard.

(p. 587) dāparamu dāparamu. [Tel. from దాచు.] n. Happening, meeting. ప్రాప్తి. Stealing, దొంగిలించుట. Concealment, duplicity. మరుగు, మాయ, మోసము. వానివద్ద మరేమి దాపరములేదు there is no concealment about him. adj. Secret, unseen, రహస్యమైన. G. ii. 16. దాపరమైన happened, chanced, befallen, తటస్థమైన. ఈ మొగుడు నాకు ఎక్కడ దాపరమైనాడు how was I so unhappy as to have this husband? దాపరించు dāparinṭsu. v. n. a. To happen, to chance, to have or meet, ప్రాప్తమగు. To steal, దొంగిలించు. దాపరీడు dāpa-rīḍu. n. A thief. దొంగ. దాపరికము dāpa-rikamu. n. Hiding. దాచుట. See దాపు and దాచు.

(p. 612) doralu or దొర్లు doralu. [Tel.] v. n. To roll, to be rolled, to be poured forth, to be overturned or upset. Metaphorically, to die. To turn up, as cards or dice. To slide or slip down, to trip. To be admitted, united, or joined, కలయు. To oppose, మారుకొను. To befall. అన్యాయము దొరలదు injustice will never flourish. కీడుదొరలి వచ్చు evil will befall (him.) v. t. To enjoy, అనుభవించు. దొరలించు or దొర్లించు doralinṭsu. v. t. To cause to roll. దొరలునట్లుచేయు. To upset.

(p. 815) posagu posagu. [Tel.] v. n. To agree, fit, suit, be consistent with. To happen, take place, occur, befal. ఒనగూడు, ఒప్పు, పొందుపడు, చక్కబడు, ఇముడు, సరిపడు, అనుకూలించు. To be got, obtained. సంభవించు, దొరకు, లభించు. వీరికి వారికి పొసగదు they do not agree, they are on bad terms. వానికేమి పొసగినది what happened to him? ఈ కర్మము నీకెట్లు పొసగినది how did you get into this trouble? 'భోజనవేళల పొసగునే మాట,' Pal. 44. 'పరసమినుము సోకిబంగారమైనట్లు, కప్పురంబుజ్యోతిగలసినట్లు, పుష్పమందుతావి పొస గినట్లగుముక్తి.' Vēma. i. 81. పొసగ posaga. adv. Duty, fitly. 'చంపదగిన యట్టి శత్రుడుతనచేత, జిక్కెనేనికీడుసేయ రాదు, పొసగమేలుచేసి పొమ్మనుటేచావు.' Vēma. i. 23. పొసగించు posaginṭsu. v. a. To cause to agree or fit. To bring to terms, to persuade. పొసగుడు posagudu. n. Convenience, aid, help, అనుకూల్యము. Happening, ప్రాప్తమగుట.

(p. 1015) mūḍu mūḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To happen, to befall. కలుగు, సరిపడు. To end, close, terminate, అంతమగు. వానికి చావుమూడినది he is sure to die. వానికి ఆయువుమూడినది his days are ended. 'ఈ మునిపుత్రునకీవిధి మూడె.' HD. i. 1629. మూడుచు or మూడ్చు mūḍuṭsu. v. a. To cause to happen, మూడజేయు, కలిగించు, మూడుపు mūḍupu. n. The name of a certain plant. H. iv. 11.

(p. 1098) labhiñcu labhinṭsu. [Skt.] v. n. To happen, befall, occur, be acquired or gained. ప్రాప్తమగు. ప్రాప్తించు, కలుగు. వాడు చెప్పిన ప్రకారము లభించినది it turned out as he prophesied. లబ్ధము labdhamu. adj. Gained, acquired, obtained, received, attained. పొందబడిన. n. The quotient in division. భాగహారము చేయగా వచ్చినసంఖ్య. లబ్ధవర్ణుడు labdha-varṇuḍu. n. A learned man. పండితుడు. లబ్ధి labdhi. n. Profit, gain. లాభము, ప్రాప్తఫలము, కలిమి.' ఇతరమత్స్యములనంగట బోకార్చియందుల లబ్ధిజంగమారాధనల్ సల్పుచులీల.' BD. iv. 1822. లభ్యము labhyamu. adj. Attainable, procurable. పొందదగిన.
