(p. 424) cīlu chīlu. [Tel.] v. n. To split or crack. విదారితమగు. To withdraw from company. To be scattered. To fall off or drop off as paint. To divide, or branch off, as a road or stream. చీల్పించు chīlpinṭsu. (v. causal) To tear, divide, &c. To sow dissensions. చీలదీయు. chīla-dīyu. v. n. To split or to tear, to scatter, to divide. To seduce, beguile. To tempt, tamper with, raise dissensions, foment, worm out a secret. చీలిక or చీరిక chīlika. n. A slit, a slice. చీలుచు or చీల్చు chīluṭsu. v. a. To split, crack, tear, divide.

(p. 633) nammu nammu. [Tel.] v. a. & n. To believe or give credit to. To trust or confide in. To rely on, to have faith in. విశ్వసించు. To suppose, imagine. నమ్మనగు it is believable, విశ్వసింపవచ్చును. నమ్మకము, నమ్మిక or నమ్మిగ nammakamu. n. Trust, reliance, assurance, confidence, belief, faith, dependence. నమ్మకముగా confidently, positively, trustworthily. నమ్మకమైన nammakam-ai-na. adj. Trustworthy, faithful. నమ్మకస్థుడు nammaka-sthuḍu. n. A trustworthy or faithful man, a respectable man. నమ్మిక మాటలు persuasive words: assurance, beguiling. నమ్మినవాణ్ని చెరపరాదు you should not injure him who confides in you. నమ్మించు namminṭsu. v. a. To cause to believe or trust. To assure, cheat, promise, persuade. నమ్మించి గొంతుకోసినాడు lit: he made them believe in him and cut their throat, i.e., he ruined them.

(p. 729) paśyatōharuḍu paṣyatō-haruḍu. [Skt.] n. A deluder, a beguiler, a swindler, a common cheat. పచ్చెపుదొంగ, చూచుచుండగా దొంగిలించువాడు. A goldsmith, కంసాలెవాడు.

(p. 901) bēlu bēlu. [Tel.] n. A trick, guile, మోసము, వంచన. బేలరి bēl-ari. n. A deceiver, a cheat. మోసకాడు, వంచకుడు. బేలుపెట్టు or బేలుపుచ్చు bēlu-peṭṭu. v. a. To deceive, మోసపుచ్చు. 'తానటమాంసముదినదట. యీనక్కయబేలు పెట్టె నిన్నాళ్లును.' M. XII. iii. 75. బేలుపోవు, బేలుపడు or బేల్పడు bēlu-pōvu. v. n. To be tricked, or beguiled.

(p. 1208) veḍḍu veḍḍu. [Tel.] n. Cunning, hypocrisy. కపటము. Deceit, వంచన. వెడ్డరి veḍḍ-ari. n. A cunning person, a hypocrite, కపటి, వంచకుడు. వెడ్డుపెట్టు veḍḍu-peṭṭu. v. a. To delude, beguile, cheat. మాయచేయు, వంచించు. 'అనవుడుమున్ను నిట్టులనరైతిరిపోవగ నీమమిమ్మునెందును గడువెడ్డువెట్టితిరి.' M. XII. v. 300.
