(p. 449) cuṭṭu ṭsuṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To go about, to go round. To roll, wrap up, to wind up, to encircle or clasp in an embrace. To hem in, surround, to overtake (as sin does). To draw a circle. To make small ciphers, thus: సున్నచుట్టు, క్రారావడిచుట్టు to write o or ; పాగాచుట్టు to tie a turban. చుట్టుకొను or చుట్టుపారు to surround, hem in, roll up. To turn, to go round. దోవచుట్టుకొని వేళ్లుచున్నది here the road makes a sweep. చుట్టు n. A turn, a round, a circuit, a circumference. A turn or bout: a time. A toe ring, worn by women కాలియుంగరము, తలచుట్టు a turban. గోరుచుట్టు a whitlow. ఎన్నిచుట్లు చెప్పేది how often am I to tell you? చుట్టు adj. & adv. Around, round about, out of the direct way. చుట్టలుగు, చుట్టువాలు or చుట్టుకైదువు ṭsuṭṭ-alugu. (చుట్టు+అలుగు.) n. The Discus of Vishnu చక్రమనే ఆయుధము. R. iii. 42. చుట్టిల్లు a round hut without posts or pillars: చుట్టివచ్చు to go round anything; ప్రదక్షిణముచేయు. To surround పరివేష్టించు. చుట్టుకొల్లారము, చుట్టుకొల్లారు or చుట్టుమాలె ṭsuṭṭu-kollāramu. n. A house built round an open area, with a chamber at each corner and a gallery between. చుట్టుగుల్ల ṭsuṭṭu-gulla. n. A volute shell. గుండ్రని శంఖము. చుట్టుదల ṭsuṭṭu-dala. n. The act of surrounding చుట్టుట. చుట్టుతిరుగు ṭsuṭṭu-tirugu. v. n. To go the rounds, as a patrol. చుట్టుపట్టు ṭsuṭṭu-paṭṭu. n. All sides. Roundabout. చుట్టుపడు ṭsuṭṭu-paḍu. v. n. To fall out of the direct route: to go round. చుట్టుముట్టు ṭsuṭṭu-muṭṭu. v. n. To encamp around, besiege, hem in, surround. Vish P. viii. 64. చుట్టువేదెము ṭsuṭṭu-vēḍemu. n. Riding a horse round the ring. Dasav. X. 145. గుర్రపుమండలగతి. చుట్టువేలు or చుట్టనవేలు ṭsuṭṭu-vēlu. n. The forefinger. 'చుట్టువేలునచక్కచూపంగగలవే.' R. iv. 167. చుట్టూరు ṭsuṭṭ-ūru. adv. Roundabout.

(p. 999) muṭṭu muṭtu. [Tel.] v. a. and v. n. To touch, తాకు. To attack as an enemy, శత్రువును తాకు. To touch or strike a sensitive part of the body, మర్మమునుతాకు. To besiege, ముట్టడించు. To be ended or finished, కడముట్టు. To arrive, be received, obtained. నాకు రూపాయిలు ముట్టలేదు I did not receive the rupees. ముట్టగొలుచు to worship to the end, or with unfailing devotion, కడవెళ్లకొలుచు. 'ముట్టగొలిచినఫలం బిట్టుండవలదె.' BD. v. 457. రాత్రి తుదముట్టగానే (Vasu. iv. 170.) as soon as night came to its close. ఇది తుదముట్టేదెన్నటికో when will this be finished? వానిని సర్పము ముట్టినది a snake bit him. n. Contact, touching, తాకుడు. Defilement by contact. Hence, the menses. A tool or instrument, ఉపకరణము. వానికి అంటుముట్టులేదు he does not care about being touched. పనిముట్టు or కొరముట్టు a tool. కన్నపుముట్టు (B. v. 807.) a house breaker's tool for boring walls adj. Defiling, foul, unclean, menstruous. ముట్టయిన menstruous. ముట్టుకొను muṭṭukonu. v. a. To touch, తాకు. To besiege, ముట్టడించు. To surround, encroach upon, ఆక్రమించు. ముట్టుకొలుపు muṭṭu-kolupu. v. a. To cause to touch or besiege. రామా. vi. ముట్టుకోలు muṭṭu-kōlu. n. A siege, ముట్టడి. ముట్టుకొలుగొను, ముట్టుకోల్గొను, ముట్టుకోలుపట్టు, ముట్టుకోల్పట్టు or ముట్టుకోలుపరుచు Same as ముట్టడించు. ముట్టుది or ముట్టుత muṭṭudi. n. A menstruous woman. ముట్టచెప్పు muṭṭacheppu. v. a. To assign. చెల్లగట్టు. నాకు పదిరూపాయలసొమ్ము ముట్టజెప్పినాడు. he paid or gave me ten rupees. ముట్టడి muṭṭaḍi. n. A siege, blockade. ఊరుచుట్టుకొని అరికట్టడము. ముట్టడించు or ముట్టడివేయు muṭṭaḍ-inṭsu. v. a. To besiege. ఊరుచుట్టుకొని అరికట్టుకొను. ముట్టడము or ముట్టణము muṭṭaḍamu. n. Compulsion, oppression, నిర్భంధము. The act of laying siege to a place, ముట్టడించుట. ముట్టించు muṭṭinṭsu. v. a. To cause to touch. To light a candle, to kindle, i.e., communicate (fire) తాకిమచు. ముట్టికాళ్లు muṭṭi-kāḷḷu. n. Knees that touch. ముట్టికాళ్లవాడు. a knock-kneed man. ముట్టికాళ్లువేసికొను to kneel down. ముట్టుపడు muṭṭu-paḍu. v. n. To be troublesome, సంకటమగు. ముట్టుపాటు muṭṭu-pāṭu. n. Trouble, సంకటము. ముట్టుసందు muṭṭu-sandu. n. A blind alley. ఆవల పోవుటకు దారిలేనిది.

(p. 1096) lagga lagga. [Tel.] n. An escalade, scaling, (ముట్టడించి) కోటపైకిపాకడము. లగ్గలెక్కు, లగ్గపట్టు or లగ్గలుపట్టు to scale a fort, ముట్టడి వేసి కోటనెక్కు. లగ్గదింపు lagga-dimpu. n. Assualt bafflers; (these were stones kept upon fortresses to be rolled down upon the besiegers.) కోటమీదనుంచి శత్రువులపైకి దొర్లించేబండలు.
