(p. 4) aṅgazālavāḍu angazāla vāḍu. [Tel.] A village drudge, one who is at every man's bidding.

(p. 128) āśramamu āṣramamu. [Skt.] n. Abode, cell, hermitage, retreat (equivalent to a Living, rectory or see). State, stage, period or time of life from a religious point of view. There are four such stages, viz, 1. బ్రహ్మచర్యము bachelorhood or studentship. 2. గార్హస్థ్యము house-holdership or being head of a family. 3. వానప్రస్థము being an anchorite. 4. సన్యాసము being a recluse. ఆశ్రమధర్మము the duties peculiar to each stage of life. ఆశ్రమస్వీకారము āṣrama-svīkāramu. n. Embracing the ascetic condition: bidding farewell to the world.

(p. 173) ūgu or ఊగులాడు or ఊగాడు ūgu. [Tel.] v. n. To be agitated or shaken, to swing, to wag, roll. ఊగించు ūginṭsu (causal of ఊగు) v. a. To shake, to move, to swing or rock. ఊగులాట ūgul-aṭa. (ఊగులు+ఆట) n. Swinging: tottering. ఊచు ūṭsu. [Tel. causal of ఊగు] v. a. To swing, cause, to swing, to wag or shake, rock, nod. ఊగజేయు. చెయ్యి ఊచు to shake or wave (the hand in forbidding) or to say no, to forbid by the hand.

(p. 654) nimantraṇamu ni-mantranamu. [Skt.] n. An invitation, bidding guests to the annual ceremony of making offerings to the manes of deceased ancestors. నిమంత్రించు ni-mantrinṭsu. v. a. To invite, to invite guests to a feast at an annual ceremony held in honor of departed ancestors. నిమంత్రుడు nimantrituḍu. n. One who is so invited, నిమంత్రింపబడినవాడు.

(p. 664) niṣēdhamu nishēdhamu. [Skt.] n. Prohibition, stoppage, contrariety to rule, irregularity. adj. Prohibitory, forbidding. నిషేధార్థము nishēdh-ārthamu. n. The negative tense, in verbs. నిషేధించు nishēdinṭsu. v.a To prohibit, forbid.
