(p. 218) ōra ōra. [Tel.] n. The side, border, edge. అంచు. A whole day and night అహోరాత్రము. ఒక ఓరను ఉంటిమి we stood on one side. ఓరగా sidelong, sideways. తలుపోరగా చేసెor ఓరవాకిలి చేసినది she opened the door a little, or, set it a jar. ఓరబోయి becoming crooked వంకరపోయి. BD. vi. ఓరచూపు ōra-ṭsūpu. n. A sidelong glance. బెళుకుటోర యొయారపు చూపు leeringly. ఓరంతపొద్దు ōranta-poddu. (ఓర+అంత+ప్రొద్దు) the livelong day, all day long, దినమంతయు, ఆసాయము. (p. 248) kammi kammi. [Tel.] n. A wire, bar, beam. Border, a fringe, edging. అంచు. A felloe బండికంటికడకమ్మి, కంబి. బ్రహ్మకమ్మి, ముక్కుకమ్మి, or ముక్కమ్మి a nose ring. కమ్మి తీసిపోయినది there is a peg loose, i.e., the plot is discovered. కమ్మిచీర a fringed cloth, or one with a border, edging, or selvage. కమ్మిబండి kammi-banḍi. A cart with wheels having spokes and felloes on the wheels, as opposed to చెకడాబండి a cart with solid wheels.

(p. 249) karakañcu karak-anṭsu. [Tel. కరక+అంచు.] n. A border dyed with the juice of the Myrobalan.

(p. 249) karakasa or కరకసా karakasa. [Tel.] n. Ill will, contention, jealousy, spite. A contest regarding boundaries of land. A border feud. కరకసభూమి. కరకసాస్థలము disputed land, debatable ground.

A limit, a boundary. ఎల్ల. గడికొల్లలు plundering on the borders. గడినేలలు boundary lands. గడిమెకము a cunning animal which evades the hunter వేటకుచిక్కని మృగము. గడితేరు to be expert, నిపుణుడగు, కడలేరు. plu. గళ్లు. గళ్లుచేయు to mark the boundaries. గడి gaḍi. n. Strength, a stronghold, fortalice or petty fort బలము. కోట, దుర్గము. గడి adj. Big, stout. గడిగుండు a big stone. గడితాడు a stout rope. A tether, a couple for two cattle. గడికాళ్లువేయు to tie up the legs of two animals together with a rope. రెండు పశువులకు ఒక్కొక్క కాలుచేర్చి లంకెవేయు. గడిదొంగ a great clever thief. గడికరణము the principal writer. గడిపోతు a bull ఆబోతు; a great scoundrel, చెడ్డగొడ్డు.

(p. 391) gōṭu gōṭu. [Tel.] n. Trimness, foppery. ఒయ్యారము. Trinkets, a sort of broad glass or gold bracelets. Finery. Trimming, fringe, ribbon, edging, hem. సరిగ పట్టెగోటు a lace border. గోటుకత్తె gōṭu-katte. n. A beau. ఒయ్యారి. గోటుకాడు gōṭu-kāḍu. n. A fop. ఒయ్యారకాడు. గోటుగానుండే fine, flaunting. గోటుపోక gōṭu-pōka. n. An inferior kind of areca nut.

(p. 452) cūru ṭsūru. [Tel.] n. A cornice, border, ledge: shelf on a wall: the eaves of a roof. కాలుపట్టియీడ్చితే చూరుపట్టి వ్రేలాడుతాను though you haul me by the legs I will hang on to the eaves, i.e., though thou reject me I will not cease to cling to thee. చూరు v. n. To be charred or smoked. చూరుకర్ర or పొగ చూరుకర్ర charred wood చూరుకమ్మి or చూరుపట్టె ṭsūru-kammi. n. The lath that closes in a shelving roof ముంజూరున పెండెకు ఎత్తుగావేసిన కమ్మి. చూరుకుట్టు ṭsūru-kuṭṭu. n. The roof bands. చూరెలుక ṭsūr-cluka. n. The eaves' mouse, or house-mouse.

(p. 425) ceṅgu chengu. [Tel.] n. A skirt, border, edge. కొంగు, అంచు. In marriage the couple are tied together by the corners of their skirts. Hence, ఈ పనికి చెంగువేసినాడు he is wedded to this business. నీకు చెంగుకట్టినాను I am irrevocably thy servant. చెంగుపట్టి అడుగు to seize one by the skirt as a beggar does.

(p. 492) ḍabbu ḍabbu. [Tel.] n. A copper coin worth either three or four copper pies చిన్నమెత్తురాగిముద్ర. Cash, money దుడ్డు, Wealth ధనము. A colour or streak. Fiction, falsehood, guile. బొంకు. Display, lavishness. డబ్బుగల rich. పాతడబ్బు a coin worth four pies. కొత్తడబ్బు a copper coin worth three pies, a quarter anna. ఈ చీర అంచు డబ్బుగా (or డాబుగా) నున్నది it has a streaked or rich border. v. a. To make up, feign, fabricate. ఒకడబ్బుడబ్బి making up a story.

(p. 588) dāpu dāpu. [Tel.] n. Nearness. సమీపము. Fear, భయము. 'దాపులేని రణంబు నేటికి దానవోత్తమచూడగాన్.' మై. i. ఆ యిల్లు నాకు దాపు నీకు దూరము that house is near to me and far from you. adj. Neighbouring, next, bordering on. v. a. To hide, దాచు. దాపించు dāpinṭsu. v. n. To approach. సమీపించు. v. a. To cause to be hidden. To have hidden, to cause to hide. దాపుడు dāpuḍu. n. Hiding. దాచుట. దాపుడచీర dāpuḍu-chīra. n. Clothes that are laid by, i.e., holiday clothes, as distinguished from కట్టుకోక. దాపున dāpu-na. (abl. of దాపు.) adv. Near, by. దాపుమూపులు dāpu-mūpulu. (anuk) n. Hiding and concealing. దాపురము, దాపరికము or దాపరము dāpuramu. n. Concealment. మరుగుపుచ్చుట. A hoard, దాచినసొమ్ము.
