(p. 116) ānugamu or అనుగుతీగె ānugamu. [Tel.] n. The creeper of the long bottle gourd. cucurbita lagenaris.

(p. 185) eḍu eḍu. [Tel.] An affix denoting quantity (like full in a cup-ful, a bagful) పరిమాణార్థకము. మూరెడు a cubit, as much as a cubit. బారెడు an ell-long. బుడ్డెడు a bottleful. To this word the affix ఏసి is sometimes added: గంపేడేసి by basketfuls, a basketful at a time. cఎడు or ఎడి an affix applied to participles, does not alter the sense, as పోవు or పోయెడు going.

(p. 273) kāya kāya. [Tel. from కాచు.] n. 1. A green unripe fruit. అరటికాయలు green plantains. 2. A nut, berry, pod, bulb, knob, head. 3. Anything round, as the head (తలకాయ) the bob of a plummet: a boss or round piece. 4. The word is used for a thing or article: as a piece at chess తుంటకాయ a wicked thing or creature. 5. A pimple: a wart. తవ్వడముచేత వాడిచేతులు కాయలుకాచినవి his hands are callous or hard with digging: he has a wart on his hand. 7. A bottle. రెండు కాయలను ఒకడే తీసుకొన్నాడు he alone drank two bottles. 8. As an affix it often leaves the sense unaltered: thus తల or తలకాయ the head. పిల్ల or పిల్లకాయ a child. గొంతు or గొంతుకాయ the throat. పుస్తె or పుస్తెకాయ a marriage token worn on the neck మొట్టు or మొట్టికాయ a blow or knock. ఎండ్రకాయ a crab. చెంపకాయ a slap on the cheek. Some fruits are called కాయ even though ripe, thus (from టెంకి shell) టెంకాయ a cocoanut. మిరపకాయ a chillie. ఉల్లికాయ an onion. కూరగాయలు or కాయగూరలు vegetables. కాయధాన్యములు kāya-dhānyamulu. n. Pulse: all sorts of grain contained in pods: as పెసలు, కందులు, సెనగలు, &c.

(p. 293) kutuḥ or కుతువు kutuh. [Skt.] n. An oil bottle. సిద్దె. కూతూగణములు a set of bottles. H. v. 3.

(p. 294) kudiliñcu kudil-inṭsu. [Tel. from కుదులు.] v. a. to shake violently (as water in a bottle), to agitate. To ram down a cartridge in a gun. To jog, jolt, jostle. కదిలిక shaking కుదులుట.

(p. 295) kuppe kuppe [Tel.] n. A knob. గుబ్బ. The knot at the root of a tress of false hair. A sort of ornament in masonry. A long necked bottle. మెడనిడుపుగాగల కాదపాత్రము. గాజుకుప్పె a glass bottle. కుప్పెకట్టు ఔషధములు medicine calcined in a bottle. కాశికుప్పే a bottle full of Ganges water.

(p. 317) koṭṭu koṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To strike, knock. smite, beat, thrash. To attack (as rats do.) To rob, as highwaymen do. To quash, refute, defeat, dismiss, nonsuit. To strike off (the head) or behead. To strike out or rescind (a word). దారులు కొట్టు to rob (on) the high road. గోడను కాగితముకొట్టు to put (or stick) a paper on the wall. చప్పట్లుకొట్టు to clap the hands. అచ్చుకొట్టు to print. కొర్రుకొట్టు to impale. ఈతకొట్టు to swim. నన్నుముకొట్టు to whitewash. నన్ను దొంగలుకొట్టినారు thieves robbed me. చెంపకొట్టు to give a slap on the cheek. బుడ్డికొట్టు to crack a bottle, i.e, drink liquor. తలకొట్టు to behead, to ruin. పిండికొట్టు to pound flour. డేరాకొట్టు to pitch a tent. ఊడగొట్టు to loosen. చెడగొట్టు to spoil or ruin. తేలగొట్టు to set afloat. దిగగొట్టు to drive in. నలియగొట్టు to bruise. పండ్లు రాలగొట్టు to knock out a man's teeth. పగలగొట్టు a break to pieces. పడగొట్టు to throw down. పోగొట్టు to lose. విరుగగొట్టు to break; సాగగొట్టు to beat out (metal). ఊకొట్టు to hum in assent while listening. బుసకొట్టు to hiss. వాడు చేసిన దౌర్జన్యము వాణ్ని కొట్టినది his wickedness has fallen on his own head. నా నోట్లో మన్ను కొట్టినారు they have cast earth into my mouth, i.e., cheated or ruined me. కొట్టించు koṭṭinṭsu. v. t. To cause to beat.

(p. 330) kōvi or క్రోవి kōvi. [Tel.] n. A tube, గొట్టము. An orifice, opening. A musket తుపాకి. చేతికోవి a pistol (రా. వి. v.) A bottle బుడ్డి. (నీలా. iii.) A flute. ముక్కుకోవి a nostril. గొంతుకోవి the gullet, పుట్టకోవులు the openings or mouths of a white ant hill. కోవిపుండు a sinus or opening in a boil: a corn on the foot. కపురంపుకోవులు pastiles of camphor. తేనె కోవి a honey comb. కోవులు round tiles used in roofs, which are truncated and bisected cones. కొండెములక్రోవి a mere pack of lies.
