Camphor. పచ్చకర్పూరము crude camphor. రసకర్పూరము calomel. కర్పూరనూనె camphor oil. కర్పూర అరిటిపండు a fragrant kind of plantain. కర్పూరవంకాయ a kind of small brinjal. కర్పూరబెండ a certain vegetable. కర్పూరవల్లి karpūra-valli. See under ఓనము. కర్పూరశిలాజతు karpūra-ṣilā-jatu. n. A foliated crystallized gypsum, the powder of which, like white alabaster, is used in the preparation of stucco and as a medicine for ulcers. (p. 304) kūra kūra. [Tel.] n. A herb, herbs, vegetables, garden stuff. A mess of food, curry even including flesh. ఆకుకూరలు salads or leafy vegetables. కాయగూరలు or కూరగాయలు herbs that bear a fruit or pod, such as beans, peas, brinjals, melons &c. కూరనార herbs and so forth. కూరపనువు saffron which is added to curries కూరాకుపురుగు the canker worm that destroys herbs.

(p. 564) tōṭa tōṭa. [Tel.] n. A garden. తోటకాపు, తోటమాలి, తోటవాడు or తోటీడు' a gardener. తోటకూర tōṭa-kūra. n. Greens, garden herbs. The green produce of a garden is divided into ఆకుకూరలు or తోటకూరలు vegetables, the leaf of which is eaten, such as spinach and cabbage: and కాయకూరలు of which the pod, fruit, or head is eaten, such as brinjals, cucumbers, &c. కొయ్యతోటకూర or కొయ్యగూర is the phrase for all such plants as sprout after being cut, like camomile: and పెరుగుతోటకూర is the class of herbs which do not send forth shoots after being cut. తోటకూర is also a particular herb, called Braid in French. Amaranthus Tristis, (Rox. iii. 604.) Amaranthus gangeticus, or Amaranthus oleraccus. పెద్దతోటకూర Amaranthus giganteus. దొగ్గలితోటకూర Amaranthus polygamus. ముళ్లతోటకూర or నల్లదొగ్గలితోటకూర the Pricklly Amaranth, Amaranthus spinosus. ఎర్రకోడిజుట్టు తోటకూర or మయూరశిఖి Celosia cristata (Watts.) సిగ్గనగా తోటకూరవంటిది modesty grows anew in the heart like a cropped herb. తోటకూరవంటి like mere green stuff, i.e., weak, feeble తోటకూరవంటిపని a mere greenherb business. తోటకూరగింజవంటిది small as a mustard seed.

(p. 668) nīru nīru. [Tel. of. Tam. తన్నీర్.] n. Water. ఉదకము. Fluid. టెంకాయనీరు cocoanut water. Bad humors in the body. బళ్లునిరుపట్టినది the body is bloated. Urine, మూత్రము. కొత్తనీరు freshes in a river or rain water. కన్నీరు a tear. plu: నీళ్లు water. కంట నీళ్లుపెట్టుకొన్నది She shed tears. మంచినీళ్లు తాగినతీరుగా coolly, as easily as if drinking water. నీరుగుట to melt away, perish, turn to water. బంగారునీరు gilding, gold water. బంగారునీరుపోయు to gild, to dissolve gold. నీటికానుపు or నీటిచూలి nīṭi-kānupu n.
