(p. 152) uḍuku uḍuku. [Tel.] v. n. To boil, to bubble with heat, to seethe. To be hot, feverish from heat, to boil with rage. ఉడుకు uḍuku. n. Boiling, ebullition, bubbling, heat. తాపము. ఉడుకు uḍuku adj. Hot. ఉడుకుబోతు uḍuku-bōtu. [Tel. ఉడుకు+పోతు] n. An envious wretch ఓర్వలేనివాడు, ఈర్ష్యాళువు. ఉడికించు uḍikinṭsu. v. t. To cause to boil, to debase, disgrace. To displease, offend, annoy. నొప్పించు, బాధించు. 'రిత్తయుపచారములనే నుత్తముడగుధర్మతనయు నుడికించితిదు ర్వృత్తులగు నాదుసుతులకు.' M. V. ii. 81.

(p. 373) guṭaka guṭaka. [Tel.] n. A single gulp. ఒక్కసారి మింగగలిగినంతది. గుటగుట guṭa-guṭa. adv. (Anuk of a growl, a growling sound.) Aloud. (Also of a gulping, bubbling, simmering sound) Rustingly, crashingly. 'బెబ్బులుల్ గుహలనిర్భీతి గూర్కుచుకానజిటుకన్న గుటగుటార్భటుల ' Suriya. iv. 60. గుటుకు గుటుక్కు or గుడుక్కు guṭuku. n. A gulp, a sob. గుటుక్కను or గుటుక్కుమను to sob, gulp: to die, expire. దాన్ని గుటుక్కునమింగెను he swallowed it at a gulp.

(p. 800) poṅgu pongu. [Tel.] v. n. To effervesce; to boil or bubble up, overflow, boil over. To swell. To forment. To exult, to be overjoyed, elated, to be in ecstasy. సంతోషించు. To become proud, గర్వించు. పొంగి బోర్లపడు to boil over with pride or delight. ఎండచేత కండ్లు పొంగినవి the eyes are inflamed by the glare. పొంగునీళ్లు boiling water. పొంగు pongu. n. Effervescence, boiling or bubbling up, overflowing. Excess of joy. సంతోషము. Pride, గర్వము. Eruption of the measles. Boiling water in which rice is to be cooked, ఎసరుకాగిననీళ్లు, చిట్టుడుకునీళ్లు. ఎసరుపొంగి పోతున్నది the water is boiling over. నీ పొంగుకుంగ may your pride perish. ఇదియేమి చూచుకొన్న పొంగు on what do you pride yourself? పొంగులక్షణము symptoms of an eruption of measles. పొంగుప్రాలు pongu-prālu. n. A sort of grain. పొంగలించు pongalinṭsu. v. n. To stand erect; to be proud, నిక్కు. పొంగారు pong-āru. (పొంగు+ఆరు.) v. n. To be full, నిండారు., To swell out, ఉబుకు. To rejoice, సంతోషించు. To excel, to be proud, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు, నిక్కు 'తూర్యములపటుధ్వాన మడరినింగి పొంగారె నత్యంత నిశ్చలంబులయ్యె సైనికినికరంబులద్భుతముగ.' M. VIII. iii. 273. పొంగించు ponginṭsu. To boil. To delight, to please much. చేరెడుబియ్యము పొంగించుకొనినాడు he boiled a handful of rice.

(p. 893) busa busa. [Tel. anuk.] n. A puff, or whizz. Hissing, snorting, snoring, deep breathing. A sigh, నిట్టూర్పు. వాని ఒళ్లు బుసబుసలాడుచున్నది he is puffed up and strenthless. బుసకొట్టు or బుసలుకొట్టు to breathe, hiss, or puff audibly as a cobra does, or as an elephant does with its trunk, పుత్కారముచేయు. To sigh, నిట్టూర్చు. బుసబుస busa-busa. n. A bubbling sound, as of boiling water. Ebullition. బుసబుసలాడు busa-busa-l-āḍu. v. n. To boil, to hiss, బుసపెట్టు.
