(p. 244) kapile kapile. [Tel.] n. A water lift consisting of a large leathern bucket which is raised and lowered by a rope passing over a wheel and drawn by bullocks. మోట. కపిలెతోలు to draw water by means of such a water-lift. కపిలెగుండు the iron ring that forms the lip of the leather bucket in such a well.

A polishing stone used by masons in plastering. కసిలెగుండు the iron hoop that forms the lip of a leathern bucket. adj. Round, globular, spherical. గుండుకొట్టు gunḍu-koṭṭu. n. To smoke the drug called bhang. gunḍu-kōvi. n. A small cannon, a swivel. పెట్లదిమ్మ. See గుండుగిలు gunḍu-gilu. v. n. To move in a circle. చుట్టుపడు. గుండుగుత్త gunḍu-gutta. n. An all-round settlement, i.e., a lease which covers all rights and privileges. సమస్త స్వాతంత్య్రముతో ఇచ్చే గుత్త, బిల్మక్తా. గుండుకొను or గుండుగూడుకొను gunḍu-konu. v. n. To unite, to make one common effort. To surround చుట్టుకొను. 'అప్పుడందరును హాహాకారంబులన్ గుండుగూడుకొని సవరింపంగ.' G. ix. 65. గుండుములుగాడు gunḍu-mulupu-gāḍu. The Nightjar or the goatsucker, గుండువేయు gunḍu-vēyu. v. n. To fire a gun: to die. గుండు వేసి కాల్చు to fire a ball at. గుండుసూది gunḍu-sūdi. n. A pin. గుండ్రాయి gunḍ-rāyi. n. (p. 383) gūḍa gūḍa. [Tel.] n. A triangular basket used as a bucket. A mat hood or cover against rain. A basket in which a Vaishnavite devotee keeps his images used in worship. A flower basket. గూడకట్టు gūḍa-kaṭṭu. n. Tying a cloth round the waist like a petticoat, without tucking it up between the legs. అడ్డకట్టు. గూడకొంగ or గూడబాతు gūḍa-bāṭu. n. A pelican, Pelicanus Philippensis (F.B.I.). గూడవేయు gūḍa-vēyu. v. n. To water fields with a basket or bucket.

(p. 391) gōci gōchi. [Tel.] n. A clout. A truss or flap; a waist cloth. ఇనుపగోచి an iron buckle fabled to be worn by ascetics. వాడు ఇనుప గోచికట్టినాడు he took a vow of chastity. కోకగోచిపెట్టుకొను to draw the skirt of the petticoat between the thighs, and tuck it into the waist behind. గోచిదరిద్రము nakedness, utter poverty. గోచికాడై stripped naked. A parrot. ముద్దులచిలక my darling! my pet! చిలకపలుకులు Sweet accents. తెల్లచిలక a cockatoo. పంచరంగుచిలక the maccaw. మైనాచిలక the maina. పుట్టలచిలక or అడివిచిలక the Sirkeer Cuckoo. Jerdon. No. 230. రామచిలక. The Rose-ringed Paroquet, Palaeornis torquatus (so called because taught to reiterate the name of Rāma.) అకుచిలక the Western Blossom-headed Paroquet, Palacornis cyanōecphalus. The name is given to some insects, as a moth, thus, ఆకుచిలక, వడ్లచిలక a moth. గడ్డిచిలక, సీతాకోకచిలక a butterfly. A padlock. The bolt or hasp of a door, because these originally had parrot's heads on them. చిలుకల కొలికి a bright-eyed girl or woman. చక్కని స్త్రీ. చిలకకూర or చిలకతోటకూర chilaka-kūra. n. A kind of pot-herb, Amarantus fasciatus. (Watts.) చిలక, చిలకట or చిలుకడ chilaka. n. A saddle buckle: a ring at the end of the rope used as a girth of the bullock saddle through which the other end is passed to fasten the saddle. కొలికిముడి. చిలకడతాడు chilakada-tāḍu. n. A girth. ఎద్దుమీదికందళము, గంతబిగించేతాడు. చిలకకొయ్య or చిలుకకొయ్య chilaka-koyya. n. A wooden pin fixed in the wall, on which articles are suspended. చిలగడ chilagaḍa. (చిలుక+గడ.) n. The cord that fastens a dagger, to prevent its falling out of the sheath. చిలకతాళము chilaka-tāḷamu. n. A padlock. చిలకతాళి or చిలుకతాళి chilaka-tāḷi. n. A gold buckle in the form of a pair of parrots. చిలుకదుదుడి chilaka-duduḍi. n. The name of a certain tree. చిలకపచ్చ chilaka-paṭsṭsa. n. Bright green, parrot green. చిలకమొక్క or చిలకముక్కు chilaka-mokka. n. (lit. Parrot's bill.) A plant called crotolaria. శుకాననము, శుకనాస. Heyne, 130. The purple red and white scentless flower called Balsam. చిలకరౌతు chilaka-rautu. n. Lit: He whose steed is the parrot: an epithet of మన్మథ the god of love. చిలుక కోణము chiluka-kōṃamu. n. A 'T bandage,' or clout.

A key. మాట చెవినిపెట్టు to give ear to, to hearken. చెవులు గడియలు పడ్డవి his ears were ringing through faintness. పత్రముయొక్క చెవి the tip or margin of a written bond. పత్రపు చెవి చించు to cancel a bond by tearing the leaf so as to disengage it from the cord on which palm leaf volumes are strung. చెవికొన or చెవికొణక the tip of the ear. చెవిటి cheviṭi. [చెవి+అవిటి.] adj. Deaf. n. A deaf man. బథిరుడు. చెవిటివ్యవహారము an unspeakable or unutterable iniquity, lit. one which makes one story one's ears. చెవిటిమూగ cheviṭi-mūga. n. A deaf mute. చెవుడును మూగతనమును గలవాడు. చెవినిల్లుగట్టుకొని చెప్పు to reiterate a precept, as though keeping ti always dwelling in the ear. Mrityanjaya Vilasam ii. 38.--40. To become deaf. చెవుడుపరుచు to deafen. చెవులపిల్లి chevula-pilli. n. The black-naped Hare, Lepus nigricollis. (F.B.I.) కుందేలు. చెవులపోతు chevula-pōtu. n. A buck hare కుందేలు, శశకము.

(p. 434) cēda chēda. [Tel.] n. The rope fastened to a bucket for drawing water. Also, a bucket. నీళ్లుచేదేపాత్ర. చేదనీళ్లలు a bucket of water. చేదబావి a draw well.

(p. 434) cēdu chēdu. [Tel.] v. a. To draw up (as a bucket) hand over hand. ఆకర్షించు, తోడు. To raise (an anchor.) చేదుడు బావి chēduḍu-bāvi. n. A draw well, in which the bucket is raised by the hand.

(p. 517) talumu talumu. [Tel.] n. A sort of winch for raising a bucket.

(p. 567) tōlu or త్రోలు tōlu. [Tel.] v. a. To drive. వాటిని తన మందలోకి తోలుకొన్నాడు he drove them into his flock. కపిలతోలు to draw (water,) with a bucket, raised by oxen, to work (a pump.) పోదోలు to drive off, తోలివేయు to drive off, to rout. తోలించు, తోలుచు or తోల్చచు tōlinṭsu. v. n. To cause to drive, &c. తోలలుపార tōlu-pāra. n. A sort of fish called Scombar. Russell, plate 137: also called సుద్దుపార.
