(p. 149) ukku ukku. [Tel.] n. Steel. Strength, courage, pride, vigour, potency. అయస్సారము, బలము, శౌర్యము. Steadiness. స్థైర్యము. తెలగ ఉక్కు. A very tough sort of steel. R. v. 197. ఉక్కు తీగె ukku-tīge. n. Steel wire. ఉక్కుతునక or ఉక్కుముక్క ukku-tunaka. n. A bit of steel, a brave, sharp or active man. ఉక్కు ముఖి ukku-mukhi. n. The crimson crested barbet, or coppersmith bird, Xantholaema haemaxtocephala. (F.B.I.) ఉక్కుసున్నము ukku-sunnamu. n. Ashes of calcined iron, scoriæ calx. ఉక్కడగించు or ఉక్కడచు ukkaḍaginṭsu. v. a. (ఉక్కు+అరు) v. n. To ebb (as strength), to be exhausted, to faint. To lose one's vigour. ఉక్కుచెడు. To die. చచ్చు. ఉక్కరి having lost vigor. సామర్థ్యము లేకపోయి. ఉక్కుమడగు ukku-maḍagu. v. i. To lose vigor. To die. ఉక్కమడచు to kill.

(p. 252) karuku karuku. [Tel.] n. Sharpness, harshness, roughness, medicinal drugs burnt to ashes. కరకు. మందాకుమాడ్చి రాచినపొడి. కరుకు v. n. To rub. రాచు. కరుకువరహా a coin worth nearly four rupees, commonly called Behadari, or Three Swamy Pagoda. కరుకువేయు or కక్కువేయు to set a saw or sickle. To burn or calcine medicinal drugs. See కరకు.

(p. 295) kuppe kuppe [Tel.] n. A knob. గుబ్బ. The knot at the root of a tress of false hair. A sort of ornament in masonry. A long necked bottle. మెడనిడుపుగాగల కాదపాత్రము. గాజుకుప్పె a glass bottle. కుప్పెకట్టు ఔషధములు medicine calcined in a bottle. కాశికుప్పే a bottle full of Ganges water.

(p. 319) kopuru , కొప్పరము or కొప్రము kopuru. [Tel.] n. A shoulder, the scapula or shoulder blade. The hump of an ox. మూపు, భుజిశిరస్సు. కొప్పరించు koppar-inṭsu. n. To grin. ఇగిలించు. To heat metal in the fire, to calcine a drug. కాల్చు, పుటమువేయ. To be proud అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు . 'రేవెలుంగురాచిప్పలం గప్పురంపు గుప్పేలం గొప్పరించిన.' Parij. ii. 60. కొప్పరింత koppar-inta. n. Pride. అతిశయము, విజృంభణము.

(p. 764) puṭamu puṭamu. [Skt.] n. A fold, a doubling. The cup or hollow formed by a fold, as in a flower or leaf or in any roll or in the joined hands, దొప్ప. A flower basket, పూలబుట్ట. A horse's hoof, గుర్రపు కాలిగొర౛. Burning or refining a metal, calcining a medicinal drug. A kind of horse's pace, అశ్వగతిభేదము. నాసికాపుటము the calix of the nose, i.e., the nose. పుటముపెట్టు or పుటమువేయు to heat metal in the fire, to calcine a drug. 'పనివిని తీవెగుంపనక, పాండురసైకత నిర్ఘరీతటం బనక, దరీపుటం బనక, నన్నియు నారసి.' Vasu. ii. 46. పుటముబ్బ puṭam-ubbu. (పుటము+ఉబ్బు.) v. n. To swell upwards, మీదికుబ్బు. పుటమొగయు puṭam-cgayu. v. n.
