(p. 157) udayamu udayamu. [Skt.] n. Birth. పుట్టుక. The rising of the sun or other heavenly bodies, the morning. ఉదయాన in the morning. ఉదయాద్రి udayādri. n. The eastern mountain behind which the sun is supposed to be born. ఉదయరాగము Morning carol. A particular sort of red silk. ఉదయించు udayinṭsu. v. a. To be born. To rise. To begin or originate, as a quarrel or an opinion. To arise or become celebrated. కుటిలబుద్ధి ఉదయించి crooked thoughts having arisen in the mind.

(p. 201) ēla ēla. [Tel.] n. A hurrah, or hoop. A carol or catch used by rowers of boats శృంగారపు పాట. 'ఏటికట్టగుడిసెవేతాం ఏరువస్తే కూడాపోదాం ఓ, ఓ, గొల్లభామా!' (The books named గరుడాచలము, ఆటభాగవతము, పారిజాతము, &c. contain many specimens of these carols.) Also, a chorus of applause. ఏలపాటలు a kind of play, a game played by children బాలక్రీడావిశేషము. (p. 201) ēlapadamu or ఏలపాట ēla-padamu. [Tel.] n. A carol or balled. See ఏల.

(p. 782) pūsa pūsa. [Tel.] n. A bead, మణి. A joint of a finger, వ్రేలులోనగువాని కీలు. A bit or piece. వెన్నుపూసలు the joints of the backbone. ముడ్డిపూస the rump, os coccyx. 'చిటివేలిపూసపై ఘటియిల్లు పెడకట్టి చిమ్ముల నురియడాల్ముమ్మరముగ.' A. vi. 104. వెన్నపూస a bit of butter, i.e., butter. 'పుట్టనియట్టి బిడ్డలకు పూసలు కట్టుదు రమ్మలక్కలు.' (Ahalya. iii. 63.) women call for necklaces for their children before they are born, i.e., they count the chickens before they are hatched. పూసగ్రుచ్చినరీతి (KP. iv. 193.) in regular order. పూసకజ్జెము pūsa-kajjemu. n. The sweetmeat called maccaroons. పూసకామంచిగడ్డి or పూసలకామంచిగడ్డి pūsa-kāmanchi-gaḍḍi. n. A kind of కామంచి. పూసగురువెంద pūsa-guruvenda. n. A kind of head. గుంజాలత. పూసయొమ్ము or పూసయెముక the back bone, వెన్నుపూస. 'చేదోయికురుచయై చెవులు నిల్వంకలై పూసయెమ్ముకలు పొంచుకట్టి.' Kāsi Khānd. vi. 48. పూసలవాడు pūsala-vāḍu. n. One who sells beads, one who polishes precious stones, రత్నములు సానపెట్టువాడు.

(p. 1407) manya manya. [Skt.] n. The carotid artery.

(p. 1345) suvvālu, suvālu, suvvāla, suvāla. suvvalāla or సువ్వి suvvālu. [Tel. సువ్వి+ఆల.] interj. A word or chorus used in carols, like 'derry down down'. సువ్వి sūvvi. n. The noise made by persons while pounding rice, దంచుటయందగు ధ్వన్యనుకరణము.
