(p. 17) aṃśamu amṣamu. [Skt] n. A share, part, portion, a fraction; the denominator of one; a degree of latitude or longitude (Geog.); a subject భాగము, విషయము, దేవుని యంశమున పుట్టినవాడు he who is born from a portion of the deity, he who is of divine origin; అంశపురుషుడు a fortunate man, a man of talent or parts. వర్ణనాంశము a descriptive part or passage in a poem. ఈ అంశము నాకు తెలుసును I am acquainted with this subject. ఈ అంశములో in this respect. వాడు అన్ని అంశములు తెలిసినవాడు he knows every thing. అంశచక్రము a table consulted by astrologers in casting nativities, an astrological diagram for ascertaining the degree of the sun in any sign. దశాంసము the tenth part; అంశసవరణ = reduction of fractions; అంశనీయము or అంశ్యము = that which is divisible.

(p. 92) avakṣēpamu ava-kshēpamu. [Skt.] n. The act of discarding a thing after finding fault with it. తప్పు మాపి విసర్జించడము. Sarcasm, irony. సోల్లుంఠనము, ఆయములెత్తి ఆడడము, పొడుపుడు మాటలు. అవక్షిప్తము adj. Discarded as faulty, sarcastic, ironical, having an insinuation. తప్పుమోపి విసర్జింపబడినది, సోల్లుంఠనమైన.

(p. 451) cūcu ṭsūṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To see, to look, view, observe, perceive. To consider, meditate, think on. To visit. To wait. To take care, be on one's guard. To regard, care for. To try, to attempt, to see to. To experience, try, prove by any sense. చేతితో చూస్తిని I felt it with my hand. చవిచూస్తిని, రుచిచూస్తిని I tasted it. To estimate, to judge. రాజూచు to acknowledge the receipt. మరలిపోవజూచు to think of going back. అతని ప్రాణముచూడక not caring for his life. సమయముచూచు or తరిచూచు to watch for an opportunity. ఉండజూచు to overhaul,to see that a thing is there. నన్ను చంపజూచిరి they tried to kill me. ప్రేమలొలుకు చూపుల జూచి casting glances that beam with love. సరిచూచు to examine, to see if a thing is right, to check. వాసనచూచు to smell. చెయ్యిచూచు to feel the pulse. వాడు చెప్పే మాటలు చూడు attend to what he says. అతని పని చూస్తున్నాను I am acting for him. నెలదినములమట్టుకు చూస్తిని I waited for a month. చూచుకొను ṭsūṭsu-konu. v. a. To see or perceive. To look silently, look for ourself.

(p. 1165) vikṣēpamu vi-kshēpamu. [Skt.] n. Throwing, propelling, casting. వేయడము. విసిరివేయడము, ఎగరవేయడము. Confusion, perplexity, distress of mind. క్షోభము, కదలిక. In astronomy, Latitude. విక్షేపించు vi-kshēpinṭsu. v. a. To toss up, ఎగరవేయు. To throw away. విసిరివేయు. విక్షేపణము vi-kshēpaṇamu. n. Scattering, dispersing Throwing. విక్షిప్తము vi-kshiptamu. adj. Tossed up, thrown with force.

(p. 1195) visaru or విసురు visaru. [Tel.] v. n. To come out, బయలుపడు To blow, as the wind, to spread, as a scent. గాలికొట్టు, వీచు, వాసనకొట్టు. లోగా అణిగి ఉన్న రోగమును బైట విసిరేలాగు చేసేమందు a searching medicine, a medicine that makes a hidden disease appear. లోనికాక బైటికివిసిరినది the latent fever came out. v. a. To wave as a fan, to brandish, whisk, flourish, as a sword or a whip. ఆడించు. వీచు. To throw, fling, hurl, sling, రువ్వు. To turn, to grind. తిరుగలివిసరు to turn a mill. వలవిసరు to cast or let down a net. n. Waving, casting, spreading. ఆడించుట. వీచుట, వేయుట, వ్యాపించడము. కాటకపువిసరుచేత through the spreading of the famine. విసరురాయి visaru-rāyi. n. A grindstone. తిరుగలి. వసరియాడు Same as విసరు. విసరికొట్టు or విసరికొట్టు visari-koṭṭu. v. a. To fling, to dash. రువ్వు. To scorn, to huff. కసురు. ఒకడబ్బు ఇమ్మంటే మూతితో ముఖములో విసిరికొట్టుచున్నది he asked for a penny, she gave him a scolding. ఆ కుండను గోడమీద విసిరికొట్టినాడు he dashed the pot against the wall. విసరివేయు or విసిరివేయు visari-vēyu. v. a. To hurl, fling. రువ్వు. ఊరిబైట విసరివేసినట్టుగానుండే ఒకయిల్లు a house that seemed as if it had been thrown out of the town.

(p. 1220) vēta or వ్రేత vēta. [Tel. from వేయు.] n. Throwing, casting a toss, a throw, a cast. వేయడము.

(p. 1231) vyaṅgyamu vyangyamu. [Skt.] n. Sarcasm, irony, covert expression of contempt, &c. అవక్షేపము, శ్లేషకథ. వ్యంగ్యోక్తి a sarcastic speech or expression. 'కాంతకిట్లనియెవ్వంగ్యము గానబడగ.' L. viii. 84. Impropriety, indecency, indelicacy, ఎబ్బెరికము. ఇది వారికి వ్యంగ్యముకాదు among them this is no indecency. వ్యంజకము vyanjakamu. adj. Making clear or plain, distinguishing, indicative or expressive of passion or feeling. ప్రకాశమైన, సుచకమైన, బోధకమైన. వ్యంజనము vyanjanamu. n. A mark, sign, token. గురుతు, చిహ్నము. A consonant (in grammar.) హల్లు. కాదిఅక్షరము. A sauce, or condiment. అన్నోపకరణము. కూర. వ్యంజితము vyanjitamu. adj. Made visible, manifested. బైలుపెట్టబడిన. (p. 1234) vyājamu vyājamu. [Skt.] n. An excuse, pretence, deceit, fruad. మిష, నెపము, కపటము. వ్యాజనింద vyāja-ninda. n. Praise in the guise of blame. A figure of rhetoric. నిందాస్తుతి, అలంకారభేదము. వ్యాజస్థుతి vyājā-stuti. n. Sarcastic praise, ironical commendation. స్తునింద. వ్యాజోక్తి vyāj-ōkti. n. Double entendre; words that convey an underhand meaning, a covert expression, an inuendo, ఛలోక్తి.
