(p. 109) āgu āgu. [Tel.] v. n. To stop, to stay, asbtain, refrain. To bear (as a cord does a weight.) To be confined, set aside, or reserved. ఆయింటను ఆగబడి యున్నదేవకి (B. X. 75.) Devaki who was kept in restraint. తల్లిదండ్రులులెని బాలురు ఆగ నీవు దిక్కు thou art the refuge of the helpless. పశువులకు ఆరినబీడు land set aside or reserved for pasture. ఇది లేనిది నాకు ఆగదు I cannot get on without this. నా నోటిలో ఆ మాట ఆగదు I cannot keep that word a secret. ఆగు, ఆగించు, ఆచు, ఆపు the causal of ఆగు: āgu. [Tel.] v. t. To stop, check, hinder. To keep, tend. To look to, superintend, guard, protect, preserve. To fold or gather as a flock. నోరాచి మాట్లాడిరి they spoke cautiously. చెయ్యి ఆపక (T. v. 22.) without intermission. నిద్ర ఆచుట to refrain from sleep, keep away drowsiness. రాత్రిళ్లు ఇక్కడ మందులు ఆచుకొని యుండేవారు they used to keep cattle here at nights.

(p. 461) jāgrata or జాగ్రత్త jāgrata. [Skt.] n. Vigilance, carefulness, caution, activity, adj. Vigilant careful, cautious, active, ready. జాగ్రద్భావము presence of mind. జాగ్రత్తగా with care. జాగ్రతచేయు to take care, to be careful, to make ready, to secure.

(p. 1190) vivēkamu vi-vēkamu. [Skt.] n. Discrimination, judgment, the faculty of distinguishing, prudence, discretion, సదసద్వివేచన, విభేదజ్ఞానము, తెలివి. 'వినువివేకమనెడు వింతగొడ్డలిచేత నలయవిద్యయనెడునడవినరికి.' Vema. 341. 'తనవివేకములోకమువారు మెచ్చగా.' T. ii. 38. వివేకములోకమువారు వివేకముకలిగియుండు to come to oneself, reflect, be wise. తెలివి తెచ్చుకొను. వివేకి vi-vēki. n. One who is cautious or prudent. తెలివిగలవాడు. వివేకించు or వివేచించు vi-vēkinṭsu. v. a. To reason, discriminate, distinguish. విమర్శచేయు, విచారించు, వివేచనచేయు. 'చదువులన్ని జదివి చాలవివేకింప కపటికెన్ననేలకలుగుముక్తి.' Vema. 429. వివేదన or వివేచనము vi-vēchaṇa. n. Discrimination, examination, investigation. విమర్శ, విచారణ. వర్ణవివేచన discrimination of caste.

(p. 1302) samāhitamu sam-āhitamu. [Skt.] adj. Well placed, settled, assembled, compiled, చక్కగా ఉంచబడిన. Promised, agreed, or assented to, అంగీకరింపబడిన, అంగీకృతమైన. Absorbed in meditation, engaged in devout meditation. Attentive, cautious. సమాధియందున్న, సమాధిస్థము, వినిహితము, సావధానమైన, సమాహితుడు sam-āhituḍu. n. One who is well placed. చక్కగా ఉంచబడినవాడు.

(p. 1385) havaṇiñcu or హవనించు havaṇinṭsu. [Kan.] v. a. To wear, to put on, to adorn, to set right. To perform, accomplish. To lay. ధరిమచు, అలంకరించు, చక్కబరచు, చెల్లించు, ఉంచు, పెట్టు. 'కమ్మబంగరు చాయ కర్ణికల్ హవణించి హంసకస్ఫూర్తిచే నతిశయించి.' T. iv. 154. 'ఆడినపంతంబు హవణించుకొంటి.' L. viii. 95. అనగా, చెల్లించుకొంటిని. హావణిల్లు havaṇ-illu. v. n. To shine, bloom, be slpendid. విలసిల్లు, వెలుగు, ప్రకాశించు. 'హవణిల్లుముత్యాల రవికదొడిగి.' Ila. i. 80. హవణింపు havaṇ-impu. n. Beautification, adorning, అలంకరణము. Vigilance, precaution, జాగరూకత. 'అసురూపరుచిసంపదలా హవణింపు సొంపులన్ హాళిమెయిన్ గనుంగొని.' T. ii. 78. హవణి, హవణిక or హవణు havani. n. Beauty. ఒప్పిదము. Carefulness, caution, పదిలము. జాగ్రత్త. ఎచ్చరిక. హవణుగ havaṇu-ga. adv.
