(p. 18) aṃsamu amsamu. [Skt.] n. A shoulder, భుజశిరస్సు. అంసకూటము, a bull's hump. అంసపాదికట్టె a small forked prop which supports the woodwork on which a roof is laid. A small forked stake used at intervals to relieve the shoulders of those who bear a car, &c., in procession. అంసఫలకము, the upper part of the spine.

(p. 20) akkara akkara. [Tel.] n. Necessity, occasion, want, need, desire, అగత్యము. అక్కరతీర్చు to relieve from want. అది నాకక్కరలేదు I do not want it. దీనితో నీకేమి అక్కర what have you to do with this? నీవక్కడికి రావలసిన అక్కరయేమి what business had you to come there? అక్కరకొద్దీ మాట్లాడుట to speak as necessity demands. అది అక్కరకురాదు it will be of no use. వాడికి ఆ పని అక్కరపట్టలేదు he does not care for it. అక్కరకాడు one who is in need. అక్కరగలవాడు; అక్కరగండడు one who has an interest in an affair. శ్రద్ధగలవాడు; అక్కరపడు, అక్కరగొను to feel an interest in a thing. అక్కరకలిగియుండు, అక్కరపాటు a state of necessity. అక్కరపడుట.

(p. 23) agatyamu agatyamu. [Tel.] n. Necessity, need. అవశ్యకత. అగత్యము adj. Urgent, important, needful. అవశ్యమైన, అగత్యములేని unnecessary. అగత్యమైనపని an urgent affair. ఆ మాటనుగురించి నీకేమి అగత్యము what is that to you? అగత్యముగా adv. Urgently, assuredly, positively, by all means. అవశ్యముగా అగత్యముగా రా you must certainly come.

(p. 23) agamyamu a-gamyamu [Skt.] adj. Inaccessible, impenetrable, impassable. పోవశక్యముకానిది. అగమ్య గమనము, (vulgarly అగమ్యాగమనము) incest, prostituion. వ్యభిచారము. అగమ్యగోచరమైన inexplicable. అగమ్యత agamyata. [Skt.] n. Inaccessibility: impossibility. పొందశక్యముకానిది A. 2. 29.

(p. 25) aguḍu aguḍu. [Tel. subjunctive of అగు.] అయ్యేటప్పటికి. 'అంతకంత కగ్గలబగుడు, గుడి కింజని.' A. v. 166. as it was excessive. Also (Optative.) may it be so.

(p. 25) aggalamu aggalamu [Tel.] adj. Excessive vehement, intolerable. మెండు. 'తూర్యనినదమగ్గలమయ్యెన్' Swa. vi. 105. అగ్గలముగ adv. Excessively, vehemently, cruelly. దుస్సహముగా. 'దాపక చెప్పుము చెప్పుకున్ననగ్గలముగ నివ్వధింతునని.' H. iii. 140. అగ్గలించు aggalinṭsu [Tel. from అగ్గలము] v. n. To increase, to grow. ఎక్కువగు. 'ముచ్చటలగ్గలింప.' Vish. vii. 375.

(p. 35) aḍi aḍi. [Tel.] adj. Great, excessive; vain, useless. డిబీరపు aḍi-bīrapu. [Tel.] adj. Excessively proud. 'వడముడి భుజవిక్రమంబు వారలమనమె, పుడువిన మొకర్ణుని వినమొయడిబీరపుతులువ గెలుచునటె పాండవులన్.' M. VII. iv. 171.

(p. 40) ati ati. [Skt. prefix.] Over, beyond, exceeding, very much; extreme, vast. అధికమైన. A rhyme says అతిదానాద్ధతఃకర్ణః , అతిలోభాత్సుయోధనః, అతికామాద్ధశగ్రీవః, అతి సర్వత్సవర్జయేత్. ఎందుకును అతి కారాదు excess is always hurtful.

(p. 40) atimātra ati-mātra. [Skt.] n. A 'pill too much,' i.e., excess in medicine. అధికమైన మందు. వాడు యిప్పుడు నిండా అతిమాత్రగానున్నాడు he has now gone wild. అతిమాత్రము atimātramu. [Skt.] adj. Exceeding; immoderate; excessive. మిక్కిలి మిక్కుటమైన.

(p. 40) atiriktamu ati-riktamu. [Skt.] adj. Super abounding, excessive. Other, different. అత్యంతమైన, సమధికమైన, హెచ్చు అయిన, ఇతరమైన, అతిరిక్తగృహము the other house.

(p. 41) atirēkamu ati-rēkamu. [Skt.] n. Excess ఆధిక్యము. మొహాతిరేకము strong lust.

(p. 41) ativṛṣṭi ati-vrishṭi. [Skt.] n. Excess of rain. అధికవాన.

(p. 41) ativēlamu ati-vēlamu. [Skt.] adj. Much, excessive. మిక్కుటమ్మెన.

(p. 41) atiśajhamu ati-ṣayamu. [Skt.] adj. Much, excessive (In Telugu) Marvellous, wonderful, uncommon. అత్యంతమైన, చోద్యమైన n. Excellence, pre-eminence, pride. అతిశయము. ఎక్కువ ఇదియేమి అతిశయము what great matter is this. అతిశయపడు v. To be proud of. గర్వించు అతిశయించు or అతిశయిల్లు v. To overmatch, surpass. To increase, become augmented. మించు, ఎక్కువ అగు. అతిశయోక్తి exaggeration, hyperbole.

(p. 41) atisañcayamu ati-sanchayamu. [Skt.] n. Excessive accumulation of wealth. అతిసంచయేచ్ఛ a desire to hoard money too much.
