(p. 263) kaṣāyamu kashāyamu. [Skt.] n. A decoction. An extract. An infusion prepared by boiling or evaporation. adj. Red brown or yellowish red. కషాయాంబరము cloth dyed red. పిచ్చికకషాయము sparrow broth. కోడికషాయము chicken broth. కషాయముకాచు to make an infusion or decoction.

(p. 275) kāru kāru. [Tel.] n. A season, time of the year. కాలము. చిన్నకారు childhood, youth. తొలికారు the opening of the year. కారు మెరుపు or తొలికరుమెరుపు or క్రొక్కారు మెరుంగు vernal lightning తొలివానకాలపు మెరుపు. నవకారు Spring. ఈ సంవత్సరములో ముక్కారులున్ను పండినవి the three seasons have yielded crops this year. ఒక కారు కోడిపిల్లలను అమ్మివేసినాను I have sold one brood of chickens. నాలుగు కారులగిత్త a heifer four years old. కారు కాలము, ఫలకాము harvest time. కారు పంట, a crop that depends on the rain. వర్షాకాలమందు నీరాసరానుపండే పల్లపుపంట, కారువడ్లు rice grown in the hot season, ఎండకాలమందు పండే వరి ధాన్యము. కారువాయిధర price current of grain at the time of reaping. A fowl, a bird. కోళ్లు poultry, fowls. సీమకోడి a foreign fowl. i.e., a turkey, or Guinea fowl. పిల్లలకోడి a brood hen. కక్కెరకోడి the red painted partridge, Pernix Picta. ఎర్రకోడి the red spur-fowl, Francolinus Spadiccus. చిమిటి కోడి the painted spur-fowl. To occur or happen, to break out. కలుగు. నాకు సంశయముతట్టినది a doubt occurred to me. అది నామనసుకు తట్టలేదు it did not occur to my mind. అది నాకు నిజమని తట్టలేదు it does not strike me as true. v. a. To strike, beat, knock, pat, clap, slap. చరచు. To touch. ముట్టు. To do away with. remove, or dispel (as darkness.) కత్తిదెబ్బ కేడెముతో తట్టినాడు he averted the blow. తట్టివేయు to remove. సరితట్టు to compare with the original, to fill up what was wanting. నీళ్లు ఎగదట్టినవి the water rose to the brink, ఆ ఓడ గట్టుతట్టినది the ship ran ashore. తట్టుపునుగు carefully selected musk. n. (p. 782) pūsa pūsa. [Tel.] n. A bead, మణి. A joint of a finger, వ్రేలులోనగువాని కీలు. A bit or piece. వెన్నుపూసలు the joints of the backbone. ముడ్డిపూస the rump, os coccyx. 'చిటివేలిపూసపై ఘటియిల్లు పెడకట్టి చిమ్ముల నురియడాల్ముమ్మరముగ.' A. vi. 104. వెన్నపూస a bit of butter, i.e., butter. 'పుట్టనియట్టి బిడ్డలకు పూసలు కట్టుదు రమ్మలక్కలు.'
