(p. 250) karatāḷamu kara-tāḷamu. [Skt.] n. The small leaved palm tree (as distinguished from శ్రీతాళము.) A musical instrument, a cymbal. Beating time by clapping the hands.

(p. 442) cappaṭa ṭsappaṭa [Tel.] n. A slap or clap. చరచుట. A fruit, &c., Pressed flat as a fig. చప్పటకొను or చప్పటలగు. (A. v. 21.) to become lean. సన్నగిల్లు. చప్పట్లు ṭsappaṭlu. n. pl. The clapping of the hands. Derision. చప్పట్లుకొట్టు or చప్పట్లుచరచు to clap the hands. చప్పటించు ṭsappaṭiṇṭsu. v. n. To slap, చరచు. To chuckle or cluck to a horse or ox to urge it on.

(p. 443) caracu or చరుచు ṭsaraṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To slap, to clap, to applaud. అరచేత కొట్టు. అరచేతతట్టు. To beat కొట్టు. మల్లచరచుట to clap the shoulders with the hands in defiance, as boxers do. చప్పట్లుచరచు, (A. iv. 34.) to clap the hands in derision. Parij. ii. 44. చరపు ṭsarapu. n. The act of giving a slap, or clapping. ఆస్ఫాలనము. A cover ఆచ్ఛాదనము.

(p. 580) dabbu dabbu. [Tel.] v. t. To tell. చెప్పు. n. A word, మాట. The cover of a jar, మూకుడు; దబ్బడము. The noise made by a blow on anything. A clapping sound, బల్లలుమొదలైన వాటిని గుద్దినచప్పుడు. దబ్బుపెట్టు to cover మూయు.
