(p. 1396) akṣantalu akshintalu. [from Skt. అక్షతలు.] n. A kind of thorny grass which sticks to one's clothes.

(p. 110) accādanamu āchchādanamu. [Skt.] n. Lid, cover: clothes, covering, cloak. అచ్ఛాదితము āchchāditamu. adj. Hidden, concealed.

(p. 37) aḍucu aḍuṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To close, to shut. మూసివేయు. అందులో నాలుగు వాకిళ్లు అడిచియున్నవి four of the gates are closed, ఆ గుడ్లను ఈ పెట్టెలో అడుచు (here అడుచు is for అణచు) cram the clothes into the box. Also, v. a. To beat, strike, thrash. To destroy కొట్టు, వళింపచేయు. 'ఎమ్ములిరియుగ శిలతో నడిచిన.' P. i. 729. అడుచుకొను aḍuṭsukonu. v. To contract, choke, be stopped. ఆ కాలవలో ఇసుక అడుచుకొన్నది the channel is choked with sand. వాని రొమ్మడుచుకొన్నది he has a contraction of the chest. గొంతు అడుచుకొన్నది, మాట్లాడకూడలేదు his throat is hoarse, he cannot speak.

(p. 142) istiri istiri. [H.] n. Ironing of clothes. బట్టలు మెరుగు గలిగి యుండుటకై చిన్న ఇనుప పెట్టెలో నిప్పులు వేసి రాచడము.

(p. 152) uḍupu uḍupu. [Tel.] n. A suit of clothes; a dress.

(p. 153) utuku utuku. [Tel.] v. a. To wash, as cloth, ఉదుకు. To thrash, ఉతకడానకువేయు to send clothes to be washed. ఉతికించు utikinṭsu. (Causal of ఉతుకు.) v. To get washed.

(p. 155) uttarēṇu or ఉత్తరేణి or ఉత్తరేను uttarēṇu. [Tel.] n. The plant termed achyranthes aspera or, the Prickly Chaff flower (E. P.) ఉత్తరేణిముల్లు a bur that sticks to the clothes.

(p. 174) ūḍu ūḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To part, drop out, slip out, జారు, రాలు. To give way, fail: to be unfastened, loosened, separated. వదులగు. To flee, run away. పారిపోవు. తండ్రి నోట్లో ఊడిపడ్డాడు he is the very image of his father. ఊడగొట్టు to take out, root up. remove. ఊడదీయు to pull out, to take off (skin or clothes), to unloose. ఊడబీకు to root out. ఊడలాగు to pull out, to draw out.

(p. 179) eṇḍugulu eṇḍugulu. [Tel.] n. Grain put out to dry in sunshine. ఎండబోసిన ధాన్యము. ఎండుగుతట్ట eṇḍugu-taṭṭa. n. A basket for clothes or grain: a drying basket. ఎండువులు same as ఎండుగులు.

(p. 231) kaṭṭu kaṭṭu. [Tel.] v. a. To tie, bind. బంధించు. To wear, as clothes. ధరించు. To connect, affix, attach. To store up, to lay by. కూడబెట్టు. 'క మున్ కట్టిన కర్మఫలంబులు నెట్టన భోగింపకుండ నేర్తురెపమనుజుల్.' భార. అది. v. To build, erect, నిర్మించు. To fascinate, charm, bewitch. To fabricate, compose, or put a story together. కల్పించు. కట్టుకథ a mere fiction or fable. To impute a sin or offence. దానికి రంకుకట్టిరి they charged her with adultery. తప్పుకట్టు to find fault with, to lay blame on నేరము మోపు. నడుముకట్టు to gird up the loins or be prepared. కనుకట్టువిద్య jugglery, legerdemain. తోటకు నీళ్లుకట్టు to water a garden. గాయముకట్టు to dress a wound. బండికట్టు to get ready a carriage. కత్తికట్టు to put on one's sword or arm oneself. రూకలుకట్టు to pay money. మగ్గములకు పన్ను కట్టినారు they fixed a tax on looms. నిలువకట్టు to strike a balance. ధరకట్టు to set a price. పద్యముకట్టు to compose a verse. ఓడకు చాపకట్టు to set sail. వాకట్టు strike dumb by spells, &c. ఈ మాటను కట్టివిడిచినారు they fabricated this story or scandal. దోవకట్టు to stop up the road. దోవకట్టి దోచినారు they lay in ambuscade and plundered the way farers. కడుపుకట్టు to restrain the appetite. కట్టని (neg. p) Unbuilt or unbound. కట్టని కల్లుకోట a rock fortress not built with hands. కట్టనిగూడు (P. i. 545.) a natural nest, not constructed.

(p. 232) kaṭṭukōka kaṭṭu-kōka. Tel. n. Ordinary clothes. నన్ను కట్టుకోమని తెచ్చినారు they brought me just as I was.

(p. 232) kaṭṭubaṭṭa kaṭṭu-baṭṭa. [Tel.] n. A garment. కట్టుబట్టతో విడిచినారు they left him with the skirt on his back. కట్టుబట్టతో పారివచ్చినాడు he escaped with nothing but the clothes on his back.

(p. 233) kaṭṭuvargamu kaṭṭu-vargamu. [Tel. from కట్టు.] A wardrobe or set of clothes.

(p. 245) kappuramu kappuramu. [from Skt. కర్పూరము.] n. Camphor. కప్పురగంది a woman who wears scented clothes.
