(p. 292) kuṭṭu kuṭṭu. [Tel.] v. n. To ache, be sore, to be in pain. వానికి కండ్లుకుట్టినవి he has got sore eyes. Metaphorically, he is envious. కుట్టు. v. a. To prick, bore, pierce: to sting. To sew or stitch. పండ్లు కుట్టుకొను to pick the teeth. మడిచికుట్టు to fold and sew, i.e., to hem. చెప్పుడు కుట్టు to make shoes. చెప్పులు కుట్టేవాడు a cobbler, మాదిగవాడు. కుట్టుతేళ్లు scorpions, villians, కంటకములు, క్షుద్రులు. కుట్టు. n. A stitch, a seam. Sewing, needle-work. A stitch in the side కొంచెము కడుపు నొప్పి. A prick, or puncture, piercing. Spite, grudge, pique. కడుపుకుట్టు belly-ache: spite, grudge. కుట్టుసురు the last breath, or gasp. కుట్టుకాడ or కుట్టుపోగు kuṭṭu-kāḍa. n. A wire placed in the ear in preparation for an earring. కుట్టు పోయు kuṭṭu-pōyu. v. n. To stitch or sew slightly.

(p. 360) galla galla. [Tel.] n. A shallow pot, in which a cobbler moistens leather. చట్టి.

(p. 382) gūṭamu or గూటాము gūṭamu. [Tel.] n. A tent-pin or stake, used both as a mallet and as a peg. The roller of a loom. కాసెగూటము an iron or wooden hammer shaped like a pestle and used by stonecutters and cobblers. A wooden or iron wedge. 'గూటంపుతిరుగుళ్లు.' H. v. 112.

(p. 387) goḍagari or గొడారి goḍagari. [Tel.] n. A shoemaker, a worker in leather. మాదిగవాడు. గొడగర the cobbler's caste. The name of a tribe. 'మూలలకుమాంసంబు మరిగొడారికిని దోలమనున్నట్లు' BD. iv. 51.

(p. 395) gōsaṅgi gōsangi. [Tel.] n. A cobbler, a worker in leather. మాదిగవాడు.

(p. 972) mādiga mādiga. [from Skt. మతంగ.] n. The cobbler or shoe-making caste. మాదిగవాడు a man of that class, చెప్పులుకుట్టువాడు. మాదిగది mādig-adi. n. A woman of the cobbler caste.

(p. 1061) rampe or రంపియ rampe. [Tel.] n. A cobbler's knife for cutting leather. చర్మకార సాధనము. తోలునుకోసేకత్తి. రంపెలాడి rampel-āḍi. (రంపెలు + ఆడి.) n. A slut, vixen, termagant. రాక్షసకృత్యముగలస్త్రీ, పోరుపెట్టేది. 'సీ చించివైచుటెకాని చీరలిచ్చినగటీరమునగై సేయదా రంపెలాడి.' P. iii. 190.
