A diagram or figure used in magic. గణప్రస్తారము the combination of syllables in forming prosodial feet, ఛందశ్శాస్త్రప్రత్యయభేదము.

(p. 1264) ślēṣa ṣlēsha. [Skt.] n. Union, combination. సంయోగము. A figure of rhetoric, consisting of the choice, or connection of words, so as to admit of a double interpretation; a species of paranomasia or pun, Double entendre, irony, sarcasm. శబ్దాలంకార విశేషము, ఏకవాక్యమునకు అనేకార్థము, ద్వ్యర్థము. శ్లేషగానుండేపద్యము a verse bearing a double meaning.

(p. 1278) sandhi sandhi. [Skt.] n. Connection, union combination, junction, coalescence. కూడిక, చేరడము, కలియడము. A joint of the limbs, కీలు. Pacification, peacemaking, conciliation, peace, a treaty. అనుకూలము, సమాధానము. The coalescence of letters in accordance with the laws of euphony. అచ్సంధి the union of vowels. హల్సంధి the union of consonants. ఈయన వారికి సంధి చేసినాడు he made them friends. 'బిట్టుల్కి సంధులు ప్రిదలిగిర్రనుచు.' BD. iv. 359. కుసంధి a bad union. సంధివిగ్రహము peace and war. సంధివిగ్రహాధికారము a war ministry, the duty of a war minister. సంధిబంధనము a ligament. సంధించు san-dhinṭsu. v. a. To cause to meet, to bring together, join, unite. కలుపు, చేర్చు, కూర్చు. సంధించు or సంధిల్లు. v. n. To be joined to or united with, కూడు. సంధితము sandhitamu. adj. Joined, united, connected, bound, చేర్చబడిన, కూర్చబడిన కట్టబడిన. సంధిత్స sandhitsa. n. The desire of joining, an inclination to unite. చేర్చవలెననేయిచ్ఛ. సంధిలు or సంధిల్లు sandhilu. v. n. To happen, occur; to meet. ప్రాప్తమగు, ఎదురుపడు, కలుగు, వచ్చు. 'భక్తిగౌరవము విశ్వాసంబు సంధిల్లగా.' T. ii. 55. 'అచలాత్మజమాటకు లేత నవ్వు సంధిల్ల.' Swa. pref. 2. సంధుడు or సంధురాలు sandhuḍu. n. One who is united with. These words are used in compounds; thus సత్యసంధుడు, సత్యసంధురాలు. a truthful or veracious man or woman.

(p. 1302) samāsamu samāsamu. [Skt.] n. Composition of words, formation of compound terms. A combination of several words into one, all but the final being devoid of the signs of case, a compound word, రెండుమూడు శబ్దముల నేకపదముగా చేర్చడము. విభక్తి లోపము చేసిన పదము, సమర్థములగు పదముల యేకీభావము. సమాసకము samāsakamu. n. A compound word formed out of pure Telugu words, శుద్ధాంధ్రపదములసమాసము. సమాసోక్తి a compound word.

(p. 1303) samuru samutu. [H.] n. A combination or league, a strike among workmen. కట్టుపాటు. 'ఒక యేకాదశి నాటరేయిసముతైయున్నట్లు రోవెట్టటువేడుకకుంరాకయు.' Vaij. ii. 87. సముతుకట్టు samutu-kaṭṭu. v. n. To strike work, కట్టుకట్టు. సముతుపడు to be caught, to yeild, పట్టుబడు, సముతుపరుచు to cause to yeild. 'తే మస్తకముదువ్విపలుమారు గుస్తరించి, సమరసముచూపి మెల్లనే సముతుపరిచి, వాగెబిగియించి తమ్మెమాల్వాగెసడలి, పన్నెపోకిన ముందర బరవదయ్యె.' చంద్రా. iii.
