(p. 527) tithi tithi. [Skt.] n. A Tithi, a lunar day. The date by computation of lunar days, by which all religious and funeral rites (Parentalia) are regulated. రేపు నా తండ్రి గారికి తిథి గనుక రాను as to-morrow is the anniversary of my father's death I cannot come.

(p. 972) mātramu mātramu. [Skt.] n. Quantity, measure, proportion, computation, whether by number, rate, weight, extent, or capacity. పరిమాణము. వాడు అట్లు చెప్పిన మాత్రమున or మాత్రాన as soon as he said so. ఆమాత్రపు దేవళము so large a temple. ఆ గ్రంథము ఉండే మాత్రపువాడు a man likely to have that book. బకమాత్రపుమనిషి a sort of fellow, not much of a man. ఏమాత్రము or ఎంతమాత్రము how much, how far, to what amount, in what degree. ఆమాత్రము so far. నాకు తెలిసిన మాత్రము as far as I know. ఎంతమాత్రముకాదు far from it, by no means, not in the least. అది యేమాత్రము న్యాయముకాదు it is anything but right. ఎంతమాత్రము హేతువులేదు there is not the smallest reason. మనుష్యమాత్రులకు అలవి కాదు it is impossible for mortals. adj. & adv. Only, merely, alone, simply, exclusively. నేను మాత్రము వచ్చినాను I alone came.

(p. 981) māsamu māsamu. [Skt.] n. A month, either of the lunar, solar, or any other computation of the year. నెల. The Telugu months are చైత్రము, వైశాఖము, జ్యేష్ఠము, ఆషాఢము, శ్రావణము, భాద్రపదము. ఆశ్వయుజము, కార్తీకము, మార్గశిరము, పుష్యము, మాఘము, ఫాల్గునము. అధికమాసము an intercalary month. క్షయమాసము a lost month. నిజమాసము the month proper. నక్షత్రచంద్రమాసము the time wherein the moon moves through a sidereal revolution. Also, same as మాషము a small weight.

(p. 1147) vākku or వాకు vākku. [Skt.] n. Speech, speaking. A word, పలుకు, మాట. 'పాలవంటి వారుపన్నుబెట్టెడువారు, వాకెరుగరుకాపవారు.' Vēma. 1314. మనోవాక్కాయకర్మంబుల by mind, word, limbs or acts. వాగ్దత్తము a promise. వాగ్దానము giving a promise. వాక్సహాయము interest, recommendation వాక్పటుత్వము power of speech, eloquence. వాకొను vā-konu. v. a. To tell, say, utter, speak. చెప్పు, మాటాడు. To cry out. అరచు. వాక్పతి or వాగీశుడు vāk-pati. n. Lord of speech. A name of Brahma or of Brihaspati, బ్రహ్మ, బృహస్పతి. An eloquent person. కవీశ్వరుడు. వాక్యము vākyamu. n. A sentence, కర్తృకర్మ క్రియా సంబంధముగల పదసమూహము. Speech, a word, utterance, dictate. మాట. (In astronomy,) the process for astronomical computations. వాక్రుచచ్చు vā-kruṭsṭsu. (వాకు+కూర్చు.) v. a. To say, utter. చెప్పు. To name, పేరుచెప్పు.
