(p. 18) akaṭavikaṭamu akaṭa-vikaṭamu. [Tel.] adj. Adverse, contrary, awkard, inverted, contrariwise. తారుమారైన, విరుద్ధమైన, ప్రతికూలమైన, అకటవికటమైన మాట an incoherent speech, a prevarication, అకటవికటపు మాటలాడుట to shuffle, prevaricate, అకటవికటమైన పని an awkward, confused or troublesome affair.

(p. 20) akkili akkili. [Tel. a variant form of అక్కలి n. Confusion. కలత. అక్కిలిపడు to be confused. 'అక్కిలిపడి రెప్పరెల్ల మోడ్చుచును.' Bhag. vii.

(p. 22) agaḍu or అగుడు agadu. [Tel.] n. Ill fame, bad name, clamour, disturbance. నింద, అపవాదము, రచ్చ, రట్టు, అల్లరి. దాన్ని అగుడుపెట్టకు you must not blab of this. అగుడుసేయనటంచు నానబెట్టినగాని.' N. 7. 154. అగడుపడు v. To be blamed; to be confused. నిందపడు, తొట్రుపడు. బెగడువలదనుచుబెట్టిద మగునెవ్వగ నగడుపడుచు నాడుపడుచులే పగవారికి వలదననా పగవారికి నేలయొసగె పద్మజుడనుచున్. Vasu. vi.

(p. 32) aṭṭi aṭṭi. adj. pron. Such, like that అటువంటి Such a man అట్టివాడు అట్టిట్టు n. (lit. that way and this way.) Confusion. అయినమట్టుకు వాడు ఈ ఊరిని అట్టిట్టుచేసి వెళ్లినాడు he ruined this place. అట్టిట్టుగా adv. In a confused state. వానికి ఇప్పుడు అట్టిట్టుగానున్నది he is in a very critical state. అట్టిద it is such or is it such? అటువంటిదే.

(p. 40) atalamu atalamu. [Skt.] n. One of the fabled subterraneous regions, supposed to be immediately below the earth. భూలోకము కింది లోకము. అతలకుతలము n. Disorder, confusion. disturbance. అల్లరి, గలిబిలి, తారుమారు. అతలకుతలమవు v. n. To be routed, scattered, dispersed. గలిబిలియగు, తారుమారగు, చెదిరిపోవు. అతలకుతలముచేయు to make a bustle or great noise, to cause a tumult or confusion. అతలకుతలముగా adv. In confusion. అల్లరిగా.

(p. 47) adhīrata a-dhīrata. [Skt.] Absence of self command, cowardice. అధీరము adj. Cowardly, confused. భయపడే, చంచలమైన.

(p. 51) anāyakamu a-nāyakamu. [Skt.] adj. n. Being without a leader. Used for అరాజకము. Anarchy, misrule, confusion. అనాయకుడు n. He who is forlorn or helpless. దిక్కుమాలిన వాడు, నాధుడు లేనివాడు.

(p. 63) apasmāramu or అపస్మారకము apa-smāramu. [Skt.] adj. Nasty, filthy, nauseous, dirty. అసహ్యమైన, రోతైన. అపస్మారము n. Forgetfulness. A confused feeling: violent passion, approaching to madness Nastiness; Epilepsy, కాకిసోమాల, తెరుపు మరుపు మాటలు, (లోకవాడుకలో) రోత, అసహ్యము. అపస్మారకుడు n. A nasty or dirty fellow. రోతమనిషి. అపస్మారి n. An epileptic (vulgarly) he who is nasty or filthy. కాకిసోమాల గలవాడు, రోతమనిషి.

(p. 67) abandara a-bandara. [Tel.] n. Disorder, confusion, irregularity. తారుమారు, రసాభాసము. అబందరగానుండే adj. Disorderly, confused, irregular. కలవరముగానుండే.

(p. 1397) arimuri ari-muri. [Tel.] n. Confusion. కలత. అరమురిపడు to be confused or con-founded, కలతపడు.

(p. 90) allari allari. [Tel.] n. Tumult, commotion, noise, confusion, quarrel, riot. గత్తర, రచ్చ, అల్లరిమనిషి a noisy or troublesome man. అల్లరిచేయు v. a. To trouble, disturb, discompose. గత్రచేయు, తారుమారు చేయు.

(p. 113) ādarabādaragā ādara-bādara-gā. [Tel.] adj. Precipitately, confusedly. అతిత్వరగా, తొందరగా, అవసరముగా.

(p. 122) āru āru. [Tel.] v. n. To teem with, be full of నిండు; to be or have. సొంపారిన beautiful. ఇంపారిన delightful. నిండారుగానున్నది it is full. అలరారు blooming. చెన్నారిన lovely. పొల్పారిన charming (compare the affix ఆరి as నేర్పరి, సొంపరి, &c.) గోజారు to trouble. సొంపారు to bloom, to be pretty. In such phrases as నూరారు వెయ్యారు the word అరు is not the numeral six, but is a form of అరు to be full; so వెయ్యారు means full thousand and నూరారు full a hundred. నూరారుముద్దులు a full hundred kisses. చేతులారంగ శివుని పూజింపడేని if he sacrifice not to Siva with his own hands. చేతులార రూకలు చెల్లిస్తిని I paid the money with my own hands. పని ఆరుమూడు అయినది the work is all in confusion, at sixes and sevens.

(p. 126) āvaṭamu āvaṭamu. [Tel.] n. Manner, good style, mode. నూతి కట్టకడవ ఆవటమున in peril, like a pitcher on the brink of a well. ఆవటముగశయ్యదీర్చి (G. v. 60.) Arranging his bed properly. 'నేతి బీరావటములాయెనేమి?' Velag. iii. 95. ఆవటించు āvaṭinṭsu. To take, live upon. వాడు గాలి ఆవటించి బ్రతికెను. P. iv. 53. He lived upon mere air: he starved. To help (one to food or to drink.)
