(p. 268) kāṭuka kāṭuka [Tel.] n. Lampblack. Mildew in grain. Eyesalve, or sulphuret of antimony. Collyrium, a paste made of lampback and oil and applied to the eyes to increase their brilliancy. It is also supposed to assist in conjuring and giving second sight. అంజనము. కాటుక is listre or dark brown. లక్ష్మీకాటుకలు a species of grain. మందుకాటుక love powders or eyesalve. భూతకాటుక magic powder. కాటుకవలె నూరినాడు he beat it to the consistency of paste. adj. Dark. deep in colour, dark brown, but distinct from black నల్ల. కాటుకపచ్చ dark green విడిపచ్చ light green. కాటుకకన్నులు bright black eyes. కాటుకపట్టు kaṭuka-paṭṭu v. n. To become black నలుపు పారు. కాటుకపిట్ట kāṭuka-piṭṭa. n. A wagtail see జిట్టంగి and దాసరిపిట్ట. కాటుకరాయి kāṭuka-rāyi. n. Sulphuret of antimony సౌవీరాంజనము. కాటుక రేకులపొడ or వులివెంజర kāṭuka-rēkula-poḍ a. n. A certain venomous snake.

A creeping species of bent grass, called Agrostis stolonifera. తీగబచ్చలి a creeper, Convolvuḷus repens. See బచ్చలి. తీగయిల్లు an arbour పొదరిల్లు. తీగయెలుగు a low voice హీనస్వరము. తీగబోడి tīga-bōdi. n. A slight and graceful girl. తీగమల్లె the creeping Jasmine. తీగమెరుగు tīga-merugu. n. Lightning without thunder ఉరుములేని మెరుపు. A sort of grain. తీగమోడి tīga-mōḍi. n. Patterns of flourishes or carved work in carpentry. వ్రాతపని. ముత్తెములు తీగెమోడికుట్టే పనులు embroidery in the fashion of sprigs of pearl. తీగసాగు tīga-sāgu. v. n. To increase, to prosper వర్ధిల్లు. గార బాగా తీగెలు సాగేలాగున కలిపిరి they mixed the mortar till it was of a proper consistency. తీగలుపారు to spread వ్యాపించు. తీగవిలుకాడు an epithet of Manmadha. తీగసరులు a kind of rice ధ్యాన్యవిశేషము.

(p. 815) posagu posagu. [Tel.] v. n. To agree, fit, suit, be consistent with. To happen, take place, occur, befal. ఒనగూడు, ఒప్పు, పొందుపడు, చక్కబడు, ఇముడు, సరిపడు, అనుకూలించు. To be got, obtained. సంభవించు, దొరకు, లభించు. వీరికి వారికి పొసగదు they do not agree, they are on bad terms. వానికేమి పొసగినది what happened to him? ఈ కర్మము నీకెట్లు పొసగినది how did you get into this trouble? 'భోజనవేళల పొసగునే మాట,' Pal. 44. 'పరసమినుము సోకిబంగారమైనట్లు, కప్పురంబుజ్యోతిగలసినట్లు, పుష్పమందుతావి పొస గినట్లగుముక్తి.' Vēma. i. 81. పొసగ posaga. adv. Duty, fitly. 'చంపదగిన యట్టి శత్రుడుతనచేత, జిక్కెనేనికీడుసేయ రాదు, పొసగమేలుచేసి పొమ్మనుటేచావు.' Vēma. i. 23. పొసగించు posaginṭsu. v. a. To cause to agree or fit. To bring to terms, to persuade. పొసగుడు posagudu. n. Convenience, aid, help, అనుకూల్యము. Happening, ప్రాప్తమగుట.

(p. 1186) viruddhamu vi-ruddhamu. [Skt.] adj. Opposed, opposite, reverse, contrary, inconsistent, contradictory, disagreeing with another, hostile, inimical, unfriendly, విరోధముగల. ప్రతికూలమైన, అసంగతమైన, విపరీతమైన, n. Opposition, contrariety, incongruity, enmity. ప్రతికూలత, ఆసంగతము, శత్రుత్వము, విరోధము.

Joined, united, come together, coherent, consistent, proper, just, adequate, reasonable, suitable, appropriate, applicable. యుక్తమైన, యోగ్యమైన, సంలగ్నమైన, సంయుక్తమైన. 'కమనీయ వజ్రసంగతక వాటములు.' Fitness, decorum, propriety. కార్యము, వ్యవహారము. పని, విషయము, సహవాసము, సాంగత్యము, యుక్తము, యోగ్యము, సంపర్కము. అతడు చెప్పిన సంగతి ఏమంటే he stated as follows. ఈ సంగతి నాకు తెలిసి on knowing this. ఆ సంగతి నేను వినలేదు I did not hear of it. అతడు బ్రతికియుండే సంగతి చనిపోయిన సంగతి తెలియలేదు I do not know whether he is alive or dead. సంగతిని or సంగతిగా san-gati-ni. adv. Properly, fitly. యుక్తముగా, తగినట్టుగా. 'పట్టు వస్త్రములు భూషణముల్ గల చందనంబులున్, సంగతిగట్టియుందొడిగి సయ్యనజూచె.' ప్రసన్న రాఘవశతకము. సంగతించు san-gatinṭsu. v. n. To happen, occur. సంభవించు. ప్రసక్తించు. సంగతుడు san-gatuḍu. n. (In composition,) one who is accompanied by, or beset by. కూడుకొన్నవాడు. 'అపరాహ్ణసంగతుండగుత పనుంగని ప్రొద్దుగ్రుంక దడవేగుదురీరిపులన.'
