(p. 367) giḍugu giḍugu. [Tel.] n. An umbrella with no handle. కామలేనిగొడుగు. Also, a contemptuous use of the word. గొడుగు.

(p. 369) gī gī. [Tel.] In speaking contemptuously or slightingly, a word is repeated with the initial long syllable changed into గీ as రాముడు, గీముడు. See on గి.

(p. 371) guṇṭa gunṭa. [Tel.] n. A little boy or girl (contemptuously used.) a brat; చిన్న గుంట or చిన్నబొంద. A slip of a girl.

(p. 726) paluca paluṭsa. [Tel.] adj. Thin. సన్నని. Light, తేలికయైన, చులకని. పలుచన, పలుచదనము or పల్చదనము paluṭsana. n. Thinness, leanness. Slight contempt. అడవి పలుచన thinness of the forest. ఇట్లు చేస్తే పదుగురిలో పలుచధనకాదా if you behave so you will be mean in men's eyes. పలుచని paluṭsani. adj. Thin, spare, lean, paltry. Not thickset. Disreputable, contemptible. పలుచనిపలుకులు or పలుచనిమాటలు contemptuous words or slighting expressions. మజ్జిగ నిండా పలుచగా నున్నది the buttermilk is very thin. పలుచనిబట్ట a thin cloth. పలుచపడు paluṭsa-paḍu. v. n. To become thin, to melt as butter. పలుచనగు.

(p. 751) piṇḍamu pinḍamu. [Skt.] n. A lump of rice, అన్నపుముద్ద, A ball. చెండు. A body, form, living frame. ఆకారము, శరీరము. The fœtus or embryo, గర్భస్థశిశువు. The oblations that are made to deceased ancestors. పితృదేవతలకిచ్చు అన్నపుముద్ద. ఈ గండము గడిచి పిండము బయటపడితే చూతము when the fray is over we shall see what happens. నాడు ఉత్పాతపిండము he is a perfect hero. నాకు పిండానికి లేక చస్తున్నాను I am dying for a bit of bread. పిండముపెట్టు to offer balls of rice to the manes of ancestors. Vēma. iii. 192. పిండలి or పిండలివండ pinḍali. (from పిండము.) n. A lump or mass. ముద్ద, గడ్డ. పిండలి పండు or పిండిలిపండు mud and slush. గడ్డలను నీళ్లును, గడ్డలుకట్టినబురద. 'తురగభురోగ్ధూత ధూళితో బెరసిన, వననిధిపిండలి పండుగాగ.' M. IV. iii. 150. పిండాకూడు or పిండాకుడు pinḍā-kūḍu. n. A contemptuous word for food.

(p. 899) beruku beruku. [Tel.] n. Difference. భేదము. Use. ప్రయోజనము. Indifference, contempt. అలక్ష్యము. 'నీకుమారుని బెంచినట్లాకుమారు నరసి రక్షింపుమీమది బెరుకులేక.' Vish. vii. 99. adj. Indifferent, contemptuous, అలక్ష్యము గల. 'బెరుకువానిమదిని బింకెమీలాగురా.' Vēma. 174.

(p. 913) bōle bōle. [Tel.] n. A pot, pipkin; a contemptuous word for a vessel. ఓటికుండ, కుండబొచ్చె. నాకు తాగుటకు ఒక బోలెయైనాలేదు I have not got even a pot to drink out of. బోలెడు అన్నము a bowl of rice.

(p. 920) bhāgyamu bhāgyamu. [Skt.] n. Luck, fortune, riches, wealth. అదృష్టము, ధనము. అదియేమి భాగ్యము what great matter is it? భాగ్యము గలవాడు a man of fortune. భాగ్యరేఖ a line on the palm of the hand, &c. that portends good luck. భాగ్యవంతుడు a fortunate man, a rich man. భాగ్యవతి or భాగ్యశాలి a fortunate woman; a woman (sometimes used contemptuously.)

(p. 1361) sōla sōla. [Tel.] n. A certain dry measure, equal to a seer. పదునారు డబ్బులయెత్తు వస్తువుపట్టేకొలది, శాస్త్రకారుడుచెప్పినది తొమ్మన్నూరుగింజలు పట్టేది. సోలవెలితిగా sōla-veliti-gā. adv. Scornfully, contemptuously. కొంచెము తక్కువగా. 'ఏలయీబహురూపులేవైన మున్ను సోలవెలితిగనిన్ను జూచితినయ్య.' BD. iv. 1028. 'ఈ చందమిట్లుతాల్పక యాచందంబున నెయున్న యప్పుడునిన్నున్ జూచితినెపోలవెలితిగ నీ చుక్కల దగిలికొనగనేటికి నాకున్.' BP. vi. 238. సోలెడు sōl-eḍu. adj. A small pailful. అరతవ్వెడు.
