(p. 737) pātramu pātramu. [Skt.] adj. Worthy, fit, adequate. యోగ్యము. పాత్రత pātrata. n. Fitness, worthiness. పాత్రుడు pātruḍu. n. One who is worthy, deserving or fit. అర్హుడు. యోగ్యుడు. ఆయనదయకు పాత్రుడనైతిని I was found worthy of enjoying his favour. వారు దండనకు పాత్రులైరి they were guilty, they were deserving of punishment. A king's counsellor or minister. మంత్రి. 'కోటలో గజపతివారు తమతట్టునుండిన పాత్రసామంతులను కొందరు మన్నెపువారినిని ఠాణా ఉంచినారు.' పాత్రసామంతులు means principal servants. A title assumed by the members of a particular caste of Sudras in Ganjam and Orissa, as భోగన్నహేత్రుడు, వీరన్న పాత్రు డు, &c.

(p. 936) mantramu mantramu. [Skt.] n. A sacred text or hymn. A verse sacred to some deity, used as a prayer. A spell, a charm, incantation. జాలవిద్య. Secret consultation, secret counsel. రహస్యము, గూఢోక్తి. రహస్యపుమాట. Help in a woman's confinement, ప్రసవోపాయము. మంత్రపుష్పము consecrated flowers. మంత్రక్షతలు blessed rice, i.e., rice over which incantations have been pronounced. నీదివ్యనామ మంత్రిముచేత by the force of thy blessed name. మంత్రణ or మంత్రణము mantrana. n. A secret consuḷtation, రహస్యాలోచన. మంత్రకాడు or మంత్రనాది mantra-kāḍu. n. A magician, conjurer. మాంత్రికుడు. ఇంద్రజాలవిద్యనెరిగినవాడు. మంత్రసాని or మంతరసాని mantra-sāni. n. A midwife, మంత్రసానితనము mantra-sāni-tanamu. n. Midwifery. మంత్రసానికి ఒళ్లుదాచగలవా can you conceal the truth from your midwife? మంత్రాంగము mantr-āngamu. n. Machination, trickery. తంత్రము. మంత్రి mantri. n. A minister, a counsellor, or adviser, బుద్ధిసహాయుడు. The queen at chess. మంత్రించు or మంతిరించు mantrin-ṭsu. v. n. To charm, or perform magic spells over. మంత్రముచేయు.

(p. 975) māma māma. [from Skt. మామక.] n. A father-in-law. Also, a mother's brother, మేనమామ. The same title is bestowed equally on the brothers of a father-in-law, as పినమామగారు, పెద్దమామగారు. The phrase శకునిమామ denotes 'Uncle Sakuni,' i.e., an evil counsellor. Sakuni was the maternal uncle of Duryōdhana. మామమామ an epithet of Vishnu, as he married Lakshmi the daughter of the Sea (సముద్రుడు) whose wife (Ganges) is related to him as a daughter, లక్ష్మీదేవిని పెండ్లాడినందున తనకు మామయైన సముద్రునికి పెండ్లామగు గంగాదేవి తనకు కూతురువరుస అగుటచేత విష్ణువు సముద్రునికి మామ అయ్యెను.

(p. 1236) vyāvahārikuḍu vy-āvahārikuḍu. [Skt. from వ్యవహారము.] n. A man of business, one in business. ఉద్యోగస్థుడు, వ్యవహారము తెలిసినవాడు. A counsellor, మంత్రి.

(p. 1288) sacivuḍu sachivuḍu. [Skt.] n. A minister or counsellor. మంత్రి. A friend, companion or associate, చెలికాడు. A helper. సహాయుడు. Vasu. ii. 28. కేళిసచివుడు a playmate, or playfellow.

(p. 1324) sāmavāyikuḍu sāmavāyikuḍu. [Skt.] n. A principal minister or counsellor. The chief of a company or corporation. మంత్రి, ముఖ్యుడు.
