(p. 169) urlagaḍḍa urla-gaḍḍa. [Tel.] n. A potato. Lit. the crumbling root: so called because it is farinaceous.

To wither, be weakened or debilitated. ఆ పాఠము అతనికి నలిగినది the lesson has become familiar to him. దోవ యింకా నలగలేదు the road is not yet trodden smooth. వారు జగడమాడగా నేను నలిగిపోతిని they were the disputants but I was the sufferer, I was crushed between them. వారు నలిగిపోయినాడు they are in reduced circumstances. ఒళ్లు నలిగియున్నది the limbs are quite tired. నలుగు nalugu. n. Rubbing, scrubbing the limbs with fragrant paste made usually of పెసలు. నలుగుపెట్టు to rub the limbs with paste. నలుగు or నలుగుపిండి n. A sort of fragrant paste used as soap. నలుగుడు or నలగుడు naluguḍu. n. Difficulty, trouble, pain, suffering. పిడనము, సంకటము, తొందర, ఇబ్బంది 'అతండు నలుగుడుబడరాదో మగువ.' Suca. iii. 333. That which is thrashed or bruised. నలిగినది. నలుగుడుపెట్టు to oppress, to harass. నలగగొట్టు nalaga-goṭṭu. v. a. To pound, to bruise. వాణ్ని నలగకొట్టినారు they thrashed him severely. నలత or నల్త nalata. n. Debility: a weak state: the remains or constitutional effects of a disease. పురాణించిన రోగము. Convalescence, a bad state of health, lingering indisposition, a low fever. నలతగొట్టు nalata-goṭṭu. n. A make-bate, a thorn in one's side. నలుకువ or నలకువ nalukuva. n. Ailing, an ill state of health. వ్యాధి. Suffering, శ్రమము, బాధ. Weariness, ఆయాసము. నలుచు, నలచు or నలుపు naluṭsu. v. a. To crush. To rub the skin. నలియజేయు, తోము.

(p. 1001) muḍugu muḍugu. [Tel.] v. n. To be drawn in, as one's limbs, to shrink, shrivel, or close, ముకుళించు. To be diminished, తగ్గు, సంకోచించు. To be unable to act, చేష్టలుడుగు. ముడుగుతామర muḍugutāmara. n. The plant called Hibiscus mutabilis, పొత్తితామర, నమస్కారి. See ముచ్చముడుగు. ముడుచు muḍuṭsu. v. a. To cause to fold, ముడుగుజేయు. To tie into a knot, ముడివేయు, ముడిపెట్టు. To set flowers in the tresses. To bend the limbs. 'చక్ర స్త్రీలు మోముల్ ముడుంప.' (S. iii. 399.) the doves looked downcast. దానికి పూలుముడిచినదెవరు who set the flowers in her hair? ముడుచుకొను muḍuṭsu-konu. v. a. To contract as limbs. To wear flowers in one's hair. అది పూలుముడుచుకొన్నది she wore flowers in her hair. మూతిముడుచుకొని ఉన్నది her features are contracted, pensive or downcast. ముడత or ముడుత muḍata. n. A wrinkle, crumpling, knot in spinning or twisting. వళి, మడత. ముడత తెవులు a transient blight in corn that goes off again. ముడుపు or ముడ్పు muḍupu. n. A rouleau, bag or purse. మల్లె, భూషణాదులమూట, ధనపుమూట, ధనము. పూలముడుపు a ceremony of setting flowers in the head dress of a pregnant woman. వెంకటేస్వరులముడుపు money or jewels promised by a vow to the god Venkaṭesa. ముడుపు కట్టుకొను to vow money or jewels to a god. దివాణెపుముడుపు money payable into the Government treasury. 'అద్దములోనదోచు ముడుపు.' (Ahal. iii. 48.) a purse reflected in the mirror. ముడుపరి muḍup-ari. n. One who vows to offer some money to a god. ముడుపుపుట్టినవాడు.

(p. 1018) mūlamu mūlamu. [Skt.] n. A root, వేరు. Origin, commencement, beginning. మొదలు. Capital, principal, సంచిమొదలు. A text, as opposed to its commentary. ఈ కలహమునకు మూలమెవరు who was the beginning of this quarrel? అది సమూల నాశనమైనది it is ruined, root and branch. ఋషిమూలము నదిమూలము విచారింపరాదు you must not inquire into the origin of a Rishi of a river. ఆ సంగతిని ఆమూలాగ్రముగా విచారించినాను I examined it throughly.
