To lean, bend, bow down, slant, be inclined, recline or lie down, to be weighed down, as scales. వంగు, వాలు. ఒరగి crouching, hiding. పడవ ఒరిగెను the boat leant on one side. ఒరిగి పడినాడు he tumbled down. మిన్నొరిగినట్లు crashingly, suddenly, as though the skies were falling, ఆ లెక్కను నామీద నొరగదోసినాడు he got that debt charged against me. ఒరగు n. Crookedness వంపు. ఒరగు, ఒరగుదిండు, ఒరగుడుదిండు, or ఒరగుబిళ్ల a cushion or large pillow to lean against. adj. Crooked వంపైన. ఒరగుపోవు or ఒరగబడు Same as ఒరగు. q.v.

The nave or centre of a wheel: A cylinder. గుండ్రని తలగడవలె నుండుమ్రాను. Any thing cylindrical. అరిటిదిండు or అరిటిబొందె the stump of a plantain tree. adj. Much, fiercely: as దిండురుకు to rush furiously. దిండీదు dind-īdu. n. One who wears a belt. కాసెకట్టినవాడు. దిండుపడు dinḍu-paḍu. v. n. To faint, be exhausted.

(p. 675) neṭṭuḍukāya or నెట్టుబొట్టనగోలలు neṭṭuḍu-kāya. n. A certain game played by boys. H. iii. 190. 'చీకటి మోదిళ్లు చిమ్ము బిల్లల నెట్టుబొట్టనగోలలు, బొమ్మరాలు.' Vishṇu. v. 211. నెట్టె neṭṭe. n. A match, an equal, ఉద్ది. నెట్టెము or నెట్టియము neṭṭemu. n. A cushion or pad on the head, for carrying baskets on, like a porter's knot. చుట్టకుదురు. To form sides, to make matches. ఉద్దులు ఏర్పరచు. 'ద్వి. అయెడ రఘురాము డాప్తులు దాను, నిండారుప్రేమతో నెట్టెలు కట్టి, చెండును దండంబు చెలువొప్పబట్టి.' DRB. 154.

(p. 887) biḷla or బిల్ల billa. [Tel.] n. Any small, round and flat thing, a disc or tablet, పలుచగానుండి గుండ్రగానుండే వస్తువు. బంట్రోతుబిళ్ల a peon's badge. అత్తరుబిళ్ల a cake of rose paste. వెండిబిళ్ల a plate of silver. ఒరుగుబిళ్ల a round cushion. రాగిడిబిళ్ల a gold tire. ఆతపెలకు బిళ్లవేసినాడు he put a patch on the metal vessel. మొలబిళ్ల a bit or piece of metal tied on a string around the loins of a female infant. బిళ్లపెంకు or ఓడుబిళ్ల a tile. ఓడుబిళ్లపరువు a tiled roof. బిళ్లబొట్టు a round mark on the forehead. బిళ్లకట్టు biḷḷa-kaṭṭu. v. n. To have a blood boil formed on any part of the body నెత్తురుగడ్డకట్టు. వాని గజ్జలలో బిళ్లకట్టినది he has buboes. బిళ్లగోళ్లు or గోడుబిళ్లలు a name of game played by children. బిళ్లచెప్పులు thin, flat shoes. బిళ్లవాలు the flat round discus of Vishnu, చక్రాయుధము. బిల్లిక another form of బిళ్ల బిళ్లగన్నేరు biḷḷa-gannēru. n. The jalap plant which has lilac flowers. బిళ్లపురుగు billa-purugu. n. The red winged stinging beetle, one of the Cantharides.

(p. 933) mañjiṣṭha manjishṭa. [Skt.] n. Madder, a plant used in medicine and in dyeing, Rubia cordifolia. A very brilliant red colour. మంజీష్ఠచీర a red petticoat. మంజిష్ఠపటరమ్య పీఠావణి a crimson cushion. మంజిటి (from మంజిష్ఠ.) Same as మంజిష్ఠ.

(p. 980) mālu mālu. [Tel.] n. The pad or cushion placed on the shoulder of a palanquin bearer. బోయీల బుజాలమీదిబట్టపొత్తులు. Also, property, wealth; the rent or revenue obtained from land. మాలీ pertaining to the revenue. మాలుకరణము a revenue clerk. మాలుసిబ్బంది the establishment of revenue peons. మాలుగుజారీ paying land tax.

(p. 980) mālugu or మాల్గు mālugu. [Tel. from మాలు.] v. n. To become or grow idle, సోమరితనమునుపొందు. n. Idleness, సోమరితనము. Also same as మాలు a pad or cushion placed on the shoulder of a palanquin bearer. మాలుగుపోతు mālugu-pōtu. n. A sluggard, a lazy wretch. యీడవరిగోయుచు, కూరుకుజెందజొచ్చెననీ, మాలుగుపోతువీని కనుమానములేదిక.' Chenn. iii. 447.

(p. 1022) metta metta. [Tel.] adj. Soft, mild, gentle, మెత్తని, మృదువైన.n. Bedding, a mattress, cushion, pad. పరుపు, సాగరముమోసే యెద్దు గంతమీదిపరుపు. A saddle or numdah, గుర్రపుపల్లము. మెత్తగా metta-gā. adv. Softly, slowly. మృదువుగా. మెత్తగా పిండికొట్టు to pound or beat fine. మెత్తగిల్లు metta-gillu. v. n. To become soft, మెత్తనగు. మెత్తడి mettaḍi. n. A sprat, a small inferior fish. ఒకచేప. మెత్తన mettana. n. Softness, మృదుత్వము. Mildness, slowness. శాంతి. 'చిత్తంబులోగల శిక్షచేయించు, కత్తికిమెత్తనగలదెయెందైన.' Sar. D. 584. చెయ్యిమెత్తనచేయు to grease one's palm or to bribe. adj. Soft, gentle, మృదువైన. adv. Softly, straight, తిన్నగా మెత్తని mettani. adj. Soft, mild, slow, yielding, meek, మృదువైన. మెత్తనివాడు a soft, patient man. మెత్తపడు or మెత్తబారు metta-pa-ḍu. v. n. To soften. మృదువగు.
