(p. 83) arghamu arghamu. [Skt.] n. Price. Adoration, worship, respect. మూల్యము, వెల, పూజ. అర్ఘబలాబలము the cheapness or dearness of commodities. అర్ఘ్యము arghyamu. n. A respectful oblation to gods or to venerable men, of rice, darbha-grass, flowers, &c., with water, or of water only. పూజార్థార్హజలాదికము. అర్ఘ్యపాత్ర a vessel for this. అర్ఘ్యపాద్యాదులు the same with the addition of water for the feet, &c అష్టార్ఘ్యములు the 8 kinds of offerings, viz., పెరుగు, తేనె, నెయ్యి, అక్షతలు, గరిక, నువ్వులు, దర్భ, పువ్వులు. అర్ఘ్యము adj. Venerable, deserving worship. పూజకు తగిన, యోగ్యమైన.

(p. 101) asandarbhamu a-sandarbhamu. [Skt.] n. Incongruity, inconvenience, unseasonableness. అసంగతము, అసమయము. అతడు లేనందున అట్లు చేయడానకు అసందర్భమైనది his absence prevented my doing so. అసందర్భము adj. Unconnected, inconvenient, unseasonable. అసమయమైన.

(p. 353) gaḍḍi gaḍḍi. [Tel.] n. Grass. కసవు. వరిగడ్డి rice straw. గడ్డిమొలతాడు a small cord made of the darbha or sacred grass worn around the waist by a young Brahmin in the ceremony of investing him with the sacred thread. కామంచిగడ్డి or కామాక్షికసవు the Citronella, or Andropogon Nardus. (Watts.) గడ్డితలకాయ gaḍḍi-tala-kāya. n. A hair-brained fellow, a soft-headed fool. గడ్డి తినిపించు gaḍḍi-tini-pinṭsu. v. n. To dupe. (lit. to make one eat grass) వానిని గడ్డితినిపించినారు they befooled him. గడ్డితిను gaḍḍi-tinu. v. n. To eat grass, to be cheated. ఈలాగున గడ్డితిన్నాడు thus was he befooled. గడ్డిపరక gaḍḍi-paraka. n. A blade of straw or grass గడ్డిపాము gaḍḍi-pāmu. n. A species of snake. గడ్డిపిట్ట gaḍḍi-piṭṭa. n. A kind of bird: there are three sorts, named ఎర్రగడ్డిపిట్ట, బిత్తరిగడ్డిపిట్ట and భూతగడ్డిపిట్ట. గడ్డిబొద్దున gaḍḍi-bodduva. n. A ring of grass rope to set a pot on. చుట్ట కుదురు.

(p. 582) darbāru darbāru. [H.] n. An audience chamber: audience.

(p. 583) darbha darbha. [Skt.] n. The sacred grass, used in sacrifice. Poa cynosuroides. దర్భపోటు See శ్రాద్ధము. A. vi. 92. దర్భముద్రిక or దర్భ ఉంగరము a ring made of this grass.

(p. 1405) darbhapōṭu darbha-pōṭu. [Tel.] n. A cant phrase for Srāddha or funeral.

(p. 1173) vidarbhamu vi-darbhamu. [Skt.] n. A dry, or desert soil, మరుస్థలము. విదర్భదేశము the country called Vidarbha, a district to the south-west of Bengal, the modern Behar proper. దేశభేదము. విదర్భ a city of that name.

(p. 1228) vēdarbi vaidarbhi. [Skt. from విదర్భ.] n. The lady born at Vidarbha, a name of Damayanti wife of Nala or Rukmini the wife of Krishna. నలుని భార్య; రుక్మిణి. Also, a certain style of composition, రీతి విశేషము.

(p. 1276) sandarbhamu sandarbhamu. [Skt.] n. Stringing beads, weaving garlands, etc. Meeting, connection, coherence. Covenience, opportunity, occurence, context, కూర్చడము, గుచ్చడము, కట్టడము, సంధించడము, క్రమము, ఆనుపూర్వి, అనుకూలము, సమయము, సంభవించడము. 'ప్రయాణసందర్భములు డెందంబుల సందడింప.' Vish. vii. 148. దీనికి దానికి సందర్భము లేదు, లేక ఒకటికొకటి సందర్భము లేకుండా ఉన్నది they disagree, they do not agree. అది ఈ సందర్భములో జరగదు it cannot be done at this juncture. పూర్వోత్తర సందర్భము ఎరుగక మాట్లాడుచున్నాడు he talks without knowing the circumstances. ఇప్పుడు సందర్భము కాదు it is not convenient now. సందర్భించు sandarbhinṭsu. v. n. To agree, tally, to be convenient, to be opportune, to occur, happen, అనుకూలించు, ఇముడు, సంభవించు, ప్రాప్తమగు.
