(p. 21) akṣaya akshaya. [Skt.] adj. Durable, permanent imperishable. నాశనరహితమైన. అక్షయలోకము, the undecaying world, heaven. అక్షయపాత్రము akshaya-pātramu. [Skt.] n. (lit. the inexhaustible vessel.) A cup for receiving alms, a beggar's dish. బిచ్చమెత్తుకొనే పాత్ర Alms given to a brahmin beggar.

(p. 159) uddhāraṇamu or ఉద్ధారణ or ఉద్ధారము ud-dhāraṇamu. [Skt.] n. Lifting up. Protection. Sustaining. Rescuing, delivering, releasing, restoring. మతోద్ధారణచేయు to re-establish a religion. ఉద్ధారాంశము a share granted to the man who re-established something that has fallen into decay. పోయినదానిని మళ్లీ సాధించినవానికిచ్చే విశేష భాగము. ఉద్ధారము చేయు to sustain: support. ఉద్ధారకుడు ud-dhārakuḍu. n. He who sustains or nourishes, a saviour, a redeemer రక్షకుడు.

(p. 165) uppu uppu. [Tel.] n. Salt. పెట్లుప్పు saltpetre. రాతి ఉప్పు rook salt. వెదురు ఉప్పు a sort of gum (tabasheer. Ainslie 1. 420.) found in the hollows of the bamboo. కప్పురంబు పెట్టి ఉప్పు కొనుట. (A. vi. 75.) To give camphor for salt, that is, what is valuable for what is worthless. ఉప్పుకండ uppu-kaṇḍa. n. A salt pen, salt-bed. ఉప్పు మిడత uppu-miḍata. n. A kind of large black cricket. ఉప్పు రేవు uppu-rēvu. n. A place where salt is manufactured: ఉప్పురియు upp-uriyu. v. i. To moulder. ఉప్పురిసిపోయిన mouldering, dilapidated. కప్పురిసిన యిల్లు a house that sweats salt or that is going to decay. ఉప్పు సముద్రము uppu-samudramu. n. The ocean or salt sea.

(p. 300) kuḷlu or క్రుళ్లు kuḷḷu. [Tel.] v. n. To rot, decay, fret away, become putrid. To pine or rot with envy. నీ అదృష్టము కుళ్లినది you are very lucky. కుళ్లిపోయిన rotten, putrid మనంబునగ్రుళ్లుచు grieving sorrowing.

(p. 340) kṣīṇamu kshīṇamu. [Skt.] adj. Wasted, emaciated, decayed, exhausted, slender, thin. క్షయించిన, హీనమైన, కృశించిన, నశించిన, మదక్షీణోనాగః an elephant which is emaciated in its rut. క్షీణైపుణ్యేమర్త్యలోకంవిశంతి when their stock of merit [enjoyed by good men] is exhausted, they drop [in the shape of falling stars] again into mortal life. క్షీణపుణ్యులు those whose merit is exhausted. అక్షీణ undiminished. Vasu. i. 7. క్షీణము n. Decline, decay, decrease. క్షయము, తగ్గు. ఆయుఃక్షీణము the decline of one's age. ధనక్షీణము decrease of wealth. క్షీణత or క్షీణత్వము kshīṇata. n. 'పప్పులోనుప్పు మిక్కిలి పారజల్లి, నేతిలో నాముదపుపుచ్చు నిండనించి,' Jagannadha. i. 67. పుచ్చు is used idiomatically with some nouns to give them an active force. ఆ బిడ్డను నిద్రపుచ్చినది she put the child to sleep. నూరు రూపాయలతో ఆ యిల్లు కట్టడమును సరిపుచ్చినాడు he finished the building of the house with a hundred rupees. మోసపుచ్చు to deceive, cheat. చిన్నపుచ్చు to disgrace. ప్రొద్దుపుచ్చు to pass or kill time, కాలక్షేపము చేయు. ఇంతప్రొద్దు పుచ్చినందుకు యేతువేమి what is the reason of your making so much delay? 'చాకివాడుకోక చీకాకుపడజేసి, మయలబుచ్చి మంచిమడుపుచేయు, బుద్ధిచెప్పువాడు గుద్దిననేమయా.' Vēma. 230. 'పరులమోసపుచ్చి ధరరూకలార్జించి, కడుపునించుకొనుటకానిపద్దు.' Vēma. 258.

(p. 769) puppi puppi. [Tel. from పుచ్చు to rot.] n. Decay, rottenness, పుచ్చడము. పుప్పిపురుగు an insect found in rotten timber, నుసి పురుగు. adj. Decayed, rotten. పుప్పిపల్లు a decayed tooth.

(p. 771) purugu or పురువు purugu. [Tel.] n. A worm, any insect or reptile that has no wings. క్రిమి, కీటకము. గుల్లపురుగు a shell fish. వారి పురుగు లేకుండా చేసినాడు he exterminated them. వాడు చెడు పురుగు he is a vile wretch. పురుగుపట్టిన infested with insects, decayed.

(p. 1009) murugu murugu. [Tel.] v. n. &a. To putrefy, mortify, rot, decay, కుళ్లు. To pine, languish. మురుగుడు muruguḍu. adj. Rotten, putrid, putrefied, stinking, మురిగిన, కుళ్లిన, కంపెత్తిన, మరుగుడువాసన a stench, stink. మురుగుడునీరు stagnant water. మురుగుడునెయ్యి rancid butter. మరుగుడుపొలము land filled with foul water.
