R. v. 207. ఆడుతోడు āḍu-tōḍu. [Tel.] A female companion. ఆడుది āḍudi. A woman. ఆడుబిడ్డ āḍu-biḍḍa. A little girl. The sister of a woman's husband. ఆడుముండ āḍu-muṇḍa. An abusive word for a woman: equivalent to slut, jade, wretch. ఆడువీడు woman's town, a place without brave men. See ఆడ adj.

(p. 393) gōmukhamu gō-mukhamu. [Skt.] n. A sort of trumpet. Also smearing with cowdung. The front or spout of the lingam. The spout for water in the wall of a temple. గోముఖవ్యాఘ్రము gō-mukha-vyāghramu. n. A tiger in the disguise of a cow, i.e., a hypocrite. పైకి మంచివాని వలెనుండే దుష్టుడు.

(p. 946) maṇi maṇi. [Skt.] n. A gem, a precious stone. పచ్చరాయిలోనగునది. A pearl, ముత్తెములోనగునది. In compounds this denotes Unrivalled excellence, as నాయికామణి a woman who is a gem of her sex. వప్రమణి the noblest of Brahmins. సుందరీమణి the loveliest of women. అంగనామణులు lovely women. దినమణి the gem of day, i.e., the sun. నవమణులు nine precious stones, viz. గోమేధికము Onyx, నీలము Sapphire, పగడము Coral, పుర్యరాగము Topaz, మరకతము Emerald, మాణిక్యము Ruby, Carbuncle; ముత్యము Pearl, వైడూర్యము Cat's eye. lapis lazuli; వజ్రము Diamond. మణులుచెక్కిన సంకెళ్లు jewelled fetters, i.e., disguised difficulties. మణికంఠము maṇi-kanṭhamu. n. The Indian Roller, Corracia indica, చాషము, పాలపిట్ట మణికట్టు, మనికట్టు or మణిబంధము maṇi-kaṭtu. [Tel.] n. The wrist; మణికట్లను తెగగొట్టు to cut off the hands. మణికారుడు maṇi-kāruḍu. n. A jeweller. A lapidary, or worker in precious stones. రత్నములు సానబట్టువాడు. మణిపట్టు maṇi-paṭṭu. n. A sort of flowered silk. ఒకవిధమైనపట్టు. మణిప్రవాళము maṇi-pravāḷamu. n. A doggerel verse: or a mixed language, part Sanscrit, part Telugu or Tamil, రెండు భాషలు కలిసిన. ముణిభతు maṇi-phittu. n. A diamond. Lit. Beauty, సౌందర్యము. నిజరూపము, ఉన్నరూపము or కలరూపము the real form the fact, the very truth, reality. అర్థరూపము and పూర్ణరూపము are terms in statuary for the profile and front figure. మారురూపము metamorphosis, another shape, a disguise. రూపకముగా or రూపముగా rūpakamu-gā. adv. (p. 1226) vēṣamu or వేశము vēshamu. [Skt.] n. Dress, garb, habit, a fashion or manner of dress, costume, a disguise or guise. వస్త్రభూషణాదులు అలంకరించుకొనడదము. మారువేషము a false garb, a disguise. 'తక్షకుండునగ్నవేషధరుడై.' M. 1. i. 151. వేషమువేయు to put on a disguise. కృష్ణవేషమువేసినాడు or కట్టినాడు he dressed or disguised himself as Krishna. తలనొప్పిగా నున్నదని వేషమువేసినాడు he feigned a head-ache. వేషగాడు vēsha-gāḍu. n. (p. 1226) vēsamu vēsamu. [from Skt. వేషము.] Same as వేషము (q. v.) Plu. వేసాలు. 'వేసాలెల్లాభువిలో గ్రాపాలకెగాకముక్తికలిమికినేలా.' వేసగాడు vēsa-gāḍu. n. A person in disguise, a masker, అన్యవేషములు వేసికొన్నవాడు. వేసాలమారి vēsāḷa-māri. n. One who feigns, మాయలమారి.

(p. 1243) śabara ṣabara. [Skt.] adj. Barbarous, savage. చెంచుసంబంధమైన. శబరవేషము disguise in the dress of a savage. శబరాలయము a hamlet of a savage tribe, బోయపల్లె. శబరి ṣabari. n. Nature, natural state, property, disposition, peculiarity, inclination, turn of mind. సహజమైన గుణము. కుటిల స్వభావుడు a man of crooked disposition. వాడు తన స్వభావమును విడువకపోయినాడు he did not abandon his natural disposition. తనస్వభావము కొద్దీ చేసినాడు he did it according to his own temper. స్వభావముగా sva-bhāvamu-gā. adv. Naturally, frankly, freely, sincerely, without disguise. సహజముగా, నిష్కపటముగా, ధారాళముగా.
