(p. 164) upāyamu upāyamu. [Skt.] n. A contrivance, expedient, means, method, agency. వెరవు. ఉపాయము కల్పించు to contrive. చతురుపాయములు or ఉపాయచతుష్టయము, the four devices, i.e., సామము using gentle or pacific means, దానము giving presents or bribing, భేదము sowing dissensions among the enemy or dividing his force or strength, దండము punishment. ఉపాయముగా upāyamu-gā. adv. Cleverly, artfully. ఉపాయశాలి upāya-ṣāli. n. A clever man, a man of tact, a man of many devices.

(p. 424) cīlu chīlu. [Tel.] v. n. To split or crack. విదారితమగు. To withdraw from company. To be scattered. To fall off or drop off as paint. Damage, harm, ruin, loss, spoiling, dissension. పని చెరుపు hindrance, prevention. పనిచెరుపు కథ a nonsensical idle story. చెరుపుదల. cherupu-dala. n. Injuriousness, hurtfulness. చెరుపరి one who spoils or ruins. నాశకుడు.

Disagreement, dissension. నైమనస్యము. R. vi. 8. భేదనము bhēdana-mu. n. Dividing, separating, tearing, breaking, discriminating. భేదించుట. భేది or బేది bhēdi. n. That which breaks or penetrates. A purge, or purging. భేదిమందు a purgative medicine. భేదికరమైన purgative. భేదించు bhēdinṭsu. v. n. To vary, differ, deviate. వేరగు.
