(p. 1005) mudra mudra. [Skt.] n. A seal: a seal ring, or signet. The stamp, print, or impression of a seal. A distinguishing mark impressed or burned upon a man or beast. Coinage. మునుపటిముద్ర రూపాయి a rupee of the old coinage. Gesticulation, attitude. మౌనముద్ర the seal of silence, i.e., silence. నిద్రాముద్ర the seal of sleep, i.e., sound sleep. జ్ఞానముద్ర a particular position of the fingers used in religious ceremonies. ముద్రలు marks impressed upon sand or clay placed on heaps of grain, the permanent marks made on the shoulders representing the insignia of Vishnu which are the shell and the wheel, &c. వాడు ముద్రాధారణము చేసికొనినాడు he received the seals, i.e., his shoulders were sealed with the shell and wheel of Vishṇu. మధ్యులు గోపిముద్రలు వేసికొందురు they wear patches of brown clay. వానికి శునకముద్ర వేసినారు they stamped him with the figure of a dog. ముద్రకర్త mudra-karta. n. An apparitor, the lowest local officer attached to a Guru or priest, ఆయా స్థలములలో గురువుయొక్క తాబేదారుగానుండేవాడు. ముద్రకోల mudra-kōla. n. A stamp to mark or seal with. The insignia of Vishnu, being the shell and wheel made in copper. ముద్రవేయు సాధనము, ముద్రధారణముచేయు సుదర్శన పాంచజన్యములు. ముద్రగడ mudra-gaḍa. n. A sceptre, a royal staff. 'తన ముద్రగడవేరుతలగ బట్టించి.' Pal. 450. A wooden stamp. ముద్రగరిటె mudra-gariṭe. n. A ladle shaped mace or large spoon borne in state before a person in authority, దేశాయీలు మొదలైనవారిముందర బిరుదుగా తీసికొనిపోవు గంటలుగల యిత్తడిగరిటె. ముద్రణము mudraṇamu. n. Setting one's seal to. ముద్రించుట. Dooming, giving a decision, సిద్ధాంతప్రతిపాదనము. 'కనకాద్రిముద్రణగ్రంథకర్త.' A. ii. 45. టీ మేరుపునందును తన ముద్ర చెల్లించువాడు. ముద్ర తీసివేయు mudra-tīsi-vēyu. v. a. To unseal. ముద్రాధారణము mudrā-dhāra-ṇamu. n. Sealing , i.e., the act of impressing the shell and wheel of Vishnu on either shoulder. చక్రంకనము చేసికొనుట. ముద్రపలక mudra-palaka. n. A wooden stamp for sealing a heap of corn. ధాన్యరాశిమీద ముద్ర వేసేపలక. ముద్రమనిషి mudra-manishi. n. A sealer, i.e., a bailiff who seals heaps of corn. అంబారములకు ముద్ర వేయు బంట్రౌతు. ముద్రవేయు mudra-vēyu. v. a. To seal. ఈబోగమువాండ్లు ఆగుడికి ముద్రవేయబడినారు these dancing girls are dedicated to that temple. ముద్రాంకితము mudr-ānkitamu. adj. Sealed, marked with a seal. ముద్రవేయబడిన. ముద్రాంకితుడు mudr-āankituḍu. adj. One who is impressed with shoulder. సమాశ్రయణము. చేసికొన్నవాడు. ముద్రాక్షరశాల mudr-āksharu-ṣāla. n. A press or printing office. అచ్చుయిల్లు, అచ్చుకూటము. ముద్రించు mudrinṭsu. v. a. To seal. ముద్రవేయు, అచ్చువేయు. 'మృషావాదింజేయుదు ననుతలంపు ముద్రించి.' HN. v. 176. ముద్రిక mudrika. n. A seal ring, శిఖాఉంగరము. ముద్రితము mudritamu. adj. Sealed, marked, stamped, closed. ముద్రవేయబడిన, మూసికొనిన, ముకుళితమైన.

(p. 1187) vilakṣaṇamu or విలక్షణత vi-lakshaṇamu. n. Difference. భేదము. 'శక్రాదులందు నొకడు గాడనుచుశ్రుతియేవిలక్షణతదెలిపె.' A. iii. 13. టీ విలక్షణత, వైలక్షణ్యము. విలక్షణము vi-lakshaṇamu. adj. Other, different. భిన్నమైన. Handsome, beautiful, elegant, excellent, select. విశేషలక్షణముగల, సుందరమైన, ఉత్తమమైన, దివ్యమైన, యోగ్యమైన ఇది విలక్షణమైనపడుచు she is a handsome girl. విలక్షణముగా vi-lakshaṇamu-gā. adv. Properly, with propriety, handsomely, excellently. చక్కగా, అందముగా, దివ్యముగా. ఆ పెండ్లి విలక్షణముగా జరిగినది that marriage went off very well. విలక్షణుడు vi-lakshaṇuḍu. n. One who is highly accomplished, a model of excellence. One who differs from the common order, one who has some distinguishing qualities, భిన్నుడు, ఉత్కృష్టుడు. వాడు విలక్షణూడుకాడు he is not a man of strict religious habits. 'వీనికత్యంత విలక్షణుండునునక్షయుండును నట్లగుట నింతయనర్థమూలంబగు.' A. iii. 82.

(p. 1190) vivēkamu vi-vēkamu. [Skt.] n. Discrimination, judgment, the faculty of distinguishing, prudence, discretion, సదసద్వివేచన, విభేదజ్ఞానము, తెలివి. 'వినువివేకమనెడు వింతగొడ్డలిచేత నలయవిద్యయనెడునడవినరికి.' Vema. 341. 'తనవివేకములోకమువారు మెచ్చగా.' T. ii. 38. వివేకములోకమువారు వివేకముకలిగియుండు to come to oneself, reflect, be wise. తెలివి తెచ్చుకొను. వివేకి vi-vēki. n. One who is cautious or prudent. తెలివిగలవాడు. వివేకించు or వివేచించు vi-vēkinṭsu. v. a. To reason, discriminate, distinguish. విమర్శచేయు, విచారించు, వివేచనచేయు. 'చదువులన్ని జదివి చాలవివేకింప కపటికెన్ననేలకలుగుముక్తి.' Vema. 429. వివేదన or వివేచనము vi-vēchaṇa. n. Discrimination, examination, investigation. విమర్శ, విచారణ. వర్ణవివేచన discrimination of caste.

(p. 1192) viśēṣamu vi-ṣēshamu. [Skt.] n. Sort, kind, species, variety, భేదము, విధము. A particularity, speciality, peculiarity, singularity. A specific quality, a distinguishing property, a characteristic. A particular thing, an individual, an object distinguished by some attribute or adjunct. Merit, excellence; something noteworthy or distinguished, a remarkable occurrence, news. చూడదగిన యుత్తమవస్తువు. అతిశయము, వింత, వింతరూపము. A charitable or virtuous action. సత్కార్యము, పుణ్యము. ఈ వైద్యునికి హస్తవిశేషముకద్దు this doctor has a fortunate hand. ఓషధివిశేషము a sort of herb. అక్షక్రీడావిశేషము a kind of diceplay. నేడేమివిశేషము what is there particular to-day? What is the matter to-day? ఆయన విశేషజ్ఞుడు he is a great scholar. adj. Extraordinary, eminent, remarkable, unusual. Much, more, abundant, greater, exceeding, surpassing. అతిశయమైన, వింతైన, అత్యంతమైన. విశేషమైన కార్యము a good deed. ఈ శ్లోకమునకు ఒక విశేషార్థమున్నది this verse has a secondary or recondite meaning. విశేషణము vi-ṣēshanamu. n. (In grammar). An adjective. విశేష్యలక్షణములనుచెప్పేది, గుణవాచకశబ్దము. విశేషించు vi-ṣēshinṭsu. v. n. To excel. అతిశయించు. విశేషించి or విశేషముగా vi-ṣēshinchi. adv. Abundantly, plentifully, much, exceedingly. తరచుగా, విస్తారముగా, మిక్కిలి, మిగుల. అతనితో విశేషించి సహవాసము చేయవద్దు you should not associate much with him. 'ఈ యత్రికుమారునింబోషించెదవిశేషించినేట నుండియు బ్రాణపదంబుగాగారవించెద.' T. ii. 178. విశేష్యము vi-ṣēshyamu. n. (In grammar), a noun or substantive. నామవాచకపదము, వస్తువాచకశబ్దము.

(p. 1231) vyaṅgyamu vyangyamu. [Skt.] n. Sarcasm, irony, covert expression of contempt, &c. అవక్షేపము, శ్లేషకథ. వ్యంగ్యోక్తి a sarcastic speech or expression. 'కాంతకిట్లనియెవ్వంగ్యము గానబడగ.' L. viii. 84. Impropriety, indecency, indelicacy, ఎబ్బెరికము. ఇది వారికి వ్యంగ్యముకాదు among them this is no indecency. వ్యంజకము vyanjakamu. adj. Making clear or plain, distinguishing, indicative or expressive of passion or feeling. ప్రకాశమైన, సుచకమైన, బోధకమైన. వ్యంజనము vyanjanamu. n. A mark, sign, token. గురుతు, చిహ్నము. A consonant (in grammar.) హల్లు. కాదిఅక్షరము. A sauce, or condiment. అన్నోపకరణము. కూర. వ్యంజితము vyanjitamu. adj. Made visible, manifested. బైలుపెట్టబడిన.
