(p. 5) aṅgamu angamu. [Skt.] n. The body, a limb, member, part, division or branch. అంగవంచకము = ఉపాయము, సహాయము, దేశకాలవిభజనము, ఆపదకు ప్రతిక్రియ, కార్యసిద్ధి. అద్భుతాంగులు beings having wondrous forms. అష్టాంగములు = the eight forms or stages of meditation, i. e, యమము, నియమము, ప్రాణాయామము, ప్రత్యాహారము, ధ్యానము, ధారణ, మననము, సమాధి. చతురంగములు the four divisions of an army, i. e., రథములు, ఏనుగులు, గుర్రములు, బంటులు. పంచాంగము the Indian calendar giving particulars of each day, as తిథి, వారము, నక్షత్రము, యోగము, కరణము. రాజ్యాంగములు the various departments of Government. షడంగములు or వేదాంగములు the six sciences dependent on the Vedas. i. e., శిక్ష, కల్పము, వ్యాకరణము, నిరుక్తము, జ్యోతిషము, ఛందస్సు. సప్తాంగములు = the seven constituents of a Government. స్వామి, అమాత్యుడు, సుహృత్తు, కోశము, రాష్ట్రము, దుర్గము, బలము. సాష్టాంగ ప్రణామము prostrate homage, touching the ground with eight members of the body, i. e., eyes or chest and forehead, hands, knees and feet.

(p. 31) aṭṭa aṭṭa. [Tel.] n. The sole of a shoe or slipper; hide; leather. Card, pasteboard. A headless trunk. A part or division. చర్మము, మొండెము, భాగము. ఒంటట్ట చెప్పులు shoes with a single leather for a sole. చెమటట్ట a piece of leather put inside a shoe. అట్టపొట్టగా నుండేవాడు a stout pot-bellied man. అట్టలెత్తిన పాత్రమెట్టులు. A. vi. 103. 'అత్తెరంగునందు నిమియతం డయ్యట్టయుదలయును ధరణీతలగతంబుచేసె.' M. VII. v. 398. 'ఆ రాజులలో పరస్పర వైరంబు బుట్టించిన ఆ దండు రెండట్టలై.' G. vi. 92.

(p. 85) arra arra. [Tel.] n. A division, a partition. A room or chamber. పెట్టెలో యేర్పరచిన ఒక భాగము, అర, గది.

(p. 96) avāntaramu avāntaramu. [Skt.] adj. Included, subordinate. అంతర్భూతమైన, లోని, కింది. అవాంతరదశ a minor distinction: a species, a subdivision of a general term. అవాంతరశ్లోకము a spurious verse: an interpolation. అవాంతరకథ an episode. అవాంతరముగా unexpectedly.

(p. 154) uttaramu utt-aramu. [Skt.] n. An answer, a reply. A letter or epistle. The north. A command. ఉత్తర ప్రత్యుత్తరములు letter and reply, correspondence. ప్రశ్నోత్తరములు question and answer. ఉత్తరఖండము the northern division of the country. ఉత్తరాది ut-tārādi. n. The north, northern. ఉత్తరాదిదేశము the north country. ఉత్తరాయణము uttarāyaṇamu. [from ఉత్తర the north and ఆయనము going] n. The sun's progress to the north of the equator, the period of the year during which the sun is north of the equater, the summer solstice.

(p. 184) eḍapaḍu eḍa-paḍu. [Tel.] v. i. To break off, to separate. ఎడతెగు; to be pledged for పూటపడు. ఎడపడకునికి dissent, refusal, division. BD. i. 389.

(p. 205) oṇṭu onṭu. [Tel.] n. A share, division. A village community గ్రామసమూహము. A unit in numeration. సారెని ఒంటు the place or square in which a counter stands in a game at draughts. ఒంటు or ఒంటుబావిలి. n. A sort of ear-ring worn by by men. పురుషులకర్ణభూషణము. ఒంటు v. i. To agree with one's health, to be wholesome or salubrious. ఇముడు, అనుకూలించు. To touch, to go near, to approach చేరు. ఆ దేశానికిన్ని ఈ దేశమునకున్ను ఒంటక ఆశక్తముగానున్నది or అక్కడి నీళ్లకును ఇక్కడి నీళ్లకును. ఒంటనందున వానికి ఒళ్లు కుదురులేదు his health suffered from change of water, (change of air.) (p. 253) karnāṭakamu or కర్ణాటము karṇāṭakamu. [Skt. from కరి+నాడు, the black soil or country.] n. The Karṇāṭaka or Kannada language. The Carnatic dance. A comedy: that division of acting which relates to love tales and emotions of amorous passion. కర్నాటకమేళము Native music, a Hindu band. కర్ణాటకరాజుల కథలు. (p. 261) kaḷa or కల kaḷa. [Skt.] n. A degree, or sub-division. భాగము. That which proceeds by degrees, as effect, virtue, potency, influence, inclination. A ray or light. Look or appearance. A phase of the moon, of which the Hindus reckon sixteen. The degree in which one night's moon-light differs from that of the next. ముప్పది కాష్ఠలకాలము. చంద్రునిలో పదునారవ భాగము. In Telugu Grammar, a word that does not end with an N sound. A note, as being a subdivision of music. The nerves or ticklish parts of the body. దీపముయొక్క కళ the brightness of lamp. అతని ముఖ కళ his air, the effect of his features. పిచ్చికళ a look of madness. క్రూరకళ an angry look. నిద్రకళ drowsiness. కళాస్థానములు the nerves. 'కళలు చెమ్మగిలన్.' (T. ii. 82.) her heart melted: it touched her to the quick. ఈ గాడ్పుకళలనన్నిటిని పీల్చుచున్నది this burning wind exhausts the spirits దేహకళావ్యత్యయము a morbid affection: an injured constituion. దానికళ బహు బాగా ఉన్నది She has a very pretty air. పెద్దదయ్యేటప్పటికి కళవచ్చినది She is growing very pretty. కళ [Tel.] n.
