(p. 141) illu or ఇలు illu. [Tel. The primitive. form is ఇల్ which means 'a house. ఆలయము (q. v.) borrowed by Skt. from Drav. means (1) house and (2) 'God's abode' or house cf. కోయిల or కోవెల. In the Chaldee word 'Babylon (= bab-ilu), the latter part 'ilu' means 'God' by a transition of ideas.] n. A house, a chamber, room. Home, place, caste, family. A place or space in a table of accounts. A square at draughts or chess. (Genit. ఇంటి Dat. ఇంటికి. Loc. ఇంటిలో or ఇంట. Plural ఇండ్లు or ఇళ్లు.) మీరు ఏయిండ్లవారు who are you? of what family are you. 'మన యింటి చేటు చూచితే.' నిర్వ. ix. ఇంటిగుట్టు a family secret. ఇంటికి దూరమైన ceremonially unclean, i.e., ఋతుమతి యైన In poems మరునిల్లు is the భగము. ఇల్లు నింపడము setting up a house, house-warming వధూవరుల నూతన గృహప్రవేశము.

(p. 144) īḍupu or ఈడ్పు īḍupu. [Tel.] n. Pulling, dragging, impetus, hard breathing. A stitch in the side, the contraction of a limb. నీళ్లు నిండా యీడ్చుగానున్నవి the water runs here with a great draught. ఈడుపు or పొదికట్టు the sill, the side post of a door.

(p. 205) oṇṭu onṭu. [Tel.] n. A share, division. A village community గ్రామసమూహము. A unit in numeration. సారెని ఒంటు the place or square in which a counter stands in a game at draughts. ఒంటు or ఒంటుబావిలి. n. A sort of ear-ring worn by by men. పురుషులకర్ణభూషణము. ఒంటు v. i. To agree with one's health, to be wholesome or salubrious. ఇముడు, అనుకూలించు. To touch, to go near, to approach చేరు. ఆ దేశానికిన్ని ఈ దేశమునకున్ను ఒంటక ఆశక్తముగానున్నది or అక్కడి నీళ్లకును ఇక్కడి నీళ్లకును. ఒంటనందున వానికి ఒళ్లు కుదురులేదు his health suffered from change of water, (change of air.) See on నీళ్లు. ఒంటుకొను onṭu-konu. v. i. To touch, go near. తాకు. చేరు.

(p. 262) kavara or కవరకాయ kavara. [Tel.] n. A piece or man, at draughts. పాచిక. కవర్లాడు kavarl-āḍu. n. To squabble.

(p. 346) gaṅga ganga. [Skt. lit That which goes.] n. The river Ganges. Water in general. ఈ బావి గంగ మంచిది the water of this well is sweet. నేను వాని యింట్లో కొంచెము గంగనైనా తాగలేదు I did not take so much as a draught of water in his house. గోదావరి గంగ the waters of the Godavery. ఆకాశగంగ the river of heaven, మందాకిని, పాతాళగంగ the river of nether world, భోగవతి. గంగోదకము gang-ōdakamu. n. Holy water from the Ganges. [Tel.] adj. Large పెద్ద. గంగరావి the large Pepul tree. Venerable పూజ్యము. గంగగోవు a venerable cow పంచగంగలు the five great rivers, i.e., the Cauvery, the Tungabhadra, the Krishna, the Godavery and the Ganges. గంగచిప్ప ganga-chippa. n. A large white cockle shell. గంగడోలు ganga-ḍōlu. n. The dewlap of cows and other animals.

(p. 738) pānamu pānamu. [Skt.] n. Drinking. Also, a draught (of water, &c.) అన్నపానాదులు food and raiment. పానకము pānakamu. n. A sweet drink, a beverage made of sugar and water and drunk as sherbet. పానకపూజ a certain rite performed in the hot weather, when they hold a feast of cooling diets and drinks, with amusements. A. ii. 84. 88. పానగోష్ఠి or పానగోష్ఠిక pāna-gōshṭhi n. A dram shop, a place where people drink together. Vish. P. viii. 45. పానముచేయు pānamu-chēyu. v. a. To drink.

(p. 775) pulla pulla. [Tel.] n. A small bit or piece of stick. పుల్లలు small pieces of wood for fuel. వారిమీది వ్యాజ్యానికి పొమ్మని నాకు పుల్లలు పెట్టినాడు he goaded me on to quarrel with them. కుట్టుడాకుపుల్లలు pins used in making leaf platters. పానకములో పుల్లువలె అడ్డపడినాడు he came in my way like a twig in a draught of water. ఆ పనికి నీవు పుల్లలు వేయకు do not throw obstacles in its way.

(p. 1248) śāri ṣāri. [Skt.] n. A Myna, a bird akin to the starlings. గోరువంక, మైనాపిట్ట. A piece or man at draughts, సొగటాలకాయ, ౛ూదపుసారె.
