(p. 625) n . The letter N, pronounced as a dental. When followed by some consonants this changes into o (sunna) as అంత anta, కొండ konda, పెంకు penku. As an initial. N. is sometimes dropped, but only in few words. Thus ఏను, ఈవు, for నేను, నీవు.

(p. 800) poñcu ponṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To lie in wait: to crouch or lurk. సొంతురు they will lie in wait. 'పగలు తీర్తుమనుచు తొగరేని బొంతురు.' R. i. 129. పొంచు or పొంచిక ponṭsu. n. Lurking, eavesdropping, lying in ambush. పొంచుండేదొంగ an eaves dropper.

(p. 931) m ma. The letter M. It stands, like the English letter M for the hieroglyphie sign representing the horns of an owl. (See Taylor.) This letter when an initial is sometimes dropped in poetry. Thus ఏము is written for మేము Sometimes it is inserted to prevent elision as in ఉస్సుమనుచు, నిగనిగమనును.

To fall off or down, to drop, to run or flow off, as tears, &c. పతనమగు, పడు. ఆకులు రాలును leaves fall. వానికండ్లలో నిప్పులు రాలినవి fire flashed from his eyes. ఈ కరువులో జనము ఎండాకులు రాలినట్టు రాలిపోయినది in this famine the people dropped down like withered leaves. 'చాలదోయిటనెత్తి చల్లిననిసుక రాలనియట్టి యరణ్యాంతరమున.' BD. v. 854. రాలుగాయ rālu-gāya. n. A wicked or mischievous boy. తుంటపిల్లకాయ. రాలు గాయతనము rālu-gāya-tanamu. n. Wickedness, mischief. తుంటతనము. 'తే వాడు నానాటికభివృద్ధి వరలబెరిగి, కాకలను దీరిగడిమీరి గట్టిపారి, రాలుగాయతనానబేరజపుదారి, నారితే రెనెరాగంట్ల మారిమయ్యె.' H. v. 126. రాలుచు, రాల్చు, రాలగొట్టు, రాలిపివేయు or రాల్పివేయు rāluṭsu. v. a. To knock off, beat down, shed, రాలజేయు. అది కండ్ల నీళ్లు రాల్చినది she shed tears. రాలుపు rālupu. n. Falling off, dropping, as leaves, రాలుట.

(p. 1108) lēki lēki. [Tel.] n. Grain dropped down on the ground, రాలిన ధాన్యపుగిం౛లు. A worthless wretch, a vagabond. దేవురుగొట్టు, పనికిమాలినవాడు, పనికిమాలినది, అప్రయోజకుడు. 'లేకులలోకులకాకరుపులకు చాకిచాకనియేల సందడించెదవు.' BD. iv. 101. లేకిచేష్టలు silly doings. లేకిబడియ a rascal, a scoundrel. లేకిబ్రతుకు lēki-bratuku. n. A miserable life, a hand to mouth livelihood. లేకివాడు lēki-vāḍu. n. One who lives from hand to mouth. A useless person. అప్రయోజకుడు.
