(p. 68) abhighariñcu abhi-gharinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To put a few drops of clarified butter upon rice before eating or before the rise is put into the sacrificial fire to purify the food. నేతి చుక్క వేయడము, భోజనమునకు ముందుగాగాని ఆహుతిచేయడమునకు ముందుగాగాని అన్నములో నేతి చుక్క వేయడము.

(p. 69) abhighāramu abhi-ghāramu. [Skt.] n. Ghee or clarified butter. నేతిబొట్టు, usually putting a few drops of clarified butter upon rice prior to eating: or putting it in the sacrficial fire to purify the rice.

(p. 73) abhyāgatuḍu abhy-āgatuḍu. [Skt.] n. A guest, a visitor, one who drops in at dinner. అతిథి. అభ్యాగతపూజ or అభ్యాగతసేవ courteous reception of a guest. Welcome given to a guest.

(p. 109) āgantukamu āgantukamu. [Skt.] adj. Unexpected (as a guest dropping in.) ఆగంతుకుడు or ఆగంతువు āgantukuḍu. n. A guest, a stranger, one who drops in. పరదేశి, అతిథి.

(p. 142) īku īku. [Tel.] v. n. To be imbibed: to soak in. ఇంకు. To drop off, as feathers. ఈకువ īkuva. n. Dampness, wetness. తడి.

(p. 172) uśīramu uṣīramu. [Skt.] n. A sort of fragrant root, Audropogon muricaṭus usually termed వట్టివేరు cuss-cuss.

(p. 174) ūḍu ūḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To part, drop out, slip out, జారు, రాలు. To give way, fail: to be unfastened, loosened, separated. వదులగు. To flee, run away. పారిపోవు. తండ్రి నోట్లో ఊడిపడ్డాడు he is the very image of his father. ఊడగొట్టు to take out, root up. remove. ఊడదీయు to pull out, to take off (skin or clothes), to unloose. ఊడబీకు to root out. ఊడలాగు to pull out, to draw out.

(p. 198) ēdu or ఏదువంది ēdu. [Tel.] n. A procupine. ముండ్లపంది. One species is called కోడియేదు but in the south it is called ఒంటరికాడు. HD. i. 512. ఏదుపెరికినట్లు or ఏదుపంది ముండ్లు తీసినట్లు like pulling out the porcupines quills. ఏదువాసన a disgusting smell like that of a porcupine. cf. 'It stinks like a badger.' ఏదుకర్రలవంకెలు (H. iv. 159.) a sort of grain. ఏదుగడ్డి ēdu-gaḍḍi. n. Andropagon contortus, or the Spear grass. (Watts.) ఏదువేట ēdu-vēṭa. n. A kind of chase. వేటలో నొక భేదము.

(p. 202) ēsi ēṣi. [Tel.] An affix. At the rate of, at. పదేసి at the rate of ten. ఇంతలేసి కన్నులు eyes so large. Also, for వేసి (the initial V being dropt); thus, పెల్లేసి for పెల్లలువేసి. ఏహ్యము ēhyamu. [Skt.] adj. Abominable.

(p. 204) ailāramu ailāramu. [Tel. for అయిలారము.] n. A root used as a medicine in dropsies.

(p. 205) ondu ondu. [Tel. from పొందు, the initial ప being dropped.] v. i. To obtain, possess, have పొందు, కలుగు. తెలివినొంది recovering the senses. నలువొంద beautifully.
