(p. 124) ālāpamu , ఆలాపన ā-lāpamu. [Skt.] n. Talking, lamentation. మాట. Recitation; the prelude in music; turning the voice or pitching the note. రాగాలాపము. ఆలాపించు ā-lāpinṭsu. v. n. To talk, to grieve. To tune the voice. రాగమునకు తిన్నగా ఈడ్చు.

(p. 199) ēmaru or ఏమరిల్లు ēmaru. [Tel.] v. n. To be off one's guard. To blunder, be deceived. To fall into a trap, or overlook a fact ప్రమాదపడు. ఏమరించు ēmarinṭsu. v. t. To make one forget himself. To ensnare, delude, entrap, as in an ambush. మోసపుచ్చు. ఏమరిక or ఏమరుపాటు ēmarika. n. The abl. is కంట thus కంటబడు to fall into the eye, to be in view. వానికి కండ్లు అగుపడవు he cannot see కన్నుకనబడనివాడు a blind man. కండ్లు తిరిగినవి I turned giddy. పెద్దకండ్లుచేయు to look angry. కన్నులెర్ర చేసికొను to make one's eyes inflamed with wrath. కన్నుగట్టు kannu-gaṭṭu. n. Fascination, deluding. కన్నుకట్టుట to delude, or blind the eyes. కన్నుకట్టువిద్య magic,legerdemain. The art of being invisible. కన్నుగవ or కన్నుదోయి A pair of eyes. కన్నునీరు or కన్నీరు tears. కన్నుబ్రాము (R. 1. 107.) To evade, delude. కన్నుమూసినగంత a blindman's buff. కన్నుమొరగు as though blind. కన్నుమెరగు or కనుమొరగు to delude వంచించు. కన్నులారచూచు to see with one's own eyes, view distinctly. కన్నువేయు to cast an eye on, to long for ఆశించు, కన్నులమ్రాను the sugar cane చెరకు. కన్నులవిలుకాడు Cupid మన్మథుడు .

(p. 282) kikiriñcu , కికురించు, కిక్కురించు or కికురుపెట్టు or కికురుపొడుచు kikirinṭsu. v. a. To wheedle, delude, hide from, cheat. మొరుగు, నక్కి నక్కి చేయు, వంచించు. కికురింత, కిక్కురింత or కికురు or కిక్కురు kikurinta. n. Deception, cheating. మోసము. వంచన.

(p. 493) ḍāgu or డాగురించు ḍāgu. [Tel.] v. n. To hide or lie hid. దాగిఉండు. v. a. To hide దాచు. To delude, to tempt. వంచించు. దాచు or డాచు ḍāṭsu. v. a. To hide or conceal, to veil.

(p. 508) tappu tappu. [Tel.] v. n. To err, fail, cease. To be lost, broken, changed, made void, or erroneous. దైవానుగ్రహము తప్పినందున through the divine favour being lost. To drop off, as a shackle. To go off, abate, as a pain. రేపుతప్పినది the ford is missed. అడుగులో పిడుగుతిప్పు a great mistake in a short space. ఆయువుతప్పినవాడయినాడు he declined into the vale of years. v. a. To transgress, to miss. తప్పుచేయు, అతిక్రమించు. దినము తప్పుదినము every other day, missing one day in turn. ఒకటితప్పి ఒకటి one now and then; here and there one. తప్పివచ్చినపని a thing that happened unexpectedly, or out of the common way. మాటతప్పు to break one's word or promise. తప్పక tappaka. adv. Unfailingly, steadfastly, steadily, certainly, surely. తప్పచూచు tappa-ṭsūṭsu. v. t. To disregard. దైవము తప్ప చూచినందున as God withdrew his favour. తప్పు or తప్పితము or తప్పిదము. (తప్పు+ఇతము or ఇదము.) n. An error, fault, mistake, offence. తప్పుపలుకు to say what is wrong or false. తప్పులుపట్టు to find fault with, to cavil. adj. Erroneous, mistaken, faulty, wrong. Foul or entangled. తప్పుకూడు unlawful food. తప్పుటడుగులు పెట్టు to stagger or totter as an infant. తప్పుదారి or తప్పుదోవ a wrong road. తప్పించు tappinṭsu. v. a. To extricate, to set free విడిపించు. To take away, remove, lose, shift, alter. తాడు తప్పించుట to get the cord free, to extricate it. నా జీవనము తప్పించినాడు he took away my living. To elude ముఖము తప్పించు to abscond. To cause to cross over, pass by, transgress, depart from (an agreement.) దోవతప్పించినాడు he misled me. తప్పించుకొను tappinṭsu-konu. v. n. To get free, to escape. ప్రాణము తప్పించుకొని వస్తిని I escaped with my life. తప్పుడు or తప్పుదల. tappuḍu. n. Missing, making a mistake తప్పుట. తప్పుడు adj. Wrong తప్పైన. తప్పుడుపడు or తప్పుపడు to make a mistake సరితప్పు.

(p. 586) dāṭu dāṭu. [Tel.] v. n. &a. To cross over, to pass over. To jump or leap, లంఘించు, To elude. To escape. To go beyond or transgress, ఉల్లంఘించు. To cross or copulate, applied to cattle. నామాట అడుగుదాటకు transgress not my command. n. A crossing. A jump, గంతు, లంఘనము. A host, any army, సమూహము. చతురంగబలయుతసేన. Vijaya. i. 174. Pārij. iv. 5. A sore due to having crossed some unlucky spot. దాటులుదాటించిరి they made the cattle pass over a ploughshare for good luck. Also, an ordeal; passing or stepping over an idol. దాట్రాయి or దాటురాయి dāṭrāyi. n. A boys' game. దాట్లువేయు dāṭlu-vēyu. v. n. To bound or jump. దాట్లువేస్తూరావడము to come bounding along. దాటుకట్టు dāṭu-kaṭṭu. v. n. To become a crowd. గుంపుకూడు. దాటుకొను. Same as దాటు. దాటించు dāṭinṭsu. v. a. To cause to pass over. To pass over. అక్కడ పది దినములు దాటించినాడు he passed ten days there.

(p. 601) duddu duddu. [Tel.] n. The pericarp or centre bulb of a lotus: తామర పువ్వులోని దిమ్మె, కర్ణిక. A mark on a letter written on a palm leaf, తాటాకుజాబుమీది చంద్రిక. A sort of ear ornament worn by women. ఒక విధమైన చెవికమ్మ. adj. Coarse, not fine. False, అసత్యము. దుద్దుపెట్టు to evade, elude. దుద్దెక్కు duddekku. v. n. To excel. అతిశయించు. BD. i. 910. ఇట్లు చేయడానకు వానికేమి దుద్దుపట్టినది (అనగా దురద) what could bewitch him to do this? దుద్దుకంబళి or దుద్దుగొంగళి duddu-kambaḷi. n. A sort of woollen cloth.
