The Universe.గుడ్డు, వృషణము, ప్రపంచము. అండాకర్షణము castration. అండాకారముగా having the shape of an egg, elliptical. అండాకృతి an ellipsis. అండవాయువు anḍa-vāyuvu. [Skt.] n. The disease orchitis (swelled testicle.) బుడ్డ అండవృద్ధి anḍa-vriddhi. [Skt.] n. The enlargement of the scrotum, hydrocele.

(p. 91) alluḍu alluḍu. [Tel. from అల్లు lit. one who plaits, i.e., who is the means by which the family circle is enlarged.] n. A son-in-law. జామాత, మేనల్లుడు the son of a man's sister, or of a woman's brother. అల్లుడుకొమాళ్లు n. plu. Foster brothers or vassals, who feed at the baron's table and form his body-guard. దొరతోదొరగా భోజనము చేసి అతనికి అంగరక్షకులుగా నుండేవారు. అల్లువాడు n. A son-in-law. అల్లుడు, జామాత. 'అల్లువాని మృతికి నాత్మజింతించును, తనయు మృతికి దానె తలచుచుండు, పుణ్యపురుషు మృతికి భూలోకజనులకు నుర్వి క్రుంగినట్టులుండు.' Vema. 1288.

(p. 674) negaḍu or నపడు negaḍu. [Tel.] v. n. To increase; to extend, to spread. వర్ధిల్లు, వెలయు. ఆ గ్రామము నెగడి కసుబా అయినది the village has enlarged and become a town. n. A polypus, or marine animal (మకరము), supposed to entangle swimmers. జలగ్రహము. The red sea weed, (tangle or dulse.) తంతునాగము. నెగడుపడిన clogged, trammelled. నెగడు కొట్టినట్టు ఉన్నారు they appeared to be astounded. నెగడించు negaḍinṭsu. v. a. To spread, to extend, as fame, &c.

(p. 785) pempu pempu. [Tel. for పెను.] n. Greatness. మహత్వము, అధిక్యము, అతిశయము. Honour, గౌరవము. Rearing, nourishing, fostering, సాకుట. Increase, growth, వృద్ధి. Plenty. సమృద్ధి. Ruin, నాశము, లయము. గ్రామమును పెంపు చేసినవారు those who enlarged the town. v. a. To ruin, నాశముచేయు. పెంపుడు pempuḍu. adj. Fostered, reared, adopted (as a son,) brought up, tamed, domesticated, పెంపబడిన. పెంపుడుకొమారుడు or దత్తపుత్రుడు an adopted son. పెంవుడుతల్లి an adoptive mother. పెంపుడుతండ్రి an adoptive father. పెంపుడుచిలుక a pet parrot. పెంపరలాడు pemp-ara-l-āḍu. v. n. To be increased, augmented. మిక్కుటమగు. పెంపారు, పెంపగు, పెంపుచెందు, పెంపొందు or పెంపుమీరు pemp-āru. v. n. To increase, grow, improve. వర్ధిల్లు, గొప్పయగు, అతిశయించు.

A long loose necklace, దండ. దొంగయని పేరుపడినాడు he is notorious as a thief. మంచివాడని పేరెత్తినాడు he is well known as a good man. నిన్నుకొట్టకుంటే నాపేరు రాయుడుకాదు if I do not beat you my name is not Rama. నానుపేరుగలకంఠి a kind of necklace. adj. Great, అధికము. Large, పెద్ద. పేరోడ a large ship. Vish. iii. 393. పేరెండ fierce sunshine. ib. vi. 304. పేరలుక great anger. T. iii.86. 119. పేరురము a broad breast. పేరెలుగెత్తి పలికిరి they spoke aloud. R. v. 220. పేరంగద a great misfortune, మహత్తైన ఆపద. పేరెలమి great joy. M. XIII. i. 242. పేరుంగరము pēr-ungaramu. n. A ring with one's name cut on it, a signet ring, పేరుచెక్కిన ఉంగరము, సిఖాఉంగరము. పేరు or పేరుకొను pēru. v. n. To congeal, curdle, harden or thicken, as melted butter or curds. ఘనీభవించు, దట్టమగు. పాలు పేరబెట్టినది she set the milk to curdle. To increase, అతిశయించు. పేరుకొను or పేర్కొను pēru Konu. v. a. To call one by his name to call, to utter. పేరుపెట్టి పిలుచు, పిలుచు, ఉచ్చరించు. To praise, స్థుతించు. 'భయకంపితద్గదకంఠనాదియై జనకునితల్లిబేరుకొని సంతతముల్ పరిదేననంబు మానని నృపకన్య నూరడిల నమ్మికమాటలు బల్కి.' Vish. vi. 220. పేరుకోలు pēru-kōlu. n. Calling one by his name, &c. పేరు గ్రుచ్చు or పేరుకూర్చు pēru-gruṭsṭsu. v. a. To call one by his name, పేరుపెట్టిపిలుచు. To tell to say, to mention. చెప్పు, ఉదహరించు. పేర or పేరట pēra. adv. In the name of, in one's name. By name. నా పేరట వ్రాసినాడు he wrote to my name, i.e., wrote to me. నా పూర్వులపేరట పుట్టినమాన్యము a grant made to my ancestors. తల్లి పేరట ఒక పల్లె కట్టెను he built a village in his mother's name. In translation into English we omit 'name.' దినాలపేరట in course of time. పేరి pēri. adj. Named, by name, videlicet, id est. పేరుగల, 'శాంత పేరికాంతాలలామ' a woman named Sānta. R. ii. 139. పేరిటి pēriṭi. adj. Directed to, bearing the superscription of, as అతని పేరిటి౛ాబు a letter for you. నీపేరటివాడు a man bearing your name. పేరుపెట్టు pēru-peṭṭu. v. n. To name, to give newly a name or appellation. పేర్వేర pēr-vēra. adv. Name by name. ప్రతిమనిషియొక్కయును పెరుపెట్టి. 'పేర్వేరబొమ్మల పెండ్లిండ్లు సేయుచు నబలలతో డవియ్యంబులందు.' B. X. 1818. (Rukmini kalyan.) పేరడవి pēr-aḍavi. (పేరు+అడవి.) n. A great forest, a wilderness. మహారణ్యము. పేరాముదము pēr-āmudamu. (పేరు+ఆముదము.) n. The large kind of castor oil tree, పెద్దాముదము as opposed to చిట్టాముదము, a smaller species. పేరోలగము pēr-ōlagamu. n. A great court, or assembly. నిండుసభ. పేరుడు pēruḍu. n. The act of congealing, or thickening. పేరుకొనుట, ఘనీభవించుట. పేరుచు or పేర్చు pēruṭsu. v. n. To excel, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు. To pile, to heap up. To increase, to enlarge: to display. ఒకటిమీద నొఖటిని వరుసగాపెట్టు, విశేషింపజేయు. చితిపేర్చిరి they prepared a funeral pile. A large flat bottomed boat, a raft. వెడలుపైన అడుగుగల పడవ. బల్లకూర్పు balla-kūrpu. n. Wainscotting, planking, joiner's work. బల్లకూర్పుటిల్లు a house built of boards. బల్లకోల balla-kōla. n. A sort of spear of harpoon. పంట్రకోల. 'భ్రమితేంద్రియములను బలునిర్రె నేసి, భాషాప్రణీతమన్బలుబల్లకోల, నీషణత్రయమను నెలుగుకన్నొడిచి.' BD. v. 1443. బల్లగోలలవారు balla-gōlala-vāru. n. Lancers. (p. 1196) vistaramu vistaramu. [Skt.] n. Spreading, expansion; prolixity, detail, abundance, plenty. శబ్దాదులవిస్తృతి, వ్యాప్తి, ప్రాచుర్యము, బాహుళ్యము. విస్తరించచి visarinchi. (participle used adverbially) Much, abundantly, greatly, considerably. నిండా, మిక్కుటముగా విస్తరిలు or విస్తరిల్లు vistarilu. v. n.
