Age, time of life. ప్రాయము. ఈడైన equal. రెండేండ్ల యీడుగల two years old. ఈడుచాలిన or ఈడువచ్చిన full grown, adult. ఈడుచాలని or ఈడురాని not full grown, minor. ఈడుమీరిన too old. 2. Resemblance, similarity, proportion. A match, a rival. సమానము. ఈడుపడు īḍu-paḍu. v. i. To become equal. సమానమగు. ఈడుపరచు īḍu-paraṭsu. v. a. To equalize, to compare.

(p. 158) uddi uddi. [Tel.] n. A match, an equal, a rival. Rivalry, equality. A bank or dam with a channel on it, into which water is pumped to be conveyed to higher lands. The name of a certain tree. Bignonia spathacea. Rox. iii. 103. జత, సమానము. ఉద్దిచూపు to rival. ఉద్దులు equals సమానులు. ఉద్దులుద్దులుగా పోరాడి fighting hand to hand. ఉద్ది uddi. adj. Paired, couple, side by side. ఉద్దించు uddinṭsu. v. a. To pair, match, couple. జతపరచు, పోలు, ఉద్దికాడు uddikāḍu. n. A match, an equal. A friend ౛తకాడు, చెలికాడు.

(p. 212) orakaṭamu or ఒరకము or ఒరకాటము orakaṭamu. [Tel.] n. Steepness, inequality. Depth, difficulty. పల్లము, సంకటము. ఒరకటవునేల an uneven spot. ఒరకటపు త్రోవ an uneven road.

(p. 734) pāṭi pāṭi. [Tel.] n. Degree, extent, quantity, size. ప్రమాణము. Value, character, quality, kind, sort. విధము. Fitness. Resemblance, equality, సామ్యము. adj. Equal, సమము. Common, general, సామాన్యము. Due, fit, న్యాయ్యము. Of such a size or character, కొలదిది. పాటికొల an exact measurement. ఈ పాటిచాలును so far will do, thus much is enough. 'పదుగురాడుమాట పాటియై ధరజెల్లు,' the words of many people will carry weight. ఈపాటికి వచ్చియుండును by this time he will have arrived. వానిపాటి యోగ్యత నీకు ఉండినను చాలును it will be enough if you are equal to him. ఏపాటి రూకలు how much money? అది ఒక పాటిగానున్నది it is tolerably good. పాటిరేవు a ford in a river. పాటినేల rich soil (see పాడు.) వీడు ఏపాటివాడు what kind of a man is he? సన్నపాటికర్ర a slender stick. తగుపాటి competent, fit, suitable. కొంచెపాటి small. కొంచెపాటివారు base men, low people. అల్పులు నీకు బుద్ధిచెప్పే పాటివాడు ఇక్కడ లేడు there is no one here fit to advise you. ఇది యేపాటిపని what sort of business is this? పాటిపాటిగా little by little, కొద్దికొద్దిగా. పాటిగొను pāṭi-gonu. v. a. To consider as equal, సరిచేయు.

(p. 1139) valayu valayu. [Tel.] v. n. To be liked, desired or wanted. ఇష్టమగు, విహితమగు. To be needful, or necessary, ఆవశ్యకమగు. To be proper, యుక్తమగు. To be surrounded, వలయతమగు. 'మృగమువలయంబారెన్.' పంచ. నా. ii. 'స్వబుద్ధిరాజుకు విశేషింపవలయు' (P. i. 391.) the use of his own judgment is much needed in a king. 'కయ్యమునకు నెయ్యమునకు వియ్యమునకు సమతవలయు.' (ib. ii. 47.) in combat, in inter-marriage, and in friendship equality is wanted; or, there should be a similarity. 'ఔగాములరయవలయు.' (ib. iv. 431.) you should look to the chances of gain or loss, of success or failure. వలె, వలెను, వలసినది or వలయును are added as auxiliaries, to the Root in the Infinitive of any verb; to give the idea of obligation or necessity; నేను ఇమటికి పోవలెను I must go home. నీవు ఇక్కడికి రావలెను you must come here, you should come here, I hope you will come here. తమదయ రావలెను మా దరిద్రము తీరవలెను I hope your favour will come and that my poverty will be removed. ఆయన రేపో ఎల్లుండో రావలెను he must be here tomorrow or the next day, i.e., we expect him here tomorrow or the next day. వాడు దానితమ్ముడుగా ఉండవలెను I suppose he must be her brother. నాకు ఆ పుస్తకము కావలెను I want that book. వాణ్ని చంపియుండవలెను they must have killed him. నీకు అట్లురావలెను this serves you right. నీవు సందేహింపవలసినదిలేదు you need not doubt it, there is no occasion to doubt it. వాణ్ని పిలువవలెనని అక్కడికి వెళ్లితిని I went there to call him. ఈ పని చేయవలెనని పోవుచుండగా as I was going there to do this. జగడమాడవలెనని వస్తివా did you come on purpose (or wanting) to quarrel? వలసి (the past p|| of వలయు.) ఇవ్వవలసి యిస్తిని I paid it, because I had to. 'నిశాచరునుద్యోగంబుచూచుకొనవలసి.' Swa. iv. 163. అట్లు చేయవలసివచ్చును it will become necessary to do so. వలసిన (past part of వలయు) is used as an affix (similar to the Latin-ibilis or endus). చెల్లింపవలసిన సొమ్ము money due, the sum payable. 'వ;సినసంపదల్ గలుగవా.' T. ii. 34. టీ వలసిన, కావలసినటువంటి. వలసె or వలసెను (the past tense of వలయు) it became necessary, or requisite. వానితో చెప్పవలసె I was obliged to tell him. 'వినిపింపరాని కార్యము వినిపింపగవలసె.' Swa. iv. 176. The negative aorist of this, వలవదు, వలదు, See under వలదు.

(p. 1275) santariñcu san-tarinṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To equalise, సరిపరుచు. To earn, get, acquire, సంపాదించు, గడించు. To cause to acquire, కలిగించు. To write, వ్రాయు, రచించు. To protect, support, rear, భరించు, సంరక్షించు. 'చక్కదనమెల్లముల్లెగాసంతరించి.' H. i. 254. ఆమె నన్ను సాకి సంతరించినది she brought me up and took care of me.

(p. 1300) samamu samamu. [Skt.] adj. Like, alike, similar, same, equal, even, smooth, level. Impartial, free from passion, equable. సమానమైన, తుల్యమైన, సదృశమైన, అవిషమమైన, బేసికాని, మిట్టపల్లములేకుండా ఉండే. సమసంఖ్య a round or even sum. సమదృష్టిగలవాడు one who is equitable or impartial. n. Equality, evenness, తుల్యత, అవిషమత. A year, సంవత్సరము. 'అభూపతియేకషష్టిసమముల్ పూర్ణేందుబింబాస్యతోన్.' Vish. vi. 76. సమము చేయు samamu-chēyu. v. a. To level or equalise. మిట్ట పల్లములేక సరుదు, ఈడుచేయు. సమచతురస్రము sama-chatur-asramu. adj. Four square. చచ్చాకమైన. సమత or సమత్వము samata. n. Equality, similarity, sameness. తుల్యత, సమదర్శి sama-darṣi. n. One who regards all things alike, an impartial man. సర్వభూతములను సమముగా చూచువాడు. సమదృష్టి sama-dṛishṭi. n. An impartial attitude, considering all things alike. సర్వభూతములను సమముగా చూచుచూపు. సమపదము sama-padamu. n. Standing with the two legs on the same line, as an archer. విలుకాడు రెండుకాళ్లతో సమముగా నిలుచుట. సమరసము sama-rasamu. n. Equality, uniformity, Familiarity, fellowship. Kindness, amicableness, సమానరాగగము, సమాధానము. వారిప్పుడు సమరసముగా నున్నారు they are now on good terms. సమవర్తి sama-varti. n. One who treats all alike. అంతట సమముగా వర్తించువాడు. A name of Yama the King of Hell.యముడు. P. iv. 398. సమసుప్తి sama-supti. n. Lit. an equal or universal sleep. The end of a Kalpa or Age; the destruction of the world, యుగాంతము. 'సమసుప్తిబొందించిజగముల ద్రుంచి.' BD. v. 27. సమాంశములు sam-āmṣamulu. n. plu. Equality of parts, equal proportions, తుల్యభాగములు. సముడు samuḍu. n. He who resembles, సదృశుడు.

'సరికాని వారితో సరసమాడెడువాని.' (Kālahas. §. 66.) he who takes liberties with such as are not his equals. సరికానిపని improper behaviour or conduct. సరికిసరి tit for tat. గోధుములు బియ్యానికి గోధుములు బియ్యానికి సరికిసరి ఇస్తారు they barter wheat for an equal quantity of rice.సరికిసరి చేసినాడు he repaid them according to what they had done. సరి. adj. Equal, like. సమము, ఈడైన. Just, right, proper, fit, correct, suitable, యుక్తమైన, తగిన, Corresponding to. Even, level, not odd, మిట్టపల్లములులేని. Ended, finished, సమాప్తము. అతనికి సరిలేడు he has no equal. రాత్రి అయినా సరే పగలు అయినా సరే be it day or be it night. ఇది సరికాదు this is not right. ఈ ఉత్సవము నేటితో సరి this feast is finished with this day. adv. Equally. సమానముగా, సరిగా. Fully, పూర్ణముగా. 'జలధి తోజలధియు సరిబోరుకరణి.' DRY. 2224. 'సరిబల్కుమని యదల్చు.' T. iii. 143. సరి (interj.) Well! Yes! very well! very good! Aha! Aha! Oh! బాగాయె; అంగీకారార్థము. సరికట్టు sari-kaṭṭu. v. n. To be equal or similar. దృష్టాంమగు. v. a. To attempt, యత్నించు. See సరిపడు below. సరికడచు sari-kaḍaṭsu. v. n. To exceed, excel. ముందుమించు, మీరు, అతిక్రమించు. సరిగా sari-gā. adv. Quits (at dice or games), సమానమైన జయములు. సరిగొను sari-gonu. v. a. To resemble. సమానమగు. To kill, destroy. చంపు, రూపుమాపు. M. VII. iv. 277. సీ సరియన్న విరిపొన్న సరిగొన్నగరిమచేగంభీ రమగునాభిగాంచుదాని.' T. iv. 62. సరిచేయు ari-chēyu. v. a. To arrange or put in order, to put straight, to level or make even. To complete, end or finish. To equalize, క్రమపరచు, వంకర లేకుండా చేయు, మిట్టపల్లములు లేకుండా చేయు, ముగించు, సమానము చేయు. To ruin, నాశముచేయు, సరిచూచు sari-ṭsūṭsu. v. a. To compare, review, collate. సంప్రతించు, సరిగానుండజూచు. సరితూగు sari-tūgu. v. a. To counterbalance, to be equal in weight, to be equal. సమానమగు. సరిపడు, సరితాకు or సరికట్టు sari-paḍu. v. n. A. vi. 90. నోటికి సరిపోయినట్టు మాట్లాడినాడు he said everything that came to his tongue. అవి నీకు సరిపోతవవి these will suit you. నీవు తిట్టినదానికిని నేను కొట్టినదానికని సరిపోయినవి the blows I have given are a fair payment for your abuse. ఆ బియ్యము ఆ తపేలాకు సరిపోయినవి the rice was just enough to fill the vessel. సరిపొద్దు or సరిప్రొద్దు sari-poddu. n. Midnight, అర్థరాత్రి. P. iii. 45. సరిబిత్తరము sari-bittaramu. n. A kind of wrestling. మల్ల బంధవిశేషము. సరిబేసులు sari-bēsulu. n. A kind of game played by boys, పిల్లకాయలు ఆడే ఒక ఆట. 'గుళ్లుదాగుడుముచ్చిళ్లు గోలిపెట్టెలేలపాటలు, సరిబేసు లీలకూతలాదిగాశైశవక్రీడలాడి.' Vish. vii. 212. సరియగు sari-y-agu. v. n. To become equal, సమానమగు, to be destroyed, నశించు. సరియైన sari-y-aina. adj. Equal, like; just, right, proper, fit. Corresponding to. Level, straight; even, not odd. సమమైన, యుక్తమైన, తగిన, నూటియైన, ఈడైన, అవిషయమైన, మిట్టపల్లములు లేని. సరిలేని sari-lēni. adj. Matchless, unequalled. అసమానమైన. సరివచ్చు sari-vatstsu. v. n. To match, be alike, సమానమగు. సరిసమానము sari-samānamu. (a pleonasm.) n. Equality. సమము, తనకు సరిసమానము ఎవరులేరనుకొనుచున్నాడు he imagines that he has no equal. సరేగదా sarē-gadā. interj. Very well!
