Half; a moiety. సగము. అర్ధచంద్రుడు or అర్ధేందువు the crescent moon, a half moon. అర్థనారీశ్వరుడు the god Siva, in his form of half man and half woman. అర్థరాత్రి midnight. అర్ధాంగీకారము half permission, doubtful consent. అర్ధాక్షరము a half letter. Motion, course. మార్గము, అర్ధవత్సరము, సూర్యుని దక్షిణోత్తరగతి. ఉత్తరాయనము or ఉత్తరాయణము the sun's course for six months in the northern constellations of the zodiac. దక్షిణాయనము the sun's course for six months in the southern constellations of the zodiac. అయనకాలము the interval between the equinoxes. ఆయన భాగము the arc between the vernal equinoctial point and the beginning of the fixed zodiac or first point in Aries. ఆయన వలనము deviation of the ecliptic. అయనవృత్తము the ecliptic.

(p. 709) pabbamu pabbamu. [Tel.] n. A feast. పండుగ. A feast at particular periods of the year such as the equinoxes, &c. when offerings are made by the Hindus to the manes of their ancestor. సంక్రాంత్యాదులు. A festival, ఉత్సవము. Hospitality to guests, ఆతిథ్యము.

(p. 1194) viṣavamu or విషువత్తు vishuvamu. [Skt.] n. The equinox. రాత్రియును దినమును సమమైనకాలము. విషువచ్ఛాయ vishu-vachchāya. n. The shadow of the gnomon at noon, when the sun is in the equinoctial point.
