(F.B.I.) కుక్కతులసి kukka-tulasi. n. The white basil: (Ainslie. ii. 91.) ocymum album, as distinguished from the proper Tulasi called ocymum sanctum. కుక్కపాల kukka-pāla. n. A plant from the fibrous leaves of which bow strings, &c. are made. Aletris hyacinthoides; Sansevicra zeylanica. (Roxb.) చాగచెట్టు. A wild species of the పాలచెట్టు, Periplocā Tunicata:. అజగంధీ, వటపత్రిక. కుక్కముల్లు kukka-mullu. n. An eruption like measles, miliary eruption or nettle rash. కుక్కమూతి పిందె kukka-mūti-pinde. A blasted fruit. A proverb says చెట్టుచెడేకాలానికి కుక్కమూతి పిందెలు పట్టుతవి producing blasted fruit is a mark that the tree will never thrive again. Metaphorically, wild behaviour portends ruin. కుక్కవావింట kukka-vāvinṭa. n. A plant called the Dog Mustard, Cleome viscosa. శ్వాసబర్బర.

(p. 350) gajji gajji. [Tel.] n. The itch, or mange: any cutaneous eruption. తీటకరుపు. గజ్జిపట్టు gajji-paṭṭu. n. To have the itch. గజ్జిపట్టిన infested with itch or mange. వానికి గజ్జిపట్టినది he has the itch. గజ్జిరాయి gajji-rāyi. n. Yellow ochre: the same as బొంతరాయి.

(p. 573) tvakku or త్వచము tvakku. [Skt.] n. Skin. తోలు. Rind, bark, husk, coat. చెట్టుపట్ట, నార. త్వక్పుష్పము a cutaneous eruption, a blotch, a scab.

(p. 740) pāma pāma. [Skt.] n. A cutaneous eruption, herpes, scab or itch. గజ్జి, పామనుడు pāmanuḍu. n. One who is scabby or itchy. గజ్జికలవాడు.

(p. 797) pēlu or ప్రేలు pēlu. [Tel.] v. n. To swell out through heat, సెగచేత ఉబుకు. To break out in prickly heat, or any eruption. To be fried, to be parched. To gabble, brag, chatter, to talk nonsense. To fret. జ్వరము పేలిపడకాయుచున్నది the fever is burning hot. చిటచిటప్రేలు to crackle in roasting. 'వేల్పులెల్ల చిటచిటబ్రేలుచు చటచటబాసి.' BD. iv. 621. వానిముఖము చిటచిట పేలుచున్నది he is very peevish, వాని ముఖము ధుమధుమలాడుచున్నది. ప్రేలడము tattling. పేల్చు or పేలుచు pēlṭsu. To fry. Metaphorically, to grieve. A. v. 56. పేల్పుచేప a fried fish పేలరితనము pēlari-tanamu. n. Talkativeness. నదురు బోతుతనము.

(p. 800) poṅgu pongu. [Tel.] v. n. To effervesce; to boil or bubble up, overflow, boil over. To swell. To forment. To exult, to be overjoyed, elated, to be in ecstasy. సంతోషించు. To become proud, గర్వించు. పొంగి బోర్లపడు to boil over with pride or delight. ఎండచేత కండ్లు పొంగినవి the eyes are inflamed by the glare. పొంగునీళ్లు boiling water. పొంగు pongu. n. Effervescence, boiling or bubbling up, overflowing. Excess of joy. సంతోషము. Pride, గర్వము. Eruption of the measles. Boiling water in which rice is to be cooked, ఎసరుకాగిననీళ్లు, చిట్టుడుకునీళ్లు. ఎసరుపొంగి పోతున్నది the water is boiling over. నీ పొంగుకుంగ may your pride perish. ఇదియేమి చూచుకొన్న పొంగు on what do you pride yourself? పొంగులక్షణము symptoms of an eruption of measles. పొంగుప్రాలు pongu-prālu. n. A sort of grain. పొంగలించు pongalinṭsu. v. n. To stand erect; to be proud, నిక్కు. పొంగారు pong-āru. (పొంగు+ఆరు.) v. n. To be full, నిండారు., To swell out, ఉబుకు. To rejoice, సంతోషించు. To excel, to be proud, అతిశయించు, విజృంభించు, నిక్కు 'తూర్యములపటుధ్వాన మడరినింగి పొంగారె నత్యంత నిశ్చలంబులయ్యె సైనికినికరంబులద్భుతముగ.' M. VIII. iii. 273. పొంగించు ponginṭsu. To boil. To delight, to please much. చేరెడుబియ్యము పొంగించుకొనినాడు he boiled a handful of rice.

(p. 805) poḍa poḍa. [Tel.] n. Appearance, figure, shape. రూపు, చూపు. A mole, speck, mark, a scruff or eruption on the skin. Variegated colour. పొడలపురుగు a spotted worm or serpent. పొడకట్టు poḍa-kaṭṭu. v. n. To make an appearance, to seem, appear, be visible, కనబడు, ప్రత్యక్షమగు, తోచు. నాకు ఆలాగు పొడకట్టినది it struck me so. పొడగను, పొడగాంచు or పొడచూచు poḍa-ganu. To see, view, behold. చూచు. 'పుడమిభర్తకుపండు పొడగాన్పుజేసి, కడుభక్తితోదాని క్రమమెల్లదెలుప.' Sārang. D. v. SVI. పది దినాలుగా వాని పొడ కానము I have not set my eyes upon him these ten days. పొడగానుపు poḍa-gānupu. n. Seeing, looking. పొడగనుట, దర్శనము. పొడచూపు or పొడపడు poḍa-ṭsūpu. v. n. To appear, to become visible, to be seen. కనబడు, ప్రత్యక్షమగు. పొడతామర poḍa-tāmara. n. White leprosy, మండలా కారకుష్ఠము. పొడతెంచు poda-tanṭsu. v. n. To be born, to rise. ఉదయించు, పుట్టు. పొడనీడ poḍa-nīḍa. n. Speckled shade. పొడపత్రి poḍa-patri. n. A certain drug, Asclepias vomitoria (kœnig,) Vomiting Swallow-wort (Ainslie,) which is very efficacious in cases of scorpion stings. పొడయెండ poḍa-y-enḍo. n.
