(p. 44) addira or అదిర addira. [Tel. అది+ర] Interj. What a wonder! Wonderful! అద్దిరపాటున addirapāṭuna. adv. Suddenly, unexpectedly. అదాటున. 'అనితలపోయువాని పొలుపద్దిరపాటున జూచి విస్మయంబనుపమలీల దొట్టిన.' S. iii. 543. అద్దిరయ్య interj. Bravo! excellent! శాబాసు. 'చెప్పక చెప్పెడు నద్దిరయ్యమా కెరుగదరం బెమీమహిమ.' Swa. i. 35.

(p. 55) anuttamamu an-uttamamu. [Skt.] adj. Most excellent, very superior. మిక్కిలి శ్రేష్ఠమైన.

(p. 66) apraśastamu a-praṣastamu. [Skt.] adj. Not excellent, worthless, contemptible, not public, secret, hidden. అప్రసిద్ధమైన, రహస్యమైన, ఎవరునెరుగని.

(p. 69) abhinavamu abbi-navamu. [Skt.] adj. New, modern నూతనమైన, కొత్త. అభినవకాళిదాసుడు. 'The modern Kālidāsa.' This is equivalent to 'The Milton of our days' or, 'a Byron, a Moore:' merely denoting an excellent poet.

(p. 81) arundhati arundhati. [Skt.] n. The wife of the sage Vasishtha, celebrated for her virtue వసిష్ఠుని భార్య. A star in the Pleiades. A marriage ceremonies అరుంధతి is invoked by the bridegroom as a pattern of conjugal excellence and the star in the Pleiades which represents the wife of Vasishtha is pointed out to the bridal pair.

(p. 102) asalu asalu. [H.] adj. Original, principal, excellent, real, genuine, legitimate. మొదటిదైన, ముఖ్యమైన, స్వచ్ఛమైన, సంకరముకాని. అసలుదావా the original complaint. అసలు వాది the original complainant. అసలు బేరీజు the original rents or account. అసలు n. The principal, as opposed to the interest మూలధనము Plu. అసళ్లు originals. అసళ్లు ఉంచుకొని నకళ్లు ఇచ్చినాడు he retained the originals and gave the copies. Also, origin, stock in trade.

(p. 133) indruḍu indruḍu. [Skt.] n. Indra, the god of the sky corresponding to the Roman Jupiter armed with thunder-bolts and noted for his amours. In composition the word denotes excellence. గజేంద్రము or గజేంద్రుడు a noble elephant.

(p. 154) uttama ut-tama. [Skt.] n. An excellent good woman.

(p. 154) uttamamu ut-tamamu. [Skt.] adj. Excellent. best, virtuous, chief, principal, first. ఉత్తమపురుషము (in gram. lit. ఉత్తమ = last), the first person. ఉత్తమర్ణుడు ut-tamarnuṇu. [Skt. ఉత్తమ+ఋణము] n. A creditor. అప్పిచ్చినవాడు. ఉత్తమాంగము ut-tam-āngamu. [Skt. అంగము] n. The principal member, i.e., the head. ఉత్తముడు ut-tamuḍu. A most excellent man. ఉత్తమోత్తమము ut-tamōt-tamamu [Skt. ఉత్తమ+ఉత్తమ] adj. Superlative, best, excellent.

(p. 169) ulaca ulaṭsa. [Tel.] n. An excellent sort of fish, called Hilsa in Hindustani. A. ii. 62.

(p. 178) ṛṣabhamu ṛishabhamu. [Skt.] n. A bull. adj. excellent (in certain Samāsams or compounds.)

(p. 236) kaḍivōvu kaḍi-vōvu. [Tel. కడి+పోవు.] v. i. To be spoiled చెడిపోవు. కడివోని excellent, unspoiled. చెడని. P. iv. 225.

(p. 243) kannāku kannāku. [Tel. కన్ను+ఆకు.] n. The spoke of a spinning wheel, which, being the last put in, keeps the rest all tight. The outside leaf in a bundle of betal leaves. The finishing bit or corner stone; that which keeps all the rest right. A noble or excellent person. రక్షకుడు; ముఖ్యుడు, అగ్రేసరుడు. M. VI. i. 92.

(p. 260) kalpamu kalpamu. [Skt.] n. An age. A religious rule. A code or description of religious rites. A legend or pious tale. Thus; వరలక్ష్మీవ్రతకల్పము the legend or book regarding this observance బ్రహ్మకల్పము an age of Brahma equal to many millions of years. A series of publications as of a journal; as ప్రథమకల్పము first series, ద్వితీయకల్పము second series, &c. adj. That which equivalent to or that which is almost the same as. సమానమైనది. A word (like ish, in blackish, whitish) denoting similarity. ద్వీపకల్పము a peninsula. కరకల్పము like a hand. తటిత్కల్పమైన resembling lighting కల్పాంతము kalp-āntamu. n. The destruction of the world. The end of time. ప్రళయము. A Brahma's day. బ్రహ్మదినము. కల్పుడు kalpuṭn. One who is similar to, or equal to. విద్వత్కల్పుడు almost a scholar. అగ్నికల్పుడు he who is similar (in excellence) to the god of fire. M. XIII. ii. 332.

(p. 346) gaṅgi gangi. [Tel.] adj. Venerable. పూజ్యము. (భాగ. ix.) గంగిగోవు a cow of an excellent breed, an excellent cow. 'గంగిగోవుపఅలు గంటెడైననుచాలు, కడవెడైన నేమి ఖరముపాలు; భక్తికలుగుకూడు పట్టెడైనను చాలు.' Vēma. i. 103.
