(p. 138) iruku iruku. [Tel.] n. A strait, difficulty, distress, narrowness. Closeness, contact. adj. Narrow, tight, squeezing. ఇరుకు v. n. To be squeezed, stuck in. ఇరుకటము or ఇరుకాటము irukaṭamu. n. A narrow place. ఇరుకుచోటు. ఇరుకుమాను iruku mānu. n. Posts set in a gate-way (i.e., పంగలకర్ర). to exclude cattle but admit men; a turnpike. ఇరికించు or ఇరికించుకొను irikinṭsu. v. a. To insert, poke in, stick in. ఇరికికొను or ఇరుక్కొను iriki-konu. v. n. To get in; stick, be caught, be inserted, be entangled.

(p. 316) koṭṭivēyu koṭṭi-vēyu. To strike off, exclude, dismiss, cut off. కొట్టుకొనివచ్చు to be carried towards by wind or water. కొట్టుకొనిపోవు to be blown away, to be carried off. కొట్టుకొను koṭṭu-konu. To beat oneself. (p. 661) nilcu or నిలుచు niluṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To stand. To remain, exist, last, live. continue. To stay, stop, halt. నిలిచిపోవు. To be still or quiet, as a fluid in a vessel. To be firm or steadfast. To bear, be patient, restrain one's feelings. To be repressed, allayed, slackened. వాని మాట నిలిచినది he kept his word. నిలిచికురియదు it does not rain steadily. ఆ బడి నిలిచిపోయినది the school is now closed. పని నిలిచిపోయినది the work has stopped. M. XII. v. 459. నిలుపాటి or నిలువుపాటి long, పొడుగైన. నిలువబెట్టు to set up , erect. నిలువతీయు to set one on his legs. నిలుచుండు or నిల్చుండు niluṭs-unḍu. (నిలిచి+ఉండు.) v. n. To remain standing, to continue to stand. నిలుచుండు. నిలుడుకొ Same as నిలుచుండు. నిల used for నిలువ. నిలబడు, నిలువబడు or నిల్వబడు nila-baḍu. v. n. To stand. నిలుచుండు. To be stopped. అడ్డుపడు. To be set up, ప్రతిష్ఠతమగు. నిలక, నిలకడ, నిలుకడ or నిల్కడ nilaka. n. Standing; steadiness, constancy, firmness. స్థైర్యము. ఈ యేరు నిలక యివ్వదు I cannot keep my footing in the current. కాలు నిలకడచేసికొను to gain a firm footing నిలకడయిన ఉద్యోగము permanent (not acting) employement. నిలుకడగానుండే firm. నిలితము nilitamu. n. Delay: endurance, (Vizag.) నిలువెడుఎత్తు or నిలువుఎత్తు niluveḍu-y-ettu. n. A fathom high, lit: one man's stature. నిలుపు nitupu. v. a. To cause to stand, నిలువబెట్టు. To fix, to set up, to place, to erect, ప్రతిష్ఠించు. To stay, restrain, interrupt, repress, అడ్డగించు. To support, maintain, keep firm, establish, స్థిరపడు. To retain, keep back, reserve, నిలిపిఉంచు. Upright, standing, High, tall. నిలువుచెంబు a cup with upright sides, a mug. నిలువుఅంచనా reckoning upon the standing crop. నిలువుటద్దము niluvu-ṭ-addamu. n. A pier glass, a full length mirror. నిలువుకొలువు or నిలువుజీతము service in which one has to stand up always and is not allowed to sit. నిలుచుండిచేయు సేవ. నిలువుకాళ్లు stilts. నిలవరము, నిలువరము or నిల్వరము nilava-ramu. n. Firmness, steadfastness. The truth, certainity. A deposit, money lodged. adj. True, certain, fixed, firm, stable, sure, స్థిరమైన. నిలవరించు, నిలువరించు or నిల్వరించు nilavarinṭsu. v. n. To stand firmly. చలింపకనిలుచు. v. a. To cause to stand firmly. చలింపకనిలువు. To stop, to cause to halt; to support, to manage, to sustain.

(p. 680) nēnu or ఏను nēnu. [Drav. cf. Tam. నాన్.] n. The pronoun I. నేను పోతిని I went. The Genitive is నా. నాయిల్లు my house. Dative నాకు, to me. Plu. మేము, నేను or ఏము we (excluding the person or persons spoken to) and మనము we (including the person or persons spoken to.)

(p. 881) bāhyamu bāhyamu. [Skt.] adj. Lying outside, that which is excluded, outer, external, public. వెలుపలిది, వెలియైనది. బాహ్యుడు bāhyuḍu. n. One who is outside, an outsider, an outcaste. శ్రుతిబాహ్యులు those who are not allowed to hear the Vedas, excommunicated people.

(p. 902) bailu, bayilu or బయలు bailu. [Tel.] n. An open field, plain, area. మైదానము. The outside, the exterior. The sky, the expanse of heaven. బాహ్యము. 'పండిన చేలెల్ల బయలుగా మేసి.' (HD. i. 398.) they devoured the corn fields and reduced them to a bare plain. బయలాడుమాట a voice uttered (or heard) from heaven. 'ధారుణిబడిబయలు దన్నుచు నేడ్చు.' (BD. iii. 878.) the baby was kicking with its legs upwards. adj. Open, clear. బైలుదేరు, బయిలుదేరు, or బయలుదేరు bailu-dēru. v. n. To come forth, break out; to begin, start, set out; to come to light, result, appear, be discovered; to prove true or false. To be shed, or to burst forth as tears, తానును ఒక మగవాడుగా బైలుదేరినాడు he set out as if he was a big man. గడ్డబైలుదేరినది a boil rose. వెన్న బైలుదేరినప్పుడు కుండ పగిలినది when the butter was coming the churn burst. ఇల్లువిడిచి బైలుదేరగానే on leaving the house. ఆ ప్రాంతములలో దొంగలు బైలుదేరిరి thieves broke out in that neighbourhood. బైలుదేర్చు bailu-dērṭsu. v. a. To bring out, elicit, bring to light, exhibit. బైలుపడు or బైలగు bailu-paḍu. v. n. To fall out, come to light, be disclosed. ఆ మర్మము బైలుపడినది the secret came to light. బైలుపరచు, బయలుపరచు or బైలుపుచ్చు bailu-paraṭsu. v. a. To bring to light, to reveal. బైలువెళ్లు or బయలువెడలు bailu-vellu. v. n. To start. బైళ్లు or బయళ్లు baiḷḷu. n. plu. Plains. బైట or బయట baiṭa. adv. On the outside, on the plain. Out. బైటపడు or బయటపడు baiṭa-paḍu. v. n. To come out, come to light. To become public. బైటపెట్టు or బయటపెట్టు baiṭa-peṭṭu. v. a. To put forward, to reveal, బహిరంగముచేయు, వెల్లడిచేయు. బైటపోవు or బయటికిపోవు baiṭa-pōvu. v. n. To go out. To go to the necessary. బైటఉండు or బయటనుండు baiṭa-unḍu. v. n. To be outside: to be menstruous, (because excluded from the family.) బైటవేయు or బయటవేయు baiṭa-vēyu. v. a. To cast out. To bring to light, to let a secret out. దీన్ని బైటవేస్తే చూడు take care you don't let this be known. బైటి or బయటి baiṭi. adj. Outer, exterior; strange, foreign. బైటిఊళ్లు the circumjacent villages.

(p. 950) manamu manamu. [Tel.] pron. We, (including the person or persons addressed,) as distinguished from మేము which excludes the persons addresed. మనము చూడలేదే neither you nor I saw it.

(p. 1134) varjiñcu varjinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To relinquish, give up, abandon. త్యజించు, విడిచిపెట్టు. 'నిద్రయువర్జించి యడుగులొత్తు.' M. XIII. ii. 304. వర్జనము vrajanamu. n. Quitting, abandonment, shunning, avoiding. విసర్జనము, మానుకొనడము. వర్జనుడు varjanuḍu. n. One who quits, avoids or abandons. విడిచిపెట్టువాడు, మానుకొనువాడు. 'అసూయావర్జనుడై తగు విప్రకోటిసంభావింపన్.' M. XII. ii. 411. వర్జితము varji-lamu. adj. Abandoned, avoided, excepted, excluded. విడిచిపెట్టబడిన, తీసివేయబడిన, త్యజింపబడిన. వర్జితుడు varjituḍu. n. One who is shunned, cut off, abandoned, త్యజింపబడినవాడు. వర్జ్యము or వర్జనీయము varjyamu. adj. That which should be abandoned, avoided, shunned, renounced, given up. విడిచిపెట్టదగిన, త్యజింపదగిన. వర్జ్యము n. A evil hour, an unlucky period of the day. త్యాజ్యము. విడువదగిన దోషయుక్తమైన కాలము.
