(p. 72) abhyasiñcu abhyasinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To excercise, practise, learn, study. అలవాటుచేయు, వాడుకచేయు, నేర్చుకొను. అభ్యసింపజేయు to cause to practise or learn అభ్యసితము abhyasitamu. [Skt.] adj. Practised, exercised, skilled. Learned, expert. అలవాటుపడిన, చెయ్యితిరిగిన, పనుపడిన, నేర్చుకోబడిన. అభ్యసనీయము abhyasanīyamu. n. That can be practised or learned. అభ్యాసము abhyāsamu. n. Practice, exercise, study, use. వాడుక, అలవాటు, అక్షరాభ్యాసము learning the alphabet. అభ్యాసం కూసు విద్య practice makes perfect.

(p. 74) amalu amalu. [H.] Authority, reign, sway, government. An office or post, a public charge. Execution, fulfilment, the period of one ruler's government. ఏలుబడి, దొరతనము, హయాము. అతని అమలులో in his reign or sway. ఆ కలెక్టరు గారి అమలులో in that Collector's days. ఆ తీర్పు అమలులోకి తేబడిన తరువాత after the decision was executed. వాని మీద అమలుచేసినారు they took steps against him, they put in force against him. అమల్దారుడు an Amildar, i.e., one who exercises authority. One who puts government orders into force. A Tahsildar or revenue officer in charge of Taluq.

(p. 218) ōpika ōpika. [Tel.] n. Strength, endurance, patience, toleration. శక్తి, ఓర్పు, సహనము, ఓపికలేని impatient ఓపికపెట్టు to exercise patience, to be patient.

(p. 576) daṇḍemu or దండియము danḍemu. [Tel.] n. A cord line, or pole on which clothes are hung to dry. A kind of gymnastic exercise. దండెములుతీయు to perform a kind of gymnastic exercise, which consists in resting the hands on the ground and moving the body to and fro. కాళ్లు చేతులు నేలను మోపి ముందుకు వెనుకకు ఊగుట. శశాం. iii.

(p. 581) dayyamu dayyamu. [for Skt. దైవము.] n. A deity, a god. దేవుడు, వేలుపు. M. iv. IV. 57. R. ii. 11. Destiny, fate, విధి. A goblin, fiend, demon or evil spirit, పిశాచము. దయ్యముకాదు భూతమే it was not a fiend but a ghost. కొరివిదయ్యము a jack o'lantern, a will of the wisp. వానికి దయ్యముపూనిది he is possessed. దయ్యముపూనినవాడు a domoniac. దయ్యముపట్టు to be possessed. అతనికి దయ్యముపట్టినది a devil has seized him. దయ్యమువదలగొట్టు or దయ్యమునుతోలు to drive out a devil, to exercise. దయ్యపు స్తంభనము a spell to scare away fiends. దయ్యాలపోతు dayyāla-pōtu. n. A wizard or a witch.

(p. 646) nāli nāli. [Tel.] n. A mean work. కుత్సితపు పని. కూలినాలి cooly and other low and uncertain kind of work. adj. Sly. కుత్సితము. Deceitful, వంచకము. Slight, imperceptible, latent, insidious, మండము. నాలి కురువు a latent or indolent ulcer. నాడీ వ్రణము, నారికురుపు. నాలిగాలి or నాలితెమ్మర a zephyr, a slight or imperceptible breeze. మందమైన గాలి. నాలిగ్రహము (Swa. iii. 71.) a star which exercises no influence on human life, దుర్బలమైన గ్రహము. నాలిచూపు a sly look or glance. నాలి చూపు చూచు to glance at or view cunningly. నాలిముచ్చు a traitor or imperceptible foe, a hypocrite. నాలియేడ్పు silent weeping; or, crocodile tears, వంకమపయేడ్పు. నాలిలేని powerless. నాలిభూతము a sly being or a ghost. కుత్సితపురుషుడు, లేక కుత్సితస్త్రీ.

(p. 1197) viharaṇamu vi-haraṇamu. [Skt.] n. Roaming, a ramble, excursion, a walk for pleasure or exercise. విహారము, సంచరించడము, పర్యటనము, పంభ్రమణము. విహరించు vi-harintsu. v.n. To take a walk or airing, to wander, to go about, to go about for pleasure or excercise, to roam, ramble, rove, సందరించు, పర్యటనముచేయు, పరిభ్రమణము చేయు. విహారముచేయు, తిరుగు. విహర్త vi-harta. n. One who takes a walk, a rambler, rover, విహరించువాడు.

(p. 1198) vihāramu vi-hāramu. [Skt.] n. A walk for pleasure or exercise, a tour, trip, ramble, roaming, play, pastime, sport, excursion, వేడుకగాతిరుగుట, సంచారము, భ్రమణము, కేళి, లీల, యాత్ర. A Buddhist monastery, బౌధ్ధాలయము. విహారి or విహారుడు vihāri. n. One who takes a walk for pleasure, సంచరించువాడు. వారు ఉద్యానవనవిహారులై యున్న వేళ while they were walking in the park.
