(p. 32) aṭṭahāsamu aṭṭa-hāsamu. [Skt.] n. Violent, phrenzied laughter. Vehement action, exceeding effort or exertion. Toil, pains, laborious efforts. Pomp. 'అట్టహాసంబున నడరెడు తెరనూరు.' N. ix. 31. నా కూతురిని పంపితేనేగాని కూడదని అట్టహాసము చేస్తాడు he protests violently that his daughter shall go with him. రాజు బహు అట్టహాసముతో బయలుదేరినాడు the king set out with great pomp. అట్టహాసకాడు n. A pompous or ostentatious man.

(p. 55) anudyōgamu an-udyōgamu. [Skt.] n. Want of exertion, inactivity.

(p. 160) udyōgamu udyōgamu. [Skt.] n. An attempt, endeavour, undertaking; enterprise, exertion; activity. యత్నము. a profession, employment, occupation, calling, mission, office or situation; ఉద్యోగము చేయు to excercise an office. ఉద్యోగస్థుడు or ఉద్యోగి udyōgasthuḍu n. An officer, a functionary. ఉద్యోగించు udyōginṭsu. v. t. To undertake, set to do, to turn one's mind to: to apply oneself to యత్నించు.

(p. 172) uvvu uvvu. [Tel.] n. Attempt, exertion, effort. పూనిక, ఉవ్వెత్తు uvv-eṭṭu. adj. All యావతు. 'ఒకల్క మాత్రలోని నువ్వెత్తు గొనరె' M. v. 30. ఉవ్వెత్తుగా uvvettu-gā. Quite easily. (p. 173) ūkiñcu or ఊకు ūkinṭsu. [Tel.] v. n. To shake, agitate or move; to endeavour or make an effort. పూను; to rattle the dice. ఊకు or ఊకువ ūku. n. Effort, exertion. పూనిక, ప్రయత్నము. 'ఒక్కూకువంగదల' (R. v. 6.) moving at a single effort. ఒక్క ఊకువగా at once, all at once. ఒక్క సారిగా. ఊకువగు ūkuvagu. (ఊకువ+అగు) v. n. To try, to undertake. పూను.
