(p. 18) akaṭavikaṭamu akaṭa-vikaṭamu. [Tel.] adj. Adverse, contrary, awkard, inverted, contrariwise. తారుమారైన, విరుద్ధమైన, ప్రతికూలమైన, అకటవికటమైన మాట an incoherent speech, a prevarication, అకటవికటపు మాటలాడుట to shuffle, prevaricate, అకటవికటమైన పని an awkward, confused or troublesome affair.

Necessity, occasion, want, need, desire, అగత్యము. అక్కరతీర్చు to relieve from want. అది నాకక్కరలేదు I do not want it. దీనితో నీకేమి అక్కర what have you to do with this? నీవక్కడికి రావలసిన అక్కరయేమి what business had you to come there? అక్కరకొద్దీ మాట్లాడుట to speak as necessity demands. అది అక్కరకురాదు it will be of no use. వాడికి ఆ పని అక్కరపట్టలేదు he does not care for it. అక్కరకాడు one who is in need. అక్కరగలవాడు; అక్కరగండడు one who has an interest in an affair. శ్రద్ధగలవాడు; అక్కరపడు, అక్కరగొను to feel an interest in a thing. అక్కరకలిగియుండు, అక్కరపాటు a state of necessity. అక్కరపడుట.

(p. 23) agatyamu agatyamu. [Tel.] n. Necessity, need. అవశ్యకత. అగత్యము adj. Urgent, important, needful. అవశ్యమైన, అగత్యములేని unnecessary. అగత్యమైనపని an urgent affair. ఆ మాటనుగురించి నీకేమి అగత్యము what is that to you? అగత్యముగా adv. Urgently, assuredly, positively, by all means. అవశ్యముగా అగత్యముగా రా you must certainly come.

A, an, one: ఒక్క. ఒక కోవందరు a few or some few. కొండొక some, some little, as కొండొకసేపు a little time. ఒకరీతిగా after a manner. ఒక పని నిమిత్తము about a certain affair. Adding the intensive ఏ it gives the sense of only: thus ఒకే యిల్లు, or ఒక యిల్లే only one house. వారు ఒక చెయ్యిగానున్నారు they are hand in hand, leagued together. ఒకనాడును ఒప్పడు he will never assent. ఇది ఒకలాగున ఉన్నది this is after a fashion, i.e., is odd, such as cannot be defined. నాకు ఒక విశముగానున్నది I feel very queer, I am out of sorts. ఒకప్పుడు at one time, once. ఒకవేళ at one time, perhaps. ఒకవేళ అట్లా చేసినా if he ever does so, in case he does so. ఒకింత or ఒక్కింత okinta. (ఒక+ఇంత) n. So much: a little, some trifle, ever so little.

Peculiar, odd, queer, Pretty, curious, Cunning, false, fictitious. కందువమాటలు a quibble: a play upon words. కందువ పద్మము a fairy lily, not a real one. కందువ రాజులు mere pretenders: mock warriors.

Deglegated authority: అతిని మీద కర్తృత్వము ఉంచినారు they made him plenipotentiary, they entrusted the affair to him. అది చేయవలసిన కర్తృత్వము నాయందున్నది the right to do this rests with me.
