(p. 134) icca iṭṭsa. [Tadbh. from Skt. ఇచ్ఛ] n. Inclination, fancy, love. ఇచ్చకము i&&ttod;ṭsakamu. n. Cajolery, wheedling, trickery. ఇచ్చ కాలమారి a rogue, a flatterer. ఇచ్చకుడు iṭṭsakuḍu. n. Flatterer. (A. iv. 48.) ముఖప్రీతిమాటలాడేవాడు. ఇచ్చగించు iṭṭsaginṭsu. v. a. To like, fancy.

(p. 149) uggiñcu ugginṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To weave closely so as to be without any interstices between the threads either of the woof or warp. Also, to flatter. భూషించు.

(p. 166) ubbu ubbu. [Tel.] n. Swelling ఉబ్బడము. సంతోషము. Haughtiness. ఉబ్బు v. n. To swell, be puffed up, to be delighted. ఉబ్బిన swollen or proud. నవ్వి కడుపు ఉబ్బినది he burst with laughter. 'ఉబ్బి చెలరేగి వసుదేవుడుత్సహించె.' (B. X.) he was overjoyed. అది నాకు దొరికినదని వానికి కడుపు ఉబ్బుచున్నది he is vexed at my obtaining this. కడుపుబ్బు suppression of urine, envy, spite, ఉబ్బున haughtily, fiercly. ఉబ్బించు ubbinṭsu. v. t. To inflate, to puff up with joy, to flatter. ఉబ్బు రోగము ubbu-rōgamu. n. Dropsy.

(p. 392) gōpuramu gōpuramu. [Skt.] n. An arch, a dome, a pinnacle. A portal door, a city gate. గవను, వాకిలి. A high pyramidal tower over the gates of a temple. A steeple. (Figuratively) Elysium. స్వర్గము. R. i. 151. గోపురము (in Telugu for మాపురము) is also the hump on a bullock. వాడు ఊరక నన్ను గోపురముమీద ఎత్తిపెట్టినాడు he flattered me grossly.

(p. 803) pogaḍu or పొపడు pogaḍu. [Tel.] To praise, laud, applaud. To compliment. flatter. పొగడిక, పొగడు or పొగడికోలు pogaḍika. n. Praise. స్తోత్రము. The act of praising. స్తుతించుట. పొగడిక or పొగడ్త pogaḍita. n. The act of praising, పొగడుట. Praise, స్తుతి. Fame, కీర్తి. పొగడ్తపడు pogaḍta-paḍu. v. n. To be praised, స్తుతింపబడు.

(p. 849) priyamu priyamu. [Skt.] adj. Dear, beloved, desired. ఇష్టమైన. Dear or high, in price. ప్రియవచనములు చెప్పి దాన్ని తీసికొని వచ్చినాను by using fair words I brought her. n. Love. desire, affection, friendship, ప్రేమ. Joy, సంతోషము. ప్రియములాడు to be kind, to speak kindly. కరణాలకు సలాములు కాపులకు ప్రియము చెప్పవలెను give my respects to the clerks and kind regard to the farmers; (as in English give my love to, &c.) ప్రియకము priya-kamu. n. A tree called Nauclea cadamba. కదంబవృక్షము. ప్రియత priyata. n. Friendship, love, స్నేహము, ప్రేమ. ప్రియపడు or ప్రియంపడు priya-paḍu. v. n. To like, to be pleased. ఇష్టపడు. ప్రియవాది or ప్రియంపదుడు priya-vādi. n. A fair speaker, one who speaks what is pleasing, a flatterer. హితమును చెప్పేవాడు, ఇచ్చకము లాడువాడు. ప్రియాళువు priyāḷuvu. n. A tree called మొరలిచెట్టు. ప్రియుడు priyuḍu. n. A lover, a husband, a friend. ఇష్టమైనవాడు, పెనిమిటి. ప్రియ priya. n. A beloved woman. ప్రియురాలు.

(p. 849) prīti prīti. [Skt.] n. Joy, pleasure, delight, happiness, love, affection, regard. సంతోషము, స్నేహము. The name of the wife of Manmadha, మన్మధునిభార్య. దేవునికి ప్రీతిగా చేసిరి they did it in honour of the god, for the purpose of conciliating the god. ముఖప్రీతిమాటలు feigned or flattering words. ఆచార్యులవారికి ప్రీతిగా ఈ గ్రామము నిచ్చినారు they bestowed this village on him as a compliment. తల్లికి ప్రీతిగా ఈ దానము చేసినాడు he gave this in honour of his mother. శనిప్రీతిచేసినాడు he did this to avert the evil influence of Saturn. విష్ణుప్రీతిభూమి lands consecrated to Vishṇu. ప్రీతిదత్తము prīti-dattamu. n. A dowry given to a bride by her father-in-law or mother-in-law. ప్రీతుడు prītuḍu. n. One who is pleased or satisfied, ప్రీతినొందినవాడు.

(p. 890) buzjagiñcu buḍzḍzaginṭsu. [Tel.] v. a. To caress, or fondle. To pacify, console, calm, lull. To cajole, wheedle, persuade, ఉపలాలించు. బు౛్జగింపు. బు౛్జవము, బు౛్జగింత or బు౛్జగము buḍzzagimpu. n. Flattering, soothing, consolation. సాంత్వనము, ఓదార్పు. బు౛్జగింపుమాట a consoling or flattering word, సాంత్వనవాక్కు. (p. 996) mukhamu mukhamu. [Skt.] n. The mouth, నోరు. The face, countenance, మొగము. The commencement, ఆరంభము. The front, ముందటిభాగము. The external appearance, the look of the face, ముఖవిలాసము. నిశాముఖము nightfall, evening. సేనాముఖము the front of the army. నఖముఖములు the points of the nails. ముఖమిచ్చు to indulge. అతడు వారితో ముఖమిచ్చి మాట్లాడలేదు he did not speak with them as a friend. 'బల్దూరంబైన శ్మశానవాటి ముఖమాలోకింపగన్.' Bilh. iii. 25. అధోముఖుడుగానుండినాడు he was hanging with his head down. ఆ దివిటీని అధోముఖముగాపట్టినాడు he held the torch with the flaming end downwards. 'అనుఘకథాముఖంబున హితాహిత బోధమొనర్తురింపుగా.' Mand. i. 8. టీ కాథా ముఖంబున by means of a story, కథచేతను అర్ధముఖము the profile or half face. తమరు రామునిముఖముచూచి నన్ను రక్షింపవలసినది I pray that for the sake of Rama you will relieve me. పడమటిముఖముగా towards the west. పడమటిముఖముగా నుండే యిల్లు a house facing the west. ఆడదానిముఖమెరుగనివాడు a youth that as yet knows not the face of a woman, i.e., entirely chaste. అందరును ఏకముఖముగా నుండలేదుగనుక as they were not unanimous or were not all of one mind. 'బాణకృపాణముఖాస్త్ర శస్త్రములు,' M. By means of, through, ద్వారా. నా తమ్ముని ముఖాంతరముగా పంపించినాను I sent it by my brother. ముఖాముఖి mukhā-mukhi. adv. Face to face. ఎదురెదురుగా. 'వినుముఖాముఖిబల్కెద.' T. iii. 84. ముఖుడు mukhudu. n. A word used in compounds, thus అధోముఖుడై hanging with his face down. సుముఖుడుగా మాట్లాడినాడు he spoke graciously. దుర్ముఖుడైయుండినాడు he was cross. పరాఙ్ముఖుడైయుండెను he turned his face away.
