(p. 52) anivāritamu a-nivāritamu. [Skt.] adj. Unchecked, unforbidden, unimpeded. అడ్డము లేని, ఆటంకములేని, అనివార్యము a-nivāryamu. [Skt.] adj. Unavoidable. అపరిహార్యమైన, పోగొట్టకూడని.

(p. 173) ūgu or ఊగులాడు or ఊగాడు ūgu. [Tel.] v. n. To be agitated or shaken, to swing, to wag, roll. ఊగించు ūginṭsu (causal of ఊగు) v. a. To shake, to move, to swing or rock. ఊగులాట ūgul-aṭa. (ఊగులు+ఆట) n. Swinging: tottering. ఊచు ūṭsu. [Tel. causal of ఊగు] v. a. To swing, cause, to swing, to wag or shake, rock, nod. ఊగజేయు. చెయ్యి ఊచు to shake or wave (the hand in forbidding) or to say no, to forbid by the hand.

(p. 207) oṭṭu oṭṭu. [Tel.] n. An oath శపథము. A penalty, curse, ban, interdiction నిరోధము. నిద్రపట్టితే ఒట్టు a curse on me if I slept! ఆ దారి చూపు, నేను పోకపోతే ఒట్టు shew me the way and it shall be my fault if I do not go. See ఆన. ఒట్టుపెట్టుకొను oṭṭu-peṭṭu-konu. v. i. To take an oath. ఒట్టుపెట్టు oṭṭu-peṭṭu. v. i. to adjure, to impose a vow or solemn promise. T. ii. 98. To ban or forbid by a curse. ఒట్టువిడుచు to remove an oath or interdiction ఆనవిడుచు.

(p. 270) kādanu kādanu. [Tel. కాదు+అను.] v. a. To deny, refuse, reject, forbid to do. To disapprove; to say it is not right. See కాదు.

(p. 661) nivāriñcu ni-vārinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To do away with, cure, avert, dissipate; to put a stop to, dispel, remove, rescue; to appease, satisfy. To prevent ill luck by sprinkling water, &c. To forbid, bar, debar, arrest. నివారణచేయు, అడ్డగించు. నివారణము ni-vāraṇamu. n. Prevention. అడ్డగింత. Doing away with, removing, curing, deliverance, termination. నివారితము ni-vāritamu. adj. (p. 829) pratiṣēdhamu prati-shēdhamu. [Skt.] n. A prohibition, forbidding. అడ్డగింత. ప్రతిషేధించు prati-shēdinṭsu. v. a. To forbid, prohibit. అడ్డగించు.

(p. 831) pratyākhyātamu praty-ākhyātamu [Skt.] adj. Prohibited, forbidden, denied, refused. Removed, set aside. Discouraged, నిరాకృతము. ప్రత్యాఖ్యాతుండయ్యె he was discouraged or refused. ప్రత్యాఖ్యానము praty-ākhyānamu. n. Rejection, refutation, disallowance, disregard, denial, refusal. నిరసనము, కూడదనడము.

(p. 833) pradōṣamu pra-dōshamu. [Skt.] n. Evening; the first part of the night. The evening of a particular lunar day, in which the recital of the Vedas is forbidden. దాత్య్రారంభము. A fault, transgression, sin, దోషము.

(p. 1137) valadu or వద్దు valadu. [Tel. negative aorist of the verb వలయు.] v. Ought not, must not, do not. అట్లు ఉండవలదా or ఉండవద్దా should it not be so, ought it not to be so? నాకు వలదు or నాకు వద్దు I do not want it. అట్లు వద్దండి I pray you not to do so. అట్లలు చెప్పవలదు do not say so. నేను రావలదా am I not to come? ఈ రూకలు ఇయ్యవలదా is not this money to be paid? నాతో చెప్పవలదా should you not tell me? నన్ను వలదన (i.e., వద్దని చెప్పడమునకు) నీకు న్యాయముకాదు it is not right that you should forbid me? 'వలదుమీరలిచట వాగ్వాదమొనరింప' it is not right for you to begin a quarrel.

(p. 1156) vāriñcu vārinṭsu. [Skt.] v. a. To do away, drive away, warn off or ward off, avert. To guard, defend, prevent, clude, or oppose. To dissuade, forbid. నివారించు, అడ్డగించు, ప్రతిషేధించు. 'దమయంతిని వేశంబు ప్రవేశించునప్పుడు నిన్నెవ్వరువారింపనోపరనిన.' M. III. ii. 38.
