(p. 375) guṇamu guṇamu. [Skt.] n. A quality, property, virtue, disposition, temper, character, or attribute. Tendency, effect, purpose, use. A symptom as of disease. వానికి గుణమువచ్చినది he is now come to his senses. నీలగుణము blackness. మంచి గుణము goodness, good temper. మోహగుణము the passion of lust. వానికి గుణముగానున్నది he is better, he has recovered. పది రూపాయలుయిస్తే గుణమే if he gives ten rupees so much the better. అందువల్ల యేమిగుణము what is the use of it? వానితో మాట్లాడితే గుణము లేదు there is no good in speaking to him. పది గుణములుగల or గడియకు ఒక గుణముగల freakish, changeable, whimsical వాంతిభ్రాంతిగుణము an attack or symptoms of cholera. The three Gunas are Rajah (passion) Tamah foulness: and Satvam (Truth). Added to a numeral, thus ద్విగుణము twice as much or two-fold. త్రిగుణము thrice as much, or three-fold. గుణము n. A cord, a string. త్రాడు. A bow string. అల్లెత్రాడు. గుణధ్వని the sound of the bowstring. గుణపడు guṇa-paḍu. v. n. To recover, improve, ameliorate. గుణమగు guṇa-m-agu. v. n. 'గుణగుణంబులరీతి కూడిమాడి' (Paidimarri. iv. 214.) united as closely as goodness and the good, as the virtuous and virtue. అధికగుణుడు highly distinguished. గుణించు or గుణియించు guṇinṭsu. v. a. Also, a baby word for the nipple, breast, or milk. adj. Old, పాతయైన. Dirty, unclean, not fresh. ఇంటిపాచిపని కాలేదు the cleaning of the house is not done. పాచిచేయు or పాచితీయు to sweep and wash a house, to clean a house. పాచితీగె pāchi-tīge. n. Little, mean. పులుమానిసి a little or low man. పులుమ్రాను pulu-mrānu. n. A tree which belongs to the family of the Palms. తాటిచెట్టు మొదలైన తృణద్రుమము. పులుకాసిపురుగు pulu-kāsi-purugu. n. An insect with green wings, పచ్చరెక్కపురుగు. A low person, అల్పుడు. హరిశ్చ. ii. పులుకాసిపులుగు pulu-kāsi-pulugu. n. A parrot. (p. 775) pullu or పులు pullu. [Tel.] n. Grass: foulness in precious stones. గడ్డి, రత్నాదుల మాలిన్యము. adj. Little, small, అల్పము. పుల్లంటురాయి pull-anṭu-rayi. n. A sapphire, ఇంద్రనీలము. పుల్లిరుసు or పులిరుసు pull-irusu. n. The little wheel over which the bottom rope of a water-lift (కపిల) runs to upset the bucket when it reaches the top. పుల్లుడి pull-uḍi. (పుల్లు+ఉడి.) n. Poor land, land productive only at intervals. ఒకానొక సంవత్సరము సెద్యానకు పనికివచ్చునేల. పుల్లరి pull-arti. (పుల్లు+అరి.) n. Tax, a tax on pasture lands. Also, a tax levied on a fishery, or a head-tax on cattle. పుల్లురుకుపాము pull-uruka-pamu. n. A sort of snake which springs out of grass.

(p. 955) mayila , మైల or మకీల mayila. [Tel.] n. Dirt, foulness, uncleanness, actual or ceremonial impurity, dirty clothes. మురికి. అశుచి, కట్టివిడిచిన గుడ్డలు. చాకలవాడు ఇంకా మయిల యెత్తుకొనిపోలేదు the washerman has not yet taken away the dirty clothes. వారియింట్లో మయిలవచ్చినది their house has been defiled. adj. Dirty, foul, unclean, impure. మురికిగానుండే, అశుచియైన.

Dirty, unclean. మైలవస్త్రములు dirty clothes. మైలావు or మయిలఆవు a cow of a grizzled colour. పొగచాయగలఆవు. మడి మైల clean and dirty, foul and fair. మైలక్రోవి maila-krōvi. n. A kind of musical instrument, మురళి. మైలచాయ తొండ maila-ṭsāya-tonda. n. A kind of lizard or bloodsucker. మైలతుత్తము or మయిలుతుత్తము maila-tuttamu. n.
