(p. 157) udāruḍu udāruḍu. [Skt.] n. A liberal or splendid man, a generous man ఇచ్చువాడు, గొప్పవాడు.

(p. 622) dhārāḷamu dhārāḷamu. [Skt.] n. Freedom from restraint. అడ్డపాటులేమి., Openness, want of hesitation, generosity, liberality. adj. Liberal, free. అడ్డపాటులేని. ధారళముగా dhārāḷamu-gā. adv. Easily, plain ly, uninterruptedly, with ease, at free will. ధారాళవృష్టి plenteous rain. R. v. 3. and 31.

(p. 767) puṇyamu puṇyamu. [Skt.] n. Virtue, holiness, merit, excellence, purity. ధర్మము. A good deed, a good or meritorious work or action, a work of supererogation, that which is more than required as a matter of duty. సుకృతము. adj. Virtuous, sacred, holy, pure, righteous. పవిత్రము. Good, excellent, మనోజ్ఞము. Charitable, generous. పుణ్యశ్లోకుడు a celebrated man. పుణ్యకథలు godly legends. పుణ్యకాలము an auspicious time. పుణ్యస్త్రీ (corrupted into పునిస్త్రీ) a happy woman, one whose husband is living. నన్ను ఉత్త పుణ్యానికి కొట్టినాడు he beat me without cause, meaning the same as నిష్కారణముగా. నీపుణ్యముచేత తొందరవచ్చినది (ironical) for this trouble we may thank you. ఇది అంతా మీ పుణ్యము this is all due to you goodness. నీపుణ్యముండును వాని జోలికిమాత్రము పోకు for goodness' sake do not meddle with him. పుణ్యానికి ఇచ్చినపొలము a field granted in free gift. A well known verse says. శ్లోకార్ధేన ప్రవక్ష్యామి యుదక్తం గ్రంథకోటిభిః, పరోపకారః పుణ్యాయపాపాయ పరపీడనం. పుణ్యజనుడు puṇya-januḍu. n. A man of excellence, a holy man, సుజనుడు. A Rākshasa, an evil spirit, రాక్షసుడు. పుణ్యజనేశ్వరుడు puṇya-janēṣvaruḍu. n. Kubēra. పుణ్యబూమి puṇya-bhūmi. n. The Holy land (of the Hindus), i.e., Hindustan, the land between the Himalayas and the Vindhyas. పుణ్యలోకము puṇya-lōkamu. n. Heaven. పుణ్యవంతుడు puṇya-vantuḍu. n. One who is holy or virtuous. ధార్మికుడు, అదృష్టవంతుడు. ఈ విషయములో అతడు చాలా పుణ్యవంతుడు. in this respect he is very lucky. పుణ్యస్త్రీ or పుణ్యాంగన puṇya-strī. n. A good housewife, good woman, lady. పుణ్యాత్ముడు puny-ātmuḍu. n. A holy, pious or charitable person, పుణ్యస్వరూపుడు. పుణ్యాహము puṇy-āhamu. n. A holy or sacred day, పుణ్యదినము. పుణ్యాహవాచనము puṇy-āha-vāchanamu. n. The consecration or hallowing of a ceremony. A ceremonial purification. పుణ్యుడు puṇyudu. n. A holy or virtuous man. పుణ్యులారా O holy men!

(p. 937) mandamu mandamu. [Skt.] adj. Slow, tardy, dull, stupid, heavy, foolish; gentle, soft, not violent, మెల్లని. మందమారుతము a gentle breeze. మందగమనము a gentle pace. మందబుద్ధి dull intellect. మందమతి a block-head. మందస్వరము a low tone. మందాహారము generous diet. n. Thickness, slowness, indigestion, loss of appetite. మాంద్యము, దళము. వానికి కడుపులో మందముగానున్నది he suffers from indigestion. మందగామి manda-gāmi. n. One who walks slow, మెల్లగానడచువాడు. మందగమన or మందగామిని manda-gamna. n. The 'gentle mover,' an epithet of a graceful woman. మందగించు manda-ginṭsu. v. n. To become dull, to lose one's appetite. To fall, as price. మందమగు. ఇప్పుడు ధర మందగించినది the market is now dull, ధరతగ్గినది. మందస్మితము or మందహాసము manda-smitamu. n. A smile, a gentle laugh, చిరునవ్వు. మందాగ్ని man-dāgni n. A slow fire. Want of appetite: (hunger being considered as fire.) అగ్ని మాంద్యము మందాక్షము mand-akshamu. n. Modesty, bashfulness, shame. సిగ్గు, లజ్జ. మందోష్ణము mand-ōshṇamu. n. Slight warmth, lukewarmness, gentle heat. నులివెచ్చన, ఇంచుకవేడి. adj. Warm, tepid, lukewarm. నులివెచ్చని, గోరువెచ్చని.

(p. 1127) vadānyamu vadānyamu. [Skt.] adj. Liberal, generous, munificent. బహుప్రదమైన, మిక్కిలి ఇచ్చునట్టి. Speaking kindly, eloquent. మనోహరముగా మాట్లాడే వదాన్యసైచికి = కామధేనువు. Parij. ii. 130. వదాన్యుడు vadān-yuḍu. n. A liberal man. దాత, కుబేరుడు. One who talks sweetly. మనోజ్ఞముగా మాట్లాడువాడు.

(p. 1269) saṃ or సమ్ sam. [Skt.] prefix. When used with Skt. nouns and adjectives, it means beautiful, చక్కని. Much, very, మిక్కిలి. Places before verbs, it means Well, చక్కగా. See. సంక్షోభము, సంక్షోభించు, సంఘటిల్లు, సంచరించు, సంచలించు, సంతుష్టి, సందర్శించు, సంపూర్ణము, సంపూర్తి, సంప్రాప్తి, సంప్రీతి, సంయుక్తము, సంయుతము, సంయోగము, సంరక్షించు, సంస్తుతి, &c. It also means With, together with. సమంచితము worshipped, revered, పూజ్యమైన. సమధికము exceeding, abundant, plentiful, ఎక్కువైన, మిక్కుటమైన, మిక్కిలి అధికమైన. సమన్వితము joined, united, combined, కూడుకొన్న. సంయుక్తమైన. సమర్పించు to give to the great, to offer presents to superiors. పూజ్యులకు ఇచ్చు. సమర్పితము offered, presented, given to superiors, పూజ్యులకు ఇవ్వబడ్డ. సమర్పణ giving to superiors, a thing presented to the great, an offering, పూజ్యులకు ఇయ్యడము పూజ్యులకు ఇచ్చిన వస్తువు. సమవధానంబుతో attentively, జాగ్రతతో. సమాకర్షి far spreading, as scent. సమాకీర్ణము dishevelled, shed, scattered, sprinkled, intersprersed, చల్లబడ్డ, వెదచల్లబడ్డ. సమాగతము that which is come right, చక్కగావచ్చిన; got, obtained, పొందిన. సమాగమము union, junction; a coming, arrival. coming together, meeting, assembling. చేరడము, కూడడము. కలియడము. రావడము. సమాదరము respect, esteem, honour, సన్మానము, మర్యాద. సమాదృతము respected, esteemed, సన్మానించబడ్డ. గొప్పచేయబడ్డ. సమాశ్లిష్టము embraced, కౌగిలించుకొన్న. సమాశ్వాసము consolation, condolence, soothing, comforting, సాంత్వనము, ఓదార్చడము. సమిద్ధము shinning, glowing, blazing, ప్రకాశమానమైన. 'ఏదేవుచారుసమిద్ధకళాంశసంభవులలము పద్మజభవులునేను.' BX. 68. సముచితము proper, right, fit, యోగ్యమైన, న్యాయమైన. సముచ్ఛ్రయము height, elevation, ఔన్నత్యత; opposition, వినోధము. సముచ్ఛ్రాయము height, elevation, ఔన్నత్యము. సముచ్ఛ్రితము high, tall, lifted up, raised, పాడుగైన, ఉన్నతమైన. సముచ్ఛ్రితుడు he who is high or elevated, ఉన్నతుడు. సముఝ్ఘితము abandoned, left, quitted. త్యజింపబడ్డ, విడువబడ్డ. సమత్కటము much, excessive; drunk, mad, furious; superior, high, మిక్కుటమైన, తాగి మదించిన, వెర్రి, శ్రేష్ఠమైన, ఉన్నతమైన, సముత్సుకము high, lofty, tall, ఉన్నతమైన. నముతుకము zealously active, fond of, attached to, మిక్కిలి అభిలాషగల. సముత్సుకుడు one who is eager, ఆశగలవాడు. యాత్రా సముత్సుకుడై wishing to make a journey. సముదంచితము worshipped; thrown up, tossed. పూజితమైన, విసరబడ్డ, వ్యాపింపబడ్డ. సముదగ్రము high, tall, large, vast, ఉన్నతమైన, స్థూలమైన, సముదగ్రత height, tallness, largeness, ఔన్నత్యము, స్థౌల్యము. సముదీర్ణము generous, great, excellent, intense, దాతయైన, దివ్యమైన. 'సముదీర్ణవాహుదర్పోజ్వలులైన పుత్రులు.' M. XV. ii. 185. సముద్గతము produced, born, పుట్టిన, ఉత్పన్నమైన. సముద్గమము birth, production, ఉత్పత్తి, కలుగడము, సముద్దండము violent, fierce, ప్రచండమైన, సముద్యతము ready, prepared, సిద్ధమైన. సముద్ధతము rude, ill mannered, misbehaved, మోట, పెడసరమైన, ధూర్తమైన. సముద్ధతి ill behaviour, effrontery, audacity, misbehaviour, ధుర్తత, దుర్మార్గము. 'తనరొమ్ముకరసముద్ధతి గ్రుద్దుకొనుచు.' Sar.
