(p. 386) goṇḍi gonḍi. [Tel.] n. Evil. Bane. A wretch. దుమ్ములగొండి the bone eater, i.e., the hyæna. దురదగొండి ఆకు or గొంగదూలగొండి the nettle, the cowach plant.

(p. 386) goṇḍili or గొండ్లి gonḍili. [Tel.] n. Acting, dancing, gambols, sport. నర్తవము. An actress. నర్తకి. A toss, a fling. గొండ్లిపరచు to toss or fling an attitude in dancing, the actress bending back till she rests on her hands. క్రీడింపచేయు. 'సీ జలదేవతాహస్త చామరానిలములు, కుటులాలకములకు గొండ్లి గరప.' కాశీ. V. 66. గొండ్లి సలుపు gonḍli-salupu. v. n. To sport, to dance on all fours bending backwards, to indulge in indecent gambols.

(p. 362) goṇḍlavāḍu gānḍla-vāḍu. [Tel.] n. An oil-monger. నూనే అమ్మి జీవించేవాడు. గాండ్లది a woman of that caste.

To swallow, devour. కబళించు. గ్రుక్కిళ్లు మింగు to swallow one's saliva, to stand speechless, to smother one's grief: to water, as the mouth, అపేక్షించు. గ్రుక్కిళ్లు ఎందుకు మింగుతావు చెప్పు why do you falter so in speaking. 'కన్నపుదొంగలువచ్చిరె, మిన్నక యీలోనివారె మింగిరటంచున్.' Vaij. iv. 54. the people inside have devoured it. మింగనగొండి, మింగగొడ్డి or మ్రింగనగొండి minga-na-goṇḍi. n. A glutton. తిండిపోతు. 'మనసిజారియు మింగగొండియయ్యె.' BD. iv. 1281.
